what's up everybody thenx dividend
[2]
investor here
[4]
in this fun video i'll be telling you
[6]
what dividend stocks that 10 billionaire
[8]
investors own some stocks which i'm sure
[10]
you've never heard of before
[12]
then i'll end this video with a true
[14]
rags to riches story about a secretary
[16]
who invested her way to an 8 million
[18]
dollar portfolio
[20]
so please hit the thumbs up button
[22]
subscribe if you haven't yet and click
[24]
that bell notification
[26]
okay i found most of these billionaire
[28]
portfolios on the investorspodcast.com
[31]
please realize that just because a
[32]
billionaire owns a specific stock
[34]
doesn't mean it makes sense for you to
[36]
own it
[37]
billionaires often have very favorable
[39]
deals when they move into stocks deals
[41]
that we normal people don't have access
[43]
to
[44]
and as always don't make any financial
[46]
decisions based on this video
[48]
with that out of the way let's start
[50]
with everybody's favorite warren buffett
[53]
for all these billionaires i'll just
[54]
share dividend stocks that are at least
[56]
three percent of their portfolios
[58]
in buffett's case i'll specifically be
[60]
covering what berkshire hathaway owns as
[62]
that's buffett's majority holding
[65]
warren's number one stock by far at an
[67]
astounding 41 percent of berkshire
[69]
hathaway is apple computer which
[71]
coincidentally happens to be my largest
[73]
position as well
[75]
number two for him is bank of america
[76]
worth 14 of berkshire hathaway
[80]
then he has american express at 8.5
[82]
percent of the portfolio
[84]
after that he is coca-cola another i own
[86]
at seven point four percent of his
[88]
portfolio
[90]
next is kraft heinz at four point five
[92]
percent
[93]
then he has moody's at three percent
[95]
and finally his last material dividend
[98]
stock is verizon at three percent of the
[99]
portfolio
[101]
he actually owns a bunch of other
[103]
dividend stocks like chevron kroger visa
[106]
abbey and some others but the ones i
[108]
already mentioned are his largest
[109]
positions
[110]
okay now let's move on to another famous
[112]
billionaire investor and that's bill
[114]
gates
[115]
gates is known to be a shrewd investor
[117]
and he and his former wife are now the
[119]
top farmland owners in the united states
[121]
having acquired more than 269 000 acres
[124]
over the past decade
[126]
that might seem strange until you learn
[128]
that farmland returned an average of 11
[130]
per year between 1992 and 2020 according
[133]
to research from farm together
[135]
his growing investments in farmland also
[137]
fits into some of his stated charitable
[139]
objectives
[141]
now many billionaires are not very
[142]
transparent about all their assets
[145]
this portfolio for bill gates from
[146]
investors podcast doesn't include his
[148]
microsoft shares but i believe that he
[150]
owns about one percent of the company
[151]
still which alone is worth 30 billion
[153]
dollars
[154]
no i'm long microsoft
[157]
nor does this list include all his
[159]
assets and cascade investments which is
[161]
his private investment company which
[162]
also holds a dividend position in deer
[164]
the company which makes the famous john
[166]
deere tractors
[167]
anyway we see that gates's largest
[169]
position is in berkshire hathaway though
[171]
berkshire itself doesn't pay a dividend
[173]
the largest dividend position at a huge
[175]
11 percent of gates portfolio is waste
[177]
management a favorite of many dividend
[179]
investors
[180]
after that we see a dividend aristocrat
[182]
in caterpillar at nine percent of his
[184]
portfolio a company i'm long in
[186]
then about six percent of his portfolio
[188]
is in canadian national railway
[191]
then 4.5 percent of his portfolio is
[193]
another favorite of many and that's
[195]
walmart another dividend aristocrat
[198]
then about four percent of his portfolio
[200]
is in crown castle international which
[202]
is a wreath that owns cell towers and
[204]
networking fiber and such
[207]
then he has another dividend aristocrat
[208]
in ecolab which is a chemical materials
[210]
company and that's 3.8 percent of his
[212]
portfolio
[214]
slowly over the years gates has been
[215]
diversifying out of some of his
[217]
microsoft shares and into other things
[218]
but as i mentioned he still owns a ton
[221]
that being said an analysis was done and
[223]
they concluded that his net worth could
[225]
be a lot more for you just held onto all
[226]
his microsoft shares rather than
[228]
diversify out of it
[229]
but i doubt he's losing too much sleep
[231]
over it
[233]
okay let's move on
[235]
the third of ten legendary billionaire
[237]
investors i'm going to talk about is
[238]
howard marks
[239]
marx is admired in the investment
[241]
community for his memos which detail his
[243]
investment strategies and insights into
[244]
the economy and which are posted
[246]
publicly on his oak tree website
[248]
buffett once said when i see memos from
[250]
howard marks my mail they're the first
[252]
thing i open and read i always learn
[254]
something and that goes double for his
[256]
books
[257]
marx's top position at almost 10 percent
[260]
of his portfolio is in the dividend
[261]
stock chesapeake energy which is in the
[264]
oil and natural gas industry
[266]
his next dividend position is star bulk
[268]
carriers at about 9.5 of his portfolio
[271]
which is a shipping company
[273]
i've honestly never looked at that
[275]
company before but i bet you shippers
[277]
are a great place to be right now with
[278]
all the desire to speed up the supply
[280]
chain
[281]
star belt carriers has an interesting
[282]
dividend policy that lets their board of
[284]
directors declare a dividend based on
[286]
the number of ships and the cash balance
[287]
per ship
[289]
i'll need to dig into them more because
[290]
it's always fun to learn about companies
[292]
you haven't explored before
[294]
next at around nine percent of marx's
[296]
portfolio is vistacore an electricity
[298]
and power generation company
[300]
then his next dividend stock is
[302]
americold realty trust at seven percent
[304]
of his portfolio which is the world's
[306]
largest publicly traded reit focused on
[308]
temperature-controlled warehouses i.e
[310]
places that store refrigerated things
[311]
also known as reefer which itself is a
[313]
loaded term
[315]
his last big dividend position is ally
[317]
financial a bank financials holding
[318]
company
[319]
okay let's move on
[321]
the next billionaire in this list which
[323]
is in no particular order is ray dalio
[325]
the famed bridgewater founder
[328]
his largest holding is spy at 5.4
[331]
percent of his portfolio
[332]
then he has walmart at 4.7 percent
[335]
then his next largest dividend stock is
[337]
when i'm long in and procter gamble at
[339]
four percent of his portfolio
[341]
then he has jnj at around three percent
[343]
coca-cola at 2.8 percent pepsi at 2.5
[346]
percent all of which i'm long in and
[347]
then costco 2 and mcdonald's at 2 which
[350]
i'm also long in
[352]
okay let's move on to the fifth
[353]
billionaire and that's famed activist
[355]
investor carl icahn
[357]
his largest dividend holding is in his
[360]
own company icon enterprises at 54 of
[362]
his portfolio
[364]
after that he has occidental petroleum
[366]
at six percent of his portfolio
[368]
the next dividend payer is chenier
[370]
energy at almost six percent of his
[372]
portfolio
[373]
then he is newell brands at five percent
[375]
of his portfolio a consumer
[377]
discretionary housewares company which
[378]
owns brands you might recognize like
[380]
rubbermaid his last dividend sock that's
[382]
at least three percent of his portfolio
[384]
is xerox now that's a name you don't
[386]
hear much these days
[388]
okay the sixth of ten legendary
[389]
billionaire investors is bill miller
[392]
he became famous for being the s p 500
[394]
for 15 straight years
[396]
but he lost 90 percent of his net worth
[398]
when he made leverage bets on bear
[399]
stearns freddie mac and other financial
[401]
stocks in 2008
[403]
and after losing almost everything he
[405]
put his remaining money on amazon and on
[407]
bitcoin where he was buying at an
[409]
average cost of 500 a coin and amazingly
[412]
after a few years became a billionaire
[413]
again
[415]
today his largest dividend stock is adt
[417]
the security and alarm company at almost
[419]
four percent of his portfolio
[422]
his next largest dividend position is
[424]
one main holding a consumer finance and
[426]
insurance company which is 3.4 percent
[428]
of his portfolio
[430]
and the last big dividend stock in his
[432]
portfolio is diamondback energy a
[434]
natural gas and oil company at three
[435]
percent of his portfolio
[437]
diamondbacks ticker is fang f-a-n-g
[440]
and i wonder how many people invested in
[443]
it because they thought that it was the
[444]
company that everyone talks about when
[445]
they're using the facebook amazon apple
[447]
netflix google
[448]
acronym okay let's move on
[451]
the seventh legendary billionaire
[453]
investor is seth clarman the man who's
[455]
averaged 20 compounded returns for
[457]
decades
[458]
his first dividend stock is intel which
[460]
is 10 of his portfolio
[462]
after that is a small yielder in a
[464]
well-known company ebay at 8.5 percent
[466]
of his portfolio then at around five
[468]
percent of his portfolio is micron
[470]
technology another semiconductor company
[473]
then at 3.5 percent of his portfolio is
[476]
willis towers-watson a financials
[478]
insurance brokers dividend company
[481]
okay let's continue
[483]
the next legendary billionaire investor
[485]
is monish pabrae a big follower of
[487]
buffett's
[488]
monish has a whopping 47 of his
[491]
portfolio in dividend company micron
[492]
technology
[494]
i guess you could say that billionaires
[496]
are quite bullish on semiconductors
[497]
these days
[498]
okay let's move on
[500]
the ninth billionaire investors bill
[502]
ackman the famous activist investor and
[505]
founder of pershing square capital
[506]
management
[508]
bill's largest holding is the dividend
[510]
company lowe's and it's 22 percent of
[512]
his portfolio the next dividend stock is
[514]
restaurant brands international at 15
[516]
percent of his portfolio
[519]
his last dividend payer is domino's
[521]
pizza at 10.5 percent of his portfolio
[523]
nice
[524]
if you haven't been to domino's lately i
[526]
recommend it they've really turned
[527]
things around
[529]
okay the last billionaire investor i'm
[531]
covering is david tepper the founder of
[533]
appaloosa management and the owner of
[534]
the carolina panthers nfl team
[537]
here's a fun fact david tepper keeps a
[540]
pair of brass testicles in a prominent
[542]
spot on his desk at work a present from
[544]
former employees
[546]
he rubs them for luck during the trading
[547]
day to get a laugh out of his colleagues
[550]
he also gave his 67 million dollar gift
[552]
to my alma mater carnegie mellon and
[555]
they named their graduate business
[556]
school after him
[558]
his number one dividend company's
[559]
occidental petroleum at 4.68 of its
[562]
portfolio followed by micron
[564]
technologies of 4.65 and macy's at 3.77
[569]
of course there are lots of other
[570]
billionaires out there like elon musk
[572]
who primarily owns tesla jeff bezos
[574]
who's number one holding his amazon
[576]
larry ellison with oracle
[578]
there is bernard arnaut whose majority
[579]
holdings are lvmh moai hennessy louis
[582]
vuitton and there's mark zuckerberg who
[584]
obviously holds meta aka facebook
[586]
and don't forget larry page and sergey
[588]
brin who primarily own google or the
[591]
waltons who own a ton of walmart's stock
[593]
but those folks aren't considered famous
[595]
investing billionaires
[597]
okay now i want to tell you a true rags
[599]
to riches story about a secretary named
[601]
sylvia bloom who invested her way to an
[603]
almost eight figure portfolio
[605]
mrs balloon was born to eastern european
[607]
immigrants and grew up in brooklyn
[609]
during the great depression
[610]
she attended public schools and went to
[612]
night school to get a college degree
[615]
she joined a law firm as a secretary
[617]
married a firefighter and lived in a low
[619]
end rent control department
[621]
she remained as secretary for almost
[622]
seven decades until she retired at the
[624]
age of 96.
[626]
now those days secretaries helped the
[628]
bosses with various non-work functions
[630]
one of sylvia's responsibilities was to
[632]
do stock trades on her boss's behalf
[634]
she would communicate the stock buys he
[636]
wanted to do to his broker and then she
[638]
would do the same stock for herself but
[640]
in a smaller amount since she only had a
[642]
secretary salary
[644]
this continued on for decades and over
[646]
time she became more savvy to investing
[649]
when she died her portfolio was worth
[651]
more than nine million dollars
[653]
none of her friends or family knew about
[655]
the massive wealth that the simple
[657]
secretary had created over her life
[658]
because she had lived a very
[659]
non-frivolous lifestyle
[661]
in her will she left millions to help
[664]
out needy students
[666]
so what can you learn from her
[668]
well a path to wealth with a high
[670]
likelihood of success is to live
[672]
frugally and to invest in decent
[673]
companies for decades
[675]
sylvia knew what it was like to not have
[677]
money and that helped frame the way she
[679]
lived even when she did have money
[682]
happiness doesn't come from money though
[683]
obviously you need a certain amount of
[685]
it to have your basic needs met
[687]
of course it's normal to always want
[689]
more a better car a bigger house
[691]
whatever
[692]
but i urge you to refrain from
[694]
constantly spending more and instead
[695]
just keep investing in a diverse
[697]
portfolio of companies that you think
[698]
will meet your short and long term goals
[701]
forget about the point one percent of
[702]
people who make it big overnight on some
[704]
random lucky move
[705]
for each of those people who got lucky
[707]
there are probably 99 people who tried
[709]
the same get rich quick thing and failed
[712]
slow and steady works just don't give up
[714]
when things go south and you'll
[715]
eventually win
