You can see my nails. You can definitely see my nails!
[8]
Hello everybody! Welcome to Mieke's Marketing Mind!
[12]
Of course I am in Da Nang.
[14]
I'm at H貌a's apartment. She's my friend.
[19]
And she does amazing nail artwork!
[24]
And I'm a volunteer today! So what are we going to do?
[29]
I think we will do something quite simple,
[33]
because you are really a nice lady and...
[40]
So, what's the story behind this nail art for you?
[44]
My mother, she kept telling me, you have to learn
[50]
about nails, take a course about nail art.
[53]
So that you can earn money easily.
[55]
So your mother forced you a bit to learn
[60]
how to create these nail art pieces.
[66]
But later I just got really passionate and crazy
[71]
about doing nails. And I think that nail art,
[75]
doing nails... It isn't just doing nails.
[78]
It's a kind of art.
[80]
Which colour do you want?
[83]
That is so beautiful!
[87]
Do you think passion is important in a business?
[92]
As a business owner?
[95]
I think that, everything we do, it should start
[98]
from passion and love.
[101]
For example: if you do it for the money,
[102]
one day you will be exhausted from all the people
[105]
you met, all of the pressure you have to handle.
[110]
Because you do it just for the money.
[112]
Even when you don't have passion, just keep looking.
[116]
Try everything. Try skating, try swimming.
[121]
Try playing guitar, or doing other stuff.
[125]
So your advice to our viewers about businesses,
[131]
and about entrepreneurial skills is:
[135]
If you don't know who you want to become in life,
[139]
what you want to do professionally in life,
[141]
just go out and try as many things as possible,
[145]
and one day you will find what you really like to do,
[150]
what you can be passionate about.
[152]
I also didn't know that I would be passionate about
[157]
Vietnam and living in Vietnam.
[160]
Vietnam just happened to me.
[163]
One moment I wasn't passionate about Vietnam
[166]
because I didn't know Vietnam.
[168]
The other moment, I arrived in my first destination,
[172]
which was Phu Quoc, in the south,
[175]
And I fell in love with the vibe, the atmosphere,
[179]
the incredibly friendly Vietnamese people!
[182]
And believe it or not, 2 weeks later,
[186]
I started a job in Phu Quoc and I never left.
[188]
So, you also dream of starting up your own business?
[193]
Yeah, maybe some day in my thirties or so...
[197]
Why is it that so many Vietnamese young people
[201]
dream of having their own business?
[203]
Maybe because they are just like me.
[206]
They want something that gives them the feeling
[209]
of freedom and doing what they like.
[212]
And it's very easy to open a business in Vietnam,
[216]
compared to other countries, like America or Australia.
[220]
I love this amazing, entrepreneurial atmosphere
[224]
in Vietnam.
[226]
It's one of the first things that I noticed.
[229]
I mean, everywhere there are businesses.
[234]
There are people working. It never stops.
[236]
It's 7 on 7. It's 24 hours a day.
[241]
And I also think that the government,
[243]
they really encourage young people to
[248]
open up their own business, to develop the country,
[254]
develop the economy.
[256]
Even in Da Nang, Hue, especially in Ho Chi Minh City,
[262]
there are so many programmes that young people
[265]
can find to help them to start up their own business.
[268]
That's great!
[270]
So beautiful, right?
[271]
You give me the feeling that I'm very special.
[273]
Thank you!
[275]
It's amazing for me, as a western person,
[278]
to live in Vietnam, and to meet so many young
[283]
Vietnamese people who want to start up a business,
[288]
who are studying so hard to become anything
[297]
they want. Most of the time they want to have
[300]
their own business.
[302]
And with Mieke's Marketing Mind, my big dream is
[307]
to share all my marketing knowledge
[312]
and all my experience in having worked for
[317]
many businesses, with all these people.
[322]
You have such great passion about Vietnam
[326]
and Vietnamese people.
[328]
I wish that some day your channel will become
[332]
very popular to Vietnamese people,
[335]
and the young Vietnamese people can watch
[339]
your videos and feel proud about their country,
[343]
and find their own passion or grow themselves.
[349]
That's very nice of you!
[353]
That you decide to go from a very good position
[361]
in Belgium to Vietnam and start all over again.
[364]
Very difficult, right?
[367]
It's very difficult, but I've never been more happy!
[371]
These are my stunningly beautiful nails.
[376]
Completely handmade, if that is a good word.
[381]
If you want to have this magic artwork on your nails,
