How to Pitch Logistics Services? (w/ Script) - 馃摟Cold Email Teardown馃摟 - YouTube
Channel: Alex Berman - Cold Email and B2B Lead Generation
[4]
Today on cold email tear downs
[5]
we'll be doing something
slightly different.
[7]
I got this email from one
of you guys, Jason Denbo,
[10]
who runs a transportation company.
[13]
Using similar tactics that
we talk about in these videos
[15]
he wrote this email,
but it could be better,
[18]
so let's jump in and see
[19]
how we can improve this email.
[22]
Off the bat the subject line looks okay,
[24]
Yeti and Orangedale Transportation.
[25]
Some other ones he could
try is, About Yeti,
[30]
or Question for Yeti,
[34]
Hi from Jason.
[37]
Any of these are fine
subject lines to try.
[39]
Then we jump into the body of the email.
[40]
Hi Justin, I'm a big fan
of the Yeti products.
[42]
A couple of Christmases ago
[43]
my wife got me the Yeti Rambler Koozie
[45]
and now I have a ton of your products
[46]
including your awesome cooler,
even though I don't camp.
[49]
I run Orangedale Transportation
[50]
and I'm in charge of making
your transportation life easier.
[53]
So there's two parts to this,
[54]
one is the customized first line
[56]
and then the second is the pitch.
[58]
Let's start with the
customized first line first.
[60]
I would say that this is too long.
[63]
It is customized, which is perfect,
[64]
but it's too long.
[65]
The big thing about this paragraph
[66]
is it doesn't really flow together.
[68]
I'm a big fan of the Yeti products, stop.
[71]
A couple Christmases ago,
[72]
my wife got this thing for me, stop.
[74]
I run Orangedale Transportation
[75]
and I'm in charge of making
your transportation life easier.
[78]
Not connected, so I'll put
that to a new paragraph
[81]
and I think the fix it just,
[82]
couple Christmases ago
[83]
my wife got me the Yeti Rambler Koozie
[85]
and now I have a ton of your products,
[86]
including your awesome cooler,
[91]
obviously a huge fan of what you do.
[98]
Something like that.
[100]
Something that's more punchy,
[101]
that they're gonna be
able to read quickly.
[103]
What's so interesting
about all of this here
[107]
is it doesn't really
matter compared to this.
[110]
So I'd love to learn what
you're doing right now
[111]
for your truckload transportation
[113]
and see how Orangedale Transportation
[114]
can help your business
operations run even better.
[117]
So, business operations run even better,
[120]
Is the kinda thing that he helps with.
[122]
So I'm just gonna put
that way up at the top.
[124]
And then, like we talked
about in a previous video,
[127]
get rid you the I's and
change them to other things.
[131]
So, would love to learn more,
[132]
instead of I would love to learn more.
[140]
So I'm just changing this around
[140]
to fix the flow a little bit.
[143]
I wanna turn some of these, like,
[144]
multiple sentences into
one sentence if possible.
[147]
And then I'm getting rid
of this pun intended,
[149]
'cause it kinda slows
the whole email down.
[151]
Sometimes with copy, people
get a little bit too clever
[154]
when, ideally you just wanna communicate
[156]
in the clearest way possible.
[159]
And then just changing and tightening up
[161]
some of this language.
[164]
Okay so that's the
first part of the email.
[167]
I think it flows a little bit better now.
[168]
The other thing to talk about
[170]
is the call to action here.
[171]
If you're ready to move to a
new standard of transportation
[173]
service, please get in
touch with me directly
[175]
and I will set up a quick call.
[177]
This doesn't make sense as an email.
[178]
Maybe it makes sense as an ad,
[180]
but please get in touch with me directly,
[181]
you are in touch Jason,
you're sending an email
[184]
directly to him.
[185]
So, instead of this, make it a question,
[190]
and direct it more towards the person.
[196]
And then I'm not a big
fan of these extra lines.
[199]
I think they stretch out emails
[200]
and they're unnecessary.
[201]
Jason, you can leave that in if you want,
[203]
and I'm gonna remove it here.
[209]
And the last thing I
wanna add to this email
[210]
is some proof.
[212]
I don't have a case study for them
[213]
but if you have a case study,
[214]
this is what you'd add here.
[216]
So, our model puts you first
[217]
and makes sure all of your
needs are taken care of
[219]
since we know that transportation issues
[221]
can grind companies to a halt.
[223]
For instance, for this company we did this
[226]
and we got this result.
[228]
That's what we need to add to this email,
[231]
then the call to action,
[232]
and this is the email.
