True Cost of All On 4 Dental Implants - YouTube
Channel: All On 4 Clinic
[0]
- I'm going to tell you
all you need to know
[2]
about the cost of dental implants,
[4]
and specifically All On 4.
[19]
Hi guys, thanks for tuning in.
[21]
I'm Alex Fibishenko, I'm
one of the implant surgeons
[25]
at All On 4 Clinic.
[26]
My practice is exclusive
[28]
to dental implants and
dental facial surgery,
[31]
and I work with numerous
dentists and specialists
[34]
in offering, what is often
life-changing treatment
[37]
for dental cripples and denture wearers.
[40]
Over the next few episodes,
[41]
I'm going to tell you all you need to know
[43]
about the cost of dental implants
[46]
and specifically All On 4,
[48]
how we do it differently at our clinic
[50]
using more advanced,
immediate final teeth system,
[54]
which we call All On 4 Plus,
without paying a premium.
[58]
Dental implants treatments are not cheap,
[60]
especially when you need a
full mouth reconstruction.
[63]
The cost can vary between
different methods,
[65]
but so do the risks and the results.
[67]
So I'm going to try and
explain the differences
[69]
as well as the costs
and the kinds of rebates
[72]
and special payment
schemes that are available.
[80]
The question of cost varies
[82]
depending on individual circumstances.
[84]
One review site compared 839
doctors in clinics worldwide,
[89]
and found that the
average cost of All On 4
[92]
was just over $30,000.
[94]
At All On 4 clinic, we do
these procedures almost daily
[98]
and as a general guide,
[99]
our typical fee is $25,000 per
arch, either top or bottom.
[104]
And this is for All On 4 Plus,
[105]
which includes the immediate final teeth
[108]
and some other important things
which I will cover later.
[111]
There are some situations
where the bone quality
[115]
or the volume is so
poor that we need to use
[118]
some additional procedures
like nerve transposition,
[121]
bone grafting, or special long implants
[123]
anchored into the cheekbones
known as Zygoma implants,
[127]
which can all be done at the same time
[130]
and in the one surgery,
[131]
but can add three to $9,000 to the cost.
[135]
These situations are
not common, and by far,
[137]
most treatments end up being
[139]
around the $25,000 mark per arch.
[142]
or $50,000 to do top and bottom together.
[162]
The cost includes all
the preoperative planning
[165]
and procedures such as photos
and digital impressions
[169]
of your mouth,
[171]
Digital Smile Design,
[172]
where we do digital modeling
of the plant positions
[175]
of the new teeth,
[177]
the surgery itself,
[178]
which is performed by experienced
[179]
and specially trained implant surgeons.
[183]
And it includes a template of teeth
[185]
that mimics the digital design,
[188]
which can be tried in the mouth
[189]
immediately after surgery on the same day,
[192]
to allow us to just fine tune
the appearance of the smile
[195]
and the bite.
[196]
Often patients can go
home with these teeth
[198]
so that they're not without teeth.
[201]
The cost includes all
the laboratory procedures
[203]
and customization, and of course
the immediate final teeth,
[208]
which is a hybrid of
the finest acrylic teeth
[211]
on a custom milled titanium frame.
[213]
The cost also includes
the three week review
[217]
and hygiene appointment,
[219]
the four month review and x-rays
[222]
to check the healing of the implants
[224]
and all repairs and minor adjustments
[226]
as required for two years.
[229]
All On 4 Plus procedure can be done
[231]
under local anesthetic
at no additional cost.
[234]
In most cases, though, it
is preferable to do this
[237]
under general anesthetic.
[238]
There is an additional cost for this,
[240]
but there is a substantial
rebate for Medicare,
[242]
for the fees of the
specialist they need for this.
[244]
Unfortunately, Medicare does not pay
[246]
for any of the dental implants fees.
[248]
For those with dental insurance,
[250]
this treatment falls under major dental,
[253]
and there is an annual limit,
[254]
typically within the vicinity
of one to two thousand,
[257]
which is not much but something.
[259]
There are also options with
early release of super,
[262]
for patients who are in
pain from their teeth.
[264]
This has become a very popular option
[266]
for those who have enough in their super
[269]
and who are eligible,
[270]
as it allows you to draw out of your super
[272]
for health reasons.
[273]
Our treatment coordinators
[275]
can give you more information about that.
[278]
To understand the costs,
you need to understand
[280]
what's involved and what
are the various options.
[283]
There are many steps and
many costly components
[287]
and costly technologies that
need to be used in the planning
[290]
and throughout the treatment,
which makes it expensive.
[294]
Also, the implants that we use
[296]
are amongst the most
expensive in the world
[299]
because of the research and technology
[301]
that has gone into them,
[302]
but we don't charge a
premium when we use them.
[304]
Having facilities that can
produce immediate final teeth
[308]
with a milled titanium
frame is a sophisticated
[311]
and expensive setup.
[313]
But again, we don't
charge a premium for that.
[316]
Lastly, the kinds of surgeons,
staff, and technicians,
[320]
who are involved in the whole
process have to be experts
[323]
in the area of implants and
have undergone a great deal
[326]
of education and training,
[328]
which makes their time more costly,
[330]
but also more valuable and efficient
[333]
and the results more predictable.
[334]
The alternative older
methods of a staged approach
[338]
and temporary teeth typically
involve simply gluing
[341]
a prefabricated denture
to the implant posts.
[344]
As you can imagine,
[345]
the fitting surfaces of
these temporary teeth
[347]
are quite often rough,
[349]
trapping food and making
them difficult to keep clean,
[352]
which can result in inflammation
[353]
and excessive shrinkage of the gums.
[356]
Temporary teeth are also
fragile and can crack or break
[360]
during the healing process,
[362]
which can put the healing
implants under undue stress,
[365]
resulting in bone loss or failure.
[368]
You would think that the
older, temporary teeth method
[371]
should be the cheaper alternative,
[373]
especially because it's quicker
[375]
and requires a much less
sophisticated process,
[378]
but I have seen it being the
same or even more expensive
[381]
at some clinics that
advertise All On 4 widely.
[384]
More importantly,
[386]
the patient's experience
is very different.
[389]
They have to endure three to four months
[391]
of wearing temporary teeth and
then undergo another process
[395]
to make the final teeth,
[396]
as opposed to walking
out with a great smile
[399]
using All On 4 Plus and our unique,
[401]
immediate final teeth system.
[408]
I know that this treatment
will not be affordable to many,
[411]
but if it is within the
realms of possibility,
[414]
the results that I have
seen have been life-changing
[417]
and quite often, patients only regret
[420]
is not doing it sooner.
[421]
- No regrets at all. I wish
I was able to do it sooner.
[426]
- I should've done this many years ago.
[429]
- At our licensed clinics
throughout Australia,
[431]
there are a number of finance options.
[433]
Some are completely interest free,
[435]
which makes it more affordable.
[440]
The question of whether it's
worth it is an individual one,
[443]
and depends on the issues and limitations
[445]
that you're experiencing with your teeth.
[447]
How can you put a price on your
health and quality of life?
[450]
Being able to bite into an apple,
[452]
chewing all kinds of food without
pain from crumbling teeth,
[456]
smiling with absolute confidence
[458]
and being proud of your smile.
[460]
Often, people who have had
infections from their teeth
[463]
say that they feel
healthier, have more energy.
[466]
Their skin even feels healthier
[468]
from getting rid of all
their teeth infections.
[470]
- I feel like my old
self, like I used to be.
[472]
I feel like I'm revived and fresh.
[475]
So I wanna get out there
and start living again.
[478]
Cause I think that was
really bringing me down,
[480]
the way I looked with no teeth,
[482]
and problems I had eating.
[484]
- People who had dentures
before this treatment
[487]
can suddenly feel the roof of their mouth
[489]
and can bite into an apple.
[490]
They don't need to worry about
their dentures falling out
[493]
when they sneeze.
[494]
These are the aims of this
treatment and if done correctly
[497]
and mother nature agrees,
these are also the results.
[530]
Stay tuned for episode two,
[532]
where I'll look at the cheaper,
[533]
as well as the more costly alternatives
[536]
to All On 4 Plus, with
some real life examples.
