What Is Inco Terms , How Inco Terms works - YouTube
Channel: Import Export
[0]
Hello All, welcome to import export
[2]
Today we talk about inco terms
[4]
Incoterms is very import things in import export industry
[9]
you should be know every incoterms on your finger tips
[12]
if you are in purchase department then you must know incoterms for negotiation
[15]
if you in account team and you want to release the international payment then again you must know the these terms
[20]
if you work in bank and handling the lc then again you must know these terms
[27]
in these video i would define how many types of incoterms exist
[32]
as you can see in this chart there is multiple incoterms mentioned here
[35]
exworks, fca, fob cfr
[38]
dat dap for
[40]
they i'll let you understand all incoterms with the help of example
[44]
so when you hear this next time so got to know where which one should be use
[48]
so lets go for our first slide
[50]
first basic question what is incoterms
[53]
inco terms also known as delivery terms
[57]
means how delivery will be done
[58]
suppose this is a exporter
[62]
and she is an importer
[63]
exporter want to sell this part to this importer
[68]
for selling, how shipment will be route
[70]
first this shipment load here and move forward
[73]
route i'll explain in next slide
[74]
so who responsible till which point
[77]
that point define by inco terms.
[79]
that is why inco terms used in import
[85]
then next question who regulated incotmers
[88]
incoterms regulated by ICC international chamber of commerce
[93]
this is an organization who amend time to time these terms
[98]
because some time importer exporter catch the loop whole
[102]
then they start to missuse this
[108]
that is why icc amend it time to time
[112]
when icc amend then they gave new name to incoterms
[116]
earlier incoterms was 2010
[120]
but current incoterms 2020 in on use
[122]

[125]
So i will make another video on this topic
[128]
so lets go to our next slide
[130]
first we understand the exworks terms
[132]
first thing you need to remember
[134]
if you want to understand the incoterms
[137]
so first you must know the shipment route
[140]
how shipment route
[142]
on which points its touches
[144]
then you will be understand which one responsibility on which point
[147]
so first with this example we understand the route before incoterms
[150]
and its rule
[152]
suppose this is a seller in Germany
[155]
and this one in india we said him as importer or buyer
[160]
and he is outside of country so he is a exporter
[163]
now exporter manufacture this shipment
[167]
so this shipment need to reach in india here
[172]
so how shipment go there
[175]
every thing should be define at every point charge the money cost
[179]
this shipment packed here
[182]
first loaded in truck
[183]
this truck reach nearest port
[186]
if by air shipment
[188]
or via ship, that is why taken both example
[191]
for air shipment will be route through air
[193]
if via sea then reach sea port and other formalities is there
[196]
i m telling you only point
[198]
then there will be one CHA who perform clearance
[201]
if CHA doing this
[203]
so he will charge for that
[205]
which shipment loaded here who also charge for that
[212]
then vehicle reach here
[214]
on port or airport there will be charge for unloading and stuffing
[220]
and loading cost will be applicable here
[224]
when shipment cleared from custom
[228]
then this shipment will be onboard on ship or airplane
[233]
so this cost applicable
[237]
and handling charges, freight cost
[242]
same on airport loading charges
[245]
after that shipment reach in india port
[248]
which port, nearest port of buyer
[254]
then same condition shipment will be unload
[257]
so CHA will perform clearance import pay the duty
[262]
after clearance there will be handling cost loading cost truck cost
[267]
you must know these point remember it this is route
[272]
so lets go exworks terms
[275]
this is exworks example
[277]
suppose
[279]
this shipment need to reach at import point
[283]
seller will said what price we have given this is exworks basis
[288]
means exporter only manufacture the part and keep ready as box at his premises
[293]
after that our responsibility over
[295]
after that import responsibility send the vehicle and his agent to pick the shipment
[300]
so exporter only responsibility keep ready the box or container
[306]
after dispatch
[307]
exporter responsibility over
[311]
hope you understand what is exworks
[313]
means all responsibility is for importer only
[316]
so lets go next terms
[317]
second is FCA or FOB
[319]
both will explain
[321]
we have taken same example
[323]
shipment has been ready
[324]
now seller said our price is basis FCA
[327]
first we understand FCA
[330]
in this example you will be understand difference between FCA & FOB
[333]
in FCA exporter made the box
[335]
after that exporter load the shipment in truck
[339]
after loading
[340]
in FCA shipment
[342]
truck will reach on airport
[345]
so exporter arrange the shipment till airport
[348]
if this shipment FOB basis then shipment reach sea port instead of airport
[355]
so shipment reach at sea port
[358]
after that responsibility will be buyer for shipment
[363]
so exporter responsibility till port or airport only
[368]
that is why after FCA or FOB port name need to mentioned
[374]
after port all things handle by importer no role of exporter from this point
[384]
There is one point i want to add, Specially in India
[388]
if shipment route through air but buyer can demand i want FOB only
[392]
our standard is FOB
[395]
So exporter have no option he mentioned FOB even shipment in air mode, This is possible in India
[402]
so lets go to next terms
[404]
next is CFR, CIF, CIP AND CPT
[408]
i have all these four terms because point can be same on all these terms
[413]
so you can understand what is difference among them easily
[419]
to avoid the confusion
[421]
most of the case CFR
[423]
nearest port of importer
[426]
or nearest sea port of importer, so in CFR
[430]
Exporter dispatch the shipment to port
[434]
also done custom clearance
[435]
load in airplane or ship and dispatch the shipment
[438]
after that shipment enter in India
[441]
so from here exporter role over
[444]
after that all responsibility taken care by importer
[449]
this is clear very simple
[451]
second is CIF
[453]
same exporter dispatch this shipment from there port but insurance will be add here
[461]
which insurance cost applicable here
[467]
it will be bear by exporter
[470]
rest will be same after that shipment taken care by importer
[475]
next is CIP
[478]
so P is stand for port or place
[482]
in CIP insurance is optional
[489]
till this point cost bear by exporter
[493]
but there will be agreement between exporter and importer
[499]
which define who will bear the insurance cost if no agreement then exporter will bear this cost
[505]
but can be optional
[509]
next is CPT
[510]
CPT also work same but
[515]
only insurance difference
[518]
in CFR there was no insurance
[523]
in CIF insurance bear by exporter
[525]
in CIP insurance was optional
[527]
but there is possibility import also can pay insurance cost
[531]
so in CPT case importer will pay insurance cost
[536]
so exporter dispatch the shipment from port and insurance cost bear by buyer
[540]
also loading unloading
[544]
means exporter transaction complete after dispatch
[548]
but in CIF CIP CPT insurance will be involve
[551]
so this is the difference hop you understand
[555]
so lets go to next slide
[559]
next is DAT and DAP
[563]
there is also one more terms DDU that is same duty will not be involved for exporter
[569]
T stand for terminal means have to delivered at terminal
[573]
but in case of place, suppose importer is belong to Delhi
[578]
and his factory in Gurgaon
[580]
so buyer mentioned delivery terms as
[582]
DAP Gurgaon
[584]
so exporter have to delivered the shipment till Gurgaon
[588]
so shipment need to reach importer factory
[593]
all cost bear by exporter but only duty will pay by importer
[600]
after all formalities done shipment reach in India
[607]
so duty will pay only buy buyer rest exporter
[615]
that is why importer mentioned Gurgaon as delivery terms
[620]
so mange everything
[622]
we can only pay duty & tax
[626]
hope you understand now
[628]
next is DDP and FOR
[632]
what was the last terms all cost bear by exporter only duty importer
[635]
suppose importer mentioned DDP Gurgaon
[639]
now exporter have delivered shipment at Gurgaon along with duty
[645]
this terms use mostly like sample shipment or foc shipment
[653]
means importer don't want any tension
[657]
all charges born by exporter only
[662]
no responsibility of importer
[666]
then what is FOR free on road
[668]
officially there is no incoterms is FOR
[672]
Its made by Indian not by ICC
[677]
This means nothing but we are Indian we want to do something unique
[683]
no Indian organization said use FOR
[685]
internationally FOR means nothing
[691]
but some buyer demand we accept only FOR
[697]
So its means is same as DDP
[700]
delivery will be done by exporter but not officially
[704]
in case of LC then you must mentioned DDP not FOR
[707]
Keep remember FOR is nothing but in India FOR works same like DDP
