6 Common Acquisition and Divestiture Challenges for Drilling & Completion - YouTube
Channel: Quorum Software
[1]
hey guys Matthew montt here I've got
[4]
Brooke Ryan with me she's one of our
[6]
customer success managers here at Quora
[8]
it's working specifically on the wellies
[10]
team and so today we want to talk about
[12]
the acquisition and divestiture phase of
[15]
your company and the different things
[17]
that can happen on the software side and
[19]
how we address those challenges
[21]
AMD projects can be a stressful time
[23]
both for for people for your processes
[27]
and for your software with wellies we've
[30]
got a ton of experience dealing with
[32]
these projects and we're able to help
[34]
you navigate some of those challenges a
[36]
little more easily so today we're going
[38]
to be looking at six of the most common
[41]
emails that Brooke would get if one of
[43]
her customers is going through an A and
[45]
D phase so are you ready ready
[54]
first email this is from Steve stone
[57]
with stone Brothers operating he says
[60]
help historical data overload Brooke
[64]
we've just acquired 50 wells and we need
[66]
to get this data into wellies ASAP we
[68]
are taking over operations on two
[70]
drilling rigs in 30 days late as you do
[72]
in the event of an acquisition step one
[75]
should always be evaluating the data
[77]
that you're receiving this could be
[79]
coming in an Excel format it could be
[82]
from different software products or
[84]
databases so we need to evaluate the
[86]
quality of data you're getting before we
[88]
import bad data into the system step two
[91]
you can work with our team here at
[93]
wellies that has experience on data
[95]
import projects and we'll do a full
[97]
migration of that data into your wellies
[99]
database
[102]
if you have a really quick turnaround
[104]
like they just email and get started
[107]
right now right we can do a quick import
[110]
of well information job information so
[113]
that you have that info and wellies and
[115]
it's ready to go and you can continue
[116]
operations with that in the system
[118]
really quickly awesome sounds like we've
[121]
got them lined out all right next email
[126]
Steve stone again training tribulations
[130]
Brook we've got six new field personnel
[132]
with this acquisition and we've got a
[135]
few more people in the office who will
[136]
need to use well he's on a data on a
[138]
daily basis so how can we set up
[140]
training so wellies offers 24/7 support
[144]
for users in the field or in the office
[147]
rake users can call in at any time to
[150]
our support line and go through a quick
[152]
15 to 30 minute training on how to use
[154]
the system will connect to their
[156]
computer walk them through creating
[158]
reports and entering quality data
[160]
step-by-step in addition to that we can
[163]
also go on-site if needed and we offer
[165]
training for users in the office who
[169]
might need more in-depth training on
[171]
some of the admin functionality and
[174]
these guys they ask computer literate
[177]
can you guys handle that sure well these
[180]
works with hundreds of different
[181]
operators that have experience with
[184]
consultants and employees similar to
[187]
what you're describing here so we've
[190]
handled accounts with a multitude of
[193]
different
[194]
of experience with different products so
[198]
we're ready to take on the challenge all
[200]
right email number three Steve stone
[202]
again new basin new us Brooke this is a
[207]
new operating area for us and we're
[209]
thinking about adjusting some of our
[211]
reporting in our data capture to meet
[213]
the needs of this new area do you have
[215]
any recommendations on what we should do
[217]
sure one of the value propositions of
[220]
having a wellies account is you get your
[222]
very own customer success coordinator
[224]
our customer success coordinators work
[226]
with operators all over the US so they
[228]
have experience in all of the major
[230]
basins and operating areas so if you can
[234]
tell us what some of your challenges are
[236]
or the new operating area that you're in
[238]
we'll be able to provide a set of
[241]
reports guidance and have some knowledge
[244]
on regulatory information that might be
[247]
new to you different best practices that
[251]
are being used in that area so that's
[253]
one of the benefits of having your very
[255]
own customer success coordinator that's
[257]
what you're saying is you get Steve's
[258]
back got Steve's back awesome so Steve's
[262]
company has been developing this asset
[264]
and now they're ready to flip it their
[266]
relative ready to sell it to the highest
[268]
bidder and so what they're concerned
[270]
about mainly now is how can we deliver
[272]
clean accurate organized data to the
[276]
purchaser of our asset and we again
[279]
you've been through this a ton of times
[280]
Brooks got a lot of experience with
[282]
these types of projects so let's check
[285]
the Inbox
[286]
Steve stone again
[288]
it's the presentation slides Brooke
[292]
we're getting ready for a few
[293]
presentations to divest our Eagle Ford
[295]
asset do you have any reports that
[297]
others have used for this and how much
[299]
time should I expect to spend on this so
[302]
wellies has a suite of reports that are
[304]
out of the box already in your account
[305]
ready to go that you can use for
[307]
presentations board meetings potential
[310]
buyers these range from everything from
[313]
drilling performance reports across
[315]
different assets that you may be
[317]
drilling in all the way down to time
[320]
breakdowns graphs and things you can use
[322]
for different presentations depending on
[325]
the level of configuration that you want
[328]
to do to make this custom to your
[330]
operator these are already ready to go
[333]
or you can spend a few days working with
[336]
us to tailor these to what you're
[337]
looking for cool so let's look at the
[343]
next email here getting ready to sell
[346]
things are heating up Brooke I want to
[349]
make sure nobody is changing the data on
[351]
this asset as we plan to sell is there a
[353]
way that I can give read-only access to
[356]
this particular asset absolutely so well
[359]
ease let you control the amount of
[361]
access that your users have that could
[364]
be read-only for only a specific number
[366]
of wells or read-only for your entire
[368]
company so those users will be able to
[370]
log in pull data and for reports as they
[373]
need to but they can't actually change
[375]
data you can also lock or unlock certain
[379]
report dates or jobs that way you're
[382]
confident that no one is changing the
[384]
data after you've had a chance to review
[387]
and validate the information that's
[388]
there so nobody can go back behind me
[391]
and change costs or trends nobody can
[394]
change that information without view
[395]
hitting the unlock button excellent okay
[399]
here we go
[400]
sold from Steve stone moving to Florida
[404]
sounds like Steve's retiring on this one
[406]
Brooke we did it the asset has been sold
[408]
and now we need to provide the data to
[410]
the buyer how do we do this excellent
[413]
news so we can turn around a simple XML
[416]
file usually within a matter of minutes
[419]
or hours that you can provide to the
[421]
customer to use as they need the fire
[424]
would have access to that right away
[426]
through an FTP site also if they're an
[429]
existing wellies customer we can move
[431]
that information over to their wellies
[433]
account or set up a brand-new wellies
[435]
account if they wish to continue using
[438]
the database that the current operator
[440]
has been using cool Thank You Brooke the
[443]
the customer success model that we use a
[445]
while' is really unique and it helps our
[447]
customers better address these special
[450]
challenges that come up in the lifespan
[452]
of off of an operator and so this has
[456]
really helped wellies become one of the
[458]
leaders in well lifecycle reporting in
[460]
the industry thanks guys
[465]
[Music]
[472]
