topic that everybody's been asking me to

make a video on how to get your real
[9]
estate license now I'm giving you

instructions from my state in California

so if you're either out of the country

or in a different state it may vary

however I know that in general it pretty

much follows the same steps okay so

number one you have to be 18 because
[25]
your real estate license I know a lot of

can't get your stuff yet alright but you

can do those get ahead and I'm going to

cover that here as I take you through

the licensing process that way you can
[39]
get a an inside view into how I did
[41]
things and how I hit the ground running

right on the started okay so number one
[45]
you have to in the state of California
[47]
again remember this is the state of
[48]
California you have to have three
[50]
courses recertified courses completed in
[53]
order to qualify to take your state test
[55]
which is the next step so you have two
[57]
routes number one you can do it online
[59]
which I recommend now because it's
[61]
quicker easier and cheaper all right I
[63]
did the traditional way where I went to
[65]
a real estate company and I took the
[68]
courses there and a lot of them give you
[69]
incentives like they might you pay for
[72]
it and then as soon as you're done with
[73]
the courses and you close your first
[74]
deal they'll return the money for the
[77]
courses from or they'll add it to your
[79]
first commission so you have the route
[81]
of going to the company or you can do it
[83]
online I recommend you do it online it's
[84]
quicker cheaper easier and it'll shorten
[86]
the process a little bit it took me a
[88]
few months whereas online you can
[89]
probably do it in a month or two right
[91]
now people are going to ask me where do
[94]
I go online just google it there's so
[96]
many schools I didn't personally take
[97]
one just make sure they're certified and
[99]
you're good to go alright
[100]
I took real estate law practice and I
[105]
believe principles and there's three
[107]
another's a couple other courses you can
[109]
take but those are the ones that I would
[110]
suggest you take get it done again if
[112]
you go online they'll give you a list I
[114]
don't think it's so much easier alright
[116]
after you do that you pass your three
[118]
courses now you're certified to take the
[119]
state test in California you'll get a
[121]
letter in the mail that says basically
[123]
you're ready to go ahead and go online
[124]
and schedule your test right you
[127]
schedule the test I recommend you
[129]
schedule it three to four weeks out from
[130]
when you get the
[131]
that way you give yourself time to study
[133]
what I did was I didn't take a crash
[135]
course what I did was all the material
[137]
that I had I studied it for one hour
[139]
every single day at night for one month
[142]
before I took the test so let's say I
[144]
got my letter in September I scheduled
[147]
the test for September 31st and every
[150]
night for one hour regardless if it was
[152]
a weekday or weekend I studied for one
[153]
hour every single night about time I
[155]
took the test I finished it in 30
[157]
minutes and passed no problem alright
[159]
now there's a lot of crash courses out
[161]
there I'm just giving you my perspective
[163]
and what I did well a crash course
[165]
helped you I think so
[166]
but I would recommend all the material
[169]
that you study throughout the courses
[171]
you just memorize it and have it so
[173]
internalize it when you take the test
[174]
it's easy it's a hundred and fifty
[175]
question test and you have to get 70%
[177]
right what that means is you have to get
[179]
a hundred or five correct out of 150 to
[182]
pass all right
[183]
lastly once you pass the test
[186]
you basically have to get with a
[187]
brokerage and pay all your MLS dues and
[189]
board fees now I believe if I was to
[192]
round it off between getting your
[194]
licence paying all these fees or the
[196]
courses the state test and then the MLS
[198]
dues and the fees for your local Board
[200]
of Realtors right and then MLS is the
[203]
Multiple Listing Service I'm going to
[207]
guess you pay around maybe a hundred to
[208]
a thousand dollars I paid all my fees
[210]
upfront in this process which I
[212]
recommend you do the same that way once
[214]
you pass your state test you can just
[216]
get your license and you don't have to
[217]
wait I had to send all my stuff to
[219]
Sacramento and processing might take
[221]
some time so I recommend you pay
[222]
everything upfront now a lot of people
[224]
might say that's a lot of money but it's
[226]
a small price to pay for the potential
[227]
of income that you can earn alright now
[230]
I'll end it with this when I was doing
[233]
this the courses and before I took my
[235]
test I was already at the office I
[236]
started shadowing agents that's how I
[238]
hit the ground running so if you are
[240]
going to go the traditional route or
[241]
even if you go I recommend you start
[243]
looking into offices in the area contact
[245]
agents that are good and see if you can
[247]
go to their office take a look
[248]
start shadowing people start talking to
[250]
people who are in the business already
[251]
that way you can learn it inside and out
[253]
so when you get your license you're
[254]
already ahead you can get out there and
[256]
you can start making a lot of money
[257]
quick
[258]
alright so that's basically it for this
