I'm doing my master's from NIT Trichy because now I'm on campus.

Jokes apart Today's topic is very important

I thought that rather than making videos on small points, let me make a video on this

whole topic of the Mtech stipend I will clear every doubt that may come to

your mind That's a lot for giving this much love to

my vlog the first thing that comes in our mind is

who gives us this Mtech stipend The stipend of mtech is given by two authority

Students who study Mtech in IIT, NIT, IIIT, or Central University get a stipend from MHRD.

They just have to take admission in the college and stipend starts coming to them

Second category people are of AICTE, those who are doing Mtech from private colleges

or state government college or state universities, their stipend is provided by AICTE

These are the most important points You have to do nothing for the MHRD stipend

For the stipend of AICTE, you have to fill the form on the website of AICTE

What is the amount of stipend?

And how it gets deducted?

First of all, you need to know that the stipend is ₹12400/ month for a Mtech student.

IIT, NIT, and IIIT have various types of rules You have to give attendance

In some IITS or NITS, I will not name any specific institute but I will put them in

a general category Some IIT'S, NITS, and IIITS are those where

you have to mark attendance only once This means in a working day you will go and

sign the register or mark it on the biometric system.

So your present will be marked This will not deduct your stipend

In some IIT, NIT, and IIIT you have to mark the attendance twice like IIT ROORKEE and

NIT Rourkela Here you have to mark attendance in the morning

and afternoon.

So stipend is deducted in such a way that if you are not present in class for a day

In an institute that takes attendance only once, then your stipend of ₹400 will be

Deducted for that day In places where the system of 2 attendance

is present if you are not able to mark attendance of morning and mark it on the evening

Then ₹200 will be deducted from your stipend So it can be good and bad both

This does not happen with students of AICTE and they always get the stipend

They just have to pass the exams The backlog should be clear

An important thing is that who gets the stipend The stipend is provided to those students

who cracked the GATE exam and took admission in their college through GATE.

IIT'S, NITS, and IIIT have two kinds of course One is self-sponsored and other is sponsored

and one is normal who come through GATE in self-sponsored, you have to pay fees and

you will not get any stipend because you have given written and interview there.

Sponsored category are those students who came from the company and the company pays

their fees and they also don't get the stipend Students who took admission with the help

of a GATE score gets the stipend Generally, a stipend of 24 months is provided

to students In AICTE, they have other rules for private

or state government colleges.

When you take admission through GATE then by their rules you will be allotted the stipend.

MHRD and AICTE are different from each other.

The next question that comes to mind is that do you have to return the stipend if you leave

Mtech in between??

I'm observing one thing from last 2 years that one rule is made in which some IIT and

NIT make student sign a bonafide and it's written in the bonafide that If you leave

the course of Mtech in between the duration, then you have to return all the stipend that

you got till date.

And some NIT and IIT don't ask back for the stipend because they think that stipend is

given for teaching assistantship duty You have to give 4 hrs per week to take labs

of BTech students and to check exam papers of them

You get ₹12400 per month for that teaching assistantship

So some colleges think that if you have done the work of TA duty so you can hold the stipend

and you earned that money for your work For eg, one of my friends shifted from IIT

Mandi to IIT Bombay so both the colleges are giving him the stipend.

Which is the best bank for a stipend?

Bank for stipend depends on IITS TO IIT'S and NIT to NIT'S.

If you have your account in SBI then it's very good and if you don't have an account

in SBI then open it because most of the IIT and NIT give their stipend in SBI banks only

After that many companies give their salary to SBI banks

You must have an account in SBI bank I suggest you open an SBI account if you don't

have one.

The next important thing is that when will you get your stipend as online classes are

going on The stipend is given after physical verification

of students After 2-3 months of your admission, the college

performs your physical verification with all of your documents like TC, migration, and

mark sheet of 10th, date of birth.

Earlier college used to call directly for verification and stipend was used to get started

from 1st month onwards Last year due to corona, physical verification

didn't happen Most of the colleges performed online verification

of students and their stipend started Most of the NIT'S paused the stipend and offered

students a time slot to do physical verification Or after 6 months they started their online

verification to start the stipend In NIT Trichy, it was told to students that

a window of 3 days was given and 3 slots were available for students to visit and perform

your physical verification After that our stipend started coming.

IIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur started it way much earlier.

The next important question is that if I got into an internship then will I get my stipend?

If you get an internship then your stipend will be paused if your internship is paid

If you get money for doing an internship then you will not get any stipend.

If you thinking to hide your internship from your college and wanted to make money from

a stipend as well as an internship then it's the wrong activity and you may get into trouble

so don't try this kind of activity.

If you get a paid internship then you can inform your TPO of the college about the same

so that your stipend will be paused.

Otherwise, you may have to face a lot of problems so don't think much about this
