zero point one percent lower yesterday the聽 asx finished on a slightly positive note聽聽

led by miners and tech stocks that lifted the聽 index the morning session was a muted period聽聽

trading lower by 0.3 before rising fractionally聽 from lunchtime the market ended up closing 0.1聽聽

or 8 points higher at 7407 points despite wall聽 street taking the day off there was plenty of聽聽

economic data released weekly jobless claims have聽 hit a new pandemic low point that's unclear as to聽聽

whether that means more americans are in work聽 or simply leaving the workforce all together聽聽

following the biden government's vaccine mandate聽 requiring all employers with more than 100 staff聽聽

to enforce employees to become vaccinated the聽 us economy while strong is growing at a slower聽聽

pace than anticipated with supply chain聽 disruptions continuing to hamper growth聽聽

turning our attention now to europe and the聽 stock 600 rose by 0.4 percent lifted primarily聽聽

by tech stocks as leisure and travel companies聽 continued to struggle amidst covert induced woes聽聽

oil prices fell on thursday as traders wait聽 to see how opec will respond to u.s later oil聽聽

reserve releases brent crude futures slipped 0.4聽 percent to 81 us dollars and 91 cents while west聽聽

texas intermediate crude futures fell 0.6 to聽 trade at 77 us dollars and 90 cents a barrel聽聽

on the other hand gold prices rose following聽 a weakening of the us dollar spot gold rose by聽聽

0.12 percent to trade at 1 790 us dollars and聽 70 cents per ounce and us gold futures gained聽聽
