suspect is dead

it happened this morning in the parking
[20]
lot of security square mall in woodlawn

w-j-z has been covering this story all

you this is still

an active scene much of this parking lot

remains blocked off

with various law enforcement officers
[44]
from different agencies investigating
[46]
what happened
[47]
here's what we know police say that the
[50]
suspect
[51]
in this case was wanted in a june 19
[53]
shooting on west land vale street in
[55]
baltimore
[56]
that officers spotted him and his
[59]
vehicle
[59]
and that he immediately came out
[61]
shooting when they approached
[64]
it's really horrific right now a violent
[67]
morning in baltimore county
[68]
where two baltimore city police officers
[71]
were shot
[72]
while working with the warrant
[73]
apprehension task force it happened
[75]
around 8 a.m
[76]
outside security square mall what we
[78]
know right now is that officers
[80]
observed the targeted vehicle and
[82]
suspect
[83]
in the 6100 block of security boulevard

in baltimore county

in the parking lot and attempted to
[89]
approach the vehicle
[91]
it was at that time the suspect exited
[93]
the vehicle
[94]
and fired multiple rounds at officers
[97]
striking two baltimore city detectives
[99]
the officers suffered
[100]
non-life-threatening injuries and are
[101]
hospitalized at shock trauma what did

you think when you got here

i thought they were shooting a movie or

something i didn't know all this was

happening out here

the suspect is a 32-year-old man wanted
[114]
on a murder
[115]
and handgun warrant out of baltimore
[117]
city for a june 19
[119]
shooting he was shot at least once and

died just after 10 a.m

our warrant apprehension task force goes

out each and

every day attempting to apprehend those
[130]
who cowardly commit violence on our
[132]
streets
[133]
and bring them to justice so that these

families and communities can begin to

heal

there have been several incidents in

recent years involving the warrant
[143]
apprehension task force
[144]
resulting in officers and suspects being

shot including in northeast baltimore in

february of 2020.

is the lead investigative agency

officers are expected to be okay we're

told they're both being treated here at

shock trauma for non-life-threatening

injuries

baltimore police say the two officers

were shot while attempting to serve a

homicide warrant

at the security square mall in woodlawn

are with the warrant apprehension task

serious condition

and the hospital staff were able to get

them stabilized

both will require some therapy the exact

nature of that will be determined by

looking at that extends from macy's over

tokyo buffet however the main part of

this investigation is tucked back a

little bit closer to the mall
