The FUTURE Of Decentralized Video IS HERE (Theta Is Poised For BIG GAINS) - YouTube

Channel: BitBoy Crypto

[0]
Theta is where the future of streaming video is heading.
[3]
And this year is going to be its breakout year.
[5]
Let's cut to the chase.
[7]
Streaming video needs Theta badly.
[9]
Streaming platforms are becoming more and more siloed and limiting on free speech.
[14]
We are rooting for Theta to succeed.
[16]
And you should too. Why?
[18]
Well, I'm glad you asked.
[19]
Because in this video,
[21]
we give you an update on Theta and its TFUEL token.
[24]
Let's get it!
[29]
Welcome to BitBoy Crypto!

[42]
In this video, we take a look at Theta.
[45]
Theta is a blockchain-based streaming platform
[48]
that is set to change how video content is distributed online.
[52]
Theta is doing much more than simply decentralizing video content or putting videos on the blockchain.
[57]
They are actually innovating in ways that will solve some major problems
[61]
that are preventing the streaming industry from scaling and improving your user experience.
[67]
Imagine that established tech companies are going to need to use Theta's blockchain infrastructure
[73]
if they want to stream higher resolution content,
[76]
stream to remote areas,
[78]
or protect the copyright of content creators.
[80]
Oh, how the turntables have turned.
[84]
In our last video on Theta,
[86]
I gave an in-depth overview of how this project should help improve streaming quality and availability,
[92]
but today, we're going to get into some recently announced innovations
[95]
around digital rights management.
[98]
If you aren't familiar with the term,
[100]
digital rights management (DRM) is basically just a set of tools and technologies
[105]
that are used to enforce copyright online.
[107]
After file sharing disrupted the music and film industries nearly 20 years ago,
[112]
regulatory agencies and legacy corporations have been trying their best to keep up with the times,
[117]
finding new ways to enforce the copyright protections on their content.
[122]
However, most of these DRM solutions have created a bad user experience.
[128]
And they don't do that great of a job either.
[130]
Videos on streaming platforms are incorrectly flagged on a regular basis,
[135]
while some of the worst and most dangerous offenders slip through the cracks.
[140]
And we know this because we go through this seemingly every day.
[143]
Obviously, this is a massive pain point for many of the tech giants like YouTube
[148]
who are forced to comply with copyright enforcement in order to stay in business.
[152]
Theta was recently awarded a patent for a game-changing technology
[155]
that will solve this problem using NFTs.
[159]
Look, I know that copyright and patents can ruffle some feathers in the crypto community
[164]
because we take pride in our open source values.
[166]
I get it.
[166]
But when you do some research into the mechanics of how this will work,
[170]
the user experience will actually be much better
[173]
than the copyright enforcement regime that we have to put up with today.
[176]
Instead of punishing its users and playing the impossible game of Whac-a-Mole
[181]
with content creation,
[182]
Theta is creating a system where there's no incentive to pirate or copy someone else's content
[188]
because you can get paid for simply watching the original version.
[193]
If you pirate copyrighted material,
[196]
you're only getting it for free.
[198]
But when you stream on Theta, you can earn TFUEL,
[201]
Theta's gas token,
[203]
just for watching.
[204]
And the creator will be getting paid, too.
[206]
I like that.
[207]
This is a better deal for everyone and totally removes the need to pirate content in the first place.
[213]
Think about it this way.
[214]
Getting some content for free is a pretty bad deal compared to getting paid for everything you watch.
[219]
This might sound like magic,
[222]
but as you watch the streams on Theta,
[224]
your excess upload bandwidth will be shared with other users.
[228]
This helps the network operate the way it needs to
[231]
and allows users to earn money just for using the platform.
[234]
Even though you don't have to pay for the streams on Theta,
[238]
the NFT authentication is still needed to ensure
[242]
that the correct content creator is being paid by the network.
[245]
There may also be some special access content that could require NFT authentication.
[251]
Go ahead and authenticate yourself on the BitSquad by hitting that subscribe button while you're at it.
[256]
Also, you might be able to win 5 Ethereum by subscribing to the channel.
[260]
You can get the details on our contest down below in the video description.
[264]
But Theta's new DRM system will use NFTs to verify digital ownership of all the content on its blockchain,
[270]
but the patent also extends to other use cases like ticketing for concerts and sporting events.
[275]
NFTs are best known for digital collectibles and art,
[279]
but this is just scratching the surface of the potential use cases for this technology.
[283]
NFTs are basically certifications of unique digital or physical items,
[288]
but they can also be used as unique identifiers,
[291]
showing that the holder has permission to access certain accounts, content or events.
[295]
This breakthrough is going to be a key factor in Theta achieving mainstream adoption.
[300]
Huge tech and media corporations like YouTube, Twitch, Samsung and countless others
[306]
have taken an interest in Theta
[308]
with even investments in the platform
[310]
joining the team as advisors and sponsoring development.
[313]
However, when it comes to actually moving their libraries of content on Theta's network,
[318]
most large media companies have been sitting on the sidelines over concerns
[322]
that they would not be able to properly manage copyright on a decentralized platform.
[328]
With that problem solved,
[330]
media organization and content creators would be much more likely
[333]
to harness the power of Theta's decentralized network
[337]
to bring a higher quality experience to their customers and fans.
[341]
Since Theta has patents on these innovations,
[343]
companies like Google or Amazon will be unable to copy the framework for use on their own platforms
[350]
but will need to onboard their existing customers onto the network
[354]
if they want to take advantage of what this technology offers.
[358]
And they really won't have a choice if they want to offer better quality video to more areas.
[364]
The Theta team has promised that the blockchain will always be open source
[369]
to allow for full transparency and audits.
[371]
But with such powerful competition in the traditional world,
[375]
patents are being used as a protective measure for certain innovations
[380]
to establish a claim on the ideas before they are legally obtained by someone else.
[386]
At least this way, technology is under the control of a decentralized network of token holders
[392]
instead of a single corporation.
[395]
In a recent AMA, the Theta team also promised that they would not be aggressive with their patents,
[401]
but they also indicated that they intend on filing hundreds or even thousands more.
[406]
In addition to their video streaming capabilities,
[408]
Theta also has an NFT marketplace that has attracted some huge names.
[412]
Just this week,
[413]
pop star Katy Perry announced that she will be selling her first NFT through the Theta marketplace.
[420]
She sold an NFT and she liked it.
[423]
If you want to see fireworks for Theta,
[426]
make sure to hit that like button while you're at it.
[428]
In their AMA last week though,
[430]
the team said to expect more big announcements and partnerships
[432]
in the following weeks and months.
[434]
Theta's 3.0 is finally launched this week introducing TFUEL staking and burning to the mainnet.
[440]
Just like the burn mechanism in Ethereum's EIP-1559,
[443]
TFUEL will be burned with each transaction taking a little bit out of circulation each time.
[448]
TFUEL is currently an inflationary asset since it's printed in order to pay the people who operate the network,
[454]
but the new burn mechanism should counteract much of this inflation,
[459]
making TFUEL more valuable.
[461]
Theta will also now be allowing Linux users to run Edge Nodes after the update,
[466]
which should bring even more users to the network.
[469]
Theta's breakthrough patents and strong partners are setting it up for mainstream adoption.
[474]
It's only a matter of time before everyone starts catching on.
[477]
That's all I got.
[478]
Be blessed.
[479]
BitBoy out.
