Personalized and comfortable settings can give you an edge over someone who uses default ones in this video
[8]
I will show and explain settings that can make your life easier
[12]
They will mostly change your HUD but some of them have more significant effect on gameplay
[17]
That will be helpful either if you are not aware of some settings at all
[22]
Or if you don't want to test them yourself and just want to see what each setting does in a quick video
[30]
language changes language
[32]
I highly recommend using something you can understand
[36]
Auto log in as soon as you press play button and launcher after few load screens you will be logged in in your hangar
[44]
automatically without need to press anything in login window
[49]
UI scale changes UI size,
[52]
mostly in hangar.
[54]
During fights, it doesn't affect anything,
[57]
unless you hit tactical map button, settings, or Tab.
[62]
"Show bonuses on-screen": controls how awards are shown like avenger' base capture
[69]
Assists streak and so on
[71]
Disabling those will save you space on screen, so it might be easier to notice enemies
[78]
Damage indicator scale: this allows you to change the size of your information window in bottom left corner
[85]
Smaller window will give you more screen to observe battlefield
[90]
But it might be more difficult to notice damages or identify knocked out crew members
[96]
Camera shake: the more chosen, the more camera will shake after each shot. Looks nice if you are making cinematic
[104]
videos. In
[106]
practice, can be annoying when playing vehicles with fast rate of fire or when using War Emergency Power with planes, as
[114]
image will shake all the time. I do recommend to set minimum amount, unless you are making videos
[122]
Automatically join into squads:
[124]
When playing alone,
[125]
there is a chance that when battle starts you will be in squad with another player that also has this
[132]
function enabled. This will allow you to repair each other in any type of ground vehicle and you also can get
[139]
bonuses like "The Best Squad".
[142]
"Join already going battles":
[145]
There is a chance to join battle that started recently. When there are not enough players this can reduce waiting times.
[153]
But since you spawn in a match that already started, you might be in
[158]
disadvantage because everyone will already be on their way to shooting positions or capture points, and
[165]
you just started to play.
[168]
"Use alternative sight grid":
[170]
This option is only visible after specific ground vehicle is selected in your hangar, or
[176]
when you started playing it. You can download custom sights or create your own and then use this option to enable it.
[184]
Air Battle Settings only applies when using aircraft
[188]
"Default view": lets you choose a view type you will be in as soon as you respawn in aircraft
[195]
You can change it anytime during battle, except in Simulator Battles, where only cockpit view available
[203]
"Guns targeting distance":
[206]
Mostly noticeable on planes with machine guns mounted on wings. It sets distance in front of you where bullets meet
[214]
Choose the distance where you usually engage targets. That will allow you to concentrate fire at that specific distance
[222]
You cannot change it after respawning in battle
[227]
"Vertical targeting":
[229]
Depending on previous setting at the same distance,
[232]
bullets will meet in a vertical axis
[234]
if some machine guns have different ballistic trajectories. In most cases,
[240]
messes up your aim and varies a lot depending on vehicle, so for the sake of simplicity,
[246]
Turn it off.
[249]
"Aerobatic smoke type": here you can choose smoke color and where it appears when flying aircraft.
[256]
It is activated by pressing L by default
[260]
Can be useful to signal your allies or to attract enemy's attention in game modes without markers
[267]
"Show pilot in cockpit": controls if you will see pilot's legs and arms while in cockpit view.
[275]
"Autopilot for gunner and bomb sight modes":
[278]
when enabled, plane will switch to horizontal position as soon as you switch to bomb or gunner view. If
[286]
disabled, plane will keep climbing or descending,
[289]
depending on position which was set before you switch to view
[295]
"Automatic aircraft rearmament on the battlefield": when enabled, aircraft will start rearming as
[301]
soon as ammunition was used. If
[304]
disabled, you will have to press Reload button to start rearming. It is convenient to keep it enabled
[312]
"Crosshair": allows you to choose the type of crosshair
[316]
Larger will be easier to notice, while smaller will not block the view of your target
[322]
Especially in game modes without markers where small salute of enemy aircraft can be hard to see behind your crosshair
[331]
"Crosshair color": allows you to choose color of crosshair
[335]
Use something that stands out among usual in-game colors, so it will be more visible on different backgrounds
[344]
Indicated airspeed
[346]
When disabled, shows you speed relative to the ground
[350]
When enabled, shows airflow around the vehicle. At
[354]
sea level, these speeds are similar, while at higher [altitude] where air is less dense
[360]
Indicated airspeed will be lower since aircraft maneuverability and flaps' rip-off speed
[366]
depends on airflow, it is recommended to turn it on and use it instead of usual speed,
[373]
which has little use in game environment.
[376]
"Show Leading": in game modes where Leading is shown, a circle will be displayed that will calculate your target speed,
[384]
direction and your biggest caliber machine guns' bullet speed
[388]
It will show where you must shoot in order to hit a target if it doesn't change its course
[394]
There is no point to disable it; It is useful in arcade game mode
[399]
"Display aircraft damage":
[401]
After you are hit, your plane's damage indicator will be shown in bottom left corner.
[407]
Enabling it will let you better understand what kind of damages plane has suffered
[413]
"Camera from aircraft gunner sight": gunner sight will make it easier for you to hit enemies
[419]
but planes tail can block a big portion of your view. And if
[424]
disabled, Third person camera will offer you better view
[428]
but because of parallax it can be more difficult to hit targets. Setting only applies to planes with one gunner.
[436]
Helicopter Battle Settings apply only to this type of aircraft. "Helicopter's HUD color":
[443]
Self-explanatory; changes HUD color. Just choose anything that looks comfortable and doesn't blend into
[451]
environment.
[453]
"Helicopter's alerts color": HUD elements that require your attention.
[458]
For example, when out of ammunition, will be displayed in different color. Choose [color] different than your HUD color
[466]
"Horizontal speed": when enabled, speed in any direction is displayed. If
[472]
Disabled, only speed forward in the direction of helicopter's nose is shown normally
[478]
Backwards will be negative value, and
[481]
Sideways is not taken into account at all. When you spin helicopter around, speed will change
[488]
according to where is the aircraft's nose.
[492]
"Aiming with Oculus Rift helmet": dislike the hell out of this video; I don't know what it means.
[499]
Tank Battle Settings will be effective while in Tanks
[503]
"Grass in tank sight": when enabled grass distance setting applies
[509]
When disabled grass will not be shown while using binoculars or in sniper mode.
[515]
Disable to have a balance between a nice image in third-person view and less obstacles while aiming.
[523]
"Player's tank destruction replay":
[526]
After you are killed, it will show how opponent's projectile penetrated to your armor, and what damage was done.
[533]
Keeping it on allows you to understand tanks weak spots
[537]
If you need to respawn as fast as possible replay can be canceled by pressing button.
[543]
Hit camera:
[545]
Shows how your projectile
[547]
interacted with enemy's tank. If there was damage, displays what modules were damaged or what crew members were killed.
[555]
Colors from yellow to black
[557]
allows you to understand how much damage were done to these modules. Keeping
[562]
it enabled allows you to better understand where to shoot to finish remaining crew members.
[568]
"Camera from tank gunner sight": If
[571]
disabled, in Sniper mode you look through the barrel of your main gun
[576]
When enabled, you look through internal module called optics. That means part of your barrel will be visible and
[584]
camouflage bushes can block your view.
[587]
Keeping it disabled will be more convenient. In Simulator Battles, it's always enabled.
[594]
"Show destroyed modules":
[597]
Destroyed modules will be written in text in top right corner
[601]
Keep it enabled. Then, in addition to Hit Camera, it will tell you the roles of killed crew members or modules.
[609]
Tactical map scale
[611]
Allows you to set tactical map size in bottom right corner. I'd recommend to set it as big as possible
[618]
Since being able to see small details is more important than saving bottom part of screen space
[626]
"Store tactical map by scenery": if
[630]
disabled, Tactical map in every battle will be reset to default zoom level.
[635]
When enabled, it will remember your tactical map zoom that was used on that map, and
[641]
every time you fight on it
[643]
it will be the same as used previously. If you always use default zoom, this setting doesn't matter.
[651]
This is the end of the first part of settings video seri-es. All comments about what settings works best for you, and
[659]
especially if you explain what advantage it offers, are welcome under this video.
