Why I Bought Royal Caribbean's Crashing Stock | Investments: On Location - YouTube
Channel: unknown
[0]
so here we go! eight shares, review, swipe up
[6]
what's up guys it's Chris here from the
ovation of the Seas Royal Caribbean
[11]
cruise line I'm so excited today to talk
about Royal Caribbean to see if it's a
[15]
good investment look at the company see
if it's worth it
[18]
with another episode of investments on
location let's check it out so you know
[26]
I'm just an average 20 year old I'm not
I don't work for Royal Caribbean it's
[29]
not an ad, not a sponsored video, I'm
just an interested investor and Royal
[33]
Caribbean is a strong company I've always
cruise with Royal and I've always
[37]
loved Royal Caribbean and I was trying
to dig a little deeper to see if it's a
[40]
good investment or not the reason. The reason why Royal Caribbean stock caught my eye is
[44]
because I've always loved Royal
Caribbean it's such a great company the
[48]
thing is it's been beaten up over the
past year over the past five years the
[53]
growth has been insane but over the last
year it's stagnated now what's really
[56]
interesting is over the past three
months it has been beating up
[59]
consistently down, the price right now
it's about $113. so it's caught my eye I
[65]
looked deeper into it and I was thinking...
is it a buy? luckily we're on this
[70]
Royal Caribbean vacation and I got some
insight into the stock into the company
[74]
so we're in the Windjammer cafe right
now it's actually one of the best places
[79]
to eat on the ship. unlimited food, buffet can't get better than that!
[82]
the great thing about Royal Caribbean
that I found is in the news there's a
[86]
lot of growth a lot of growth recently
Royal Caribbean sister companies
[90]
celebrity came out with their celebrity
edge ship one billion-dollar ship that's
[95]
right one billion dollars that's what it
costs to make ships nowadays and this
[100]
ship is full of innovation just like the
Ovation the Seas is full of innovation
[104]
what I've found with my research is that
Royal Caribbean puts half of all of its
[108]
profits in the innovation just like here
on the Ovation the seas we have the
[113]
ifly simulator which is like skydiving we
have the North Star which brings you 300
[119]
feet into the air we have all these
innovative things that you don't see
[122]
anywhere else you also have the
FlowRider you have these innovative
[126]
restaurants innovation is the name of
the game when it comes to Royal
[129]
Caribbean and that's what sets them
apart what's really great about world
[134]
Caribbean is they're focusing not only
on innovation but they're focusing on
[138]
what's best for the environment their
new icon style ship which is the new
[142]
fleet of ships coming out in 2022 has
clean energy with very little emissions
[148]
to the environment which is going to be
huge going forward something else that's
[152]
really important to note with Royal
Caribbean.
[155]
*cruise man singing*
[160]
something else is really
important to note with Royal Caribbean
[163]
cruise cruise industry in general let's
keep walking is that with the aging
[168]
population in the US and across the
world people are looking for luxury
[171]
vacations and with cruise and leisure
activities like these it doesn't get
[176]
better than that that's why my
projection and a lot of analyst projections
[179]
see the cruise industry just growing
exponentially we've already seen
[183]
exponential growth in the cruise
industry and it's just gonna get more
[185]
and more so a little word of caution and
what actually got me concerned I was
[192]
looking at this stock in this company in
general is the last time we had a
[195]
recession back about a decade ago Royal
Caribbean stock dropped from almost 90
[200]
percent it went down to about $40 and
that's really scary given the current
[205]
situation of our economy so that has me
a little bit concerned you know you
[208]
always want to be cautious when you're
investing but on that note looking at
[214]
the ship and walking around and seeing
the infrastructure of Royal Caribbean
[217]
itself I don't see this company going
anywhere, another thing to worry
[222]
about is the debt Royal Caribbean has a
really large amount of debt because
[226]
they're always buying new ships they're
buying
[228]
new renovations new ways to make their
ships better and to improve now this
[232]
debt is worrisome for investors and I'm
not gonna lie I'm worried about it too
[237]
but seeing the product of that debt and
seeing what they're buying and what
[241]
they're investing in as a company it
makes me feel a little better about this
[245]
company a little better about this
investment knowing that they're pretty
[248]
sure to get a return. part of the reason
that I want to do these investments on
[252]
location segments is because when you're
actually in the location you're actually
[256]
seeing the product or the service and
the company it changes your perspective
[259]
of the actual stock and the stock price
because it gives you a feel of what
[263]
they're offering
now the ovation of the Seas is the fourth
[266]
largest world Caribbean ship in their
fleet
[268]
it holds nearly five thousand passengers
but the great thing about this ship it
[273]
doesn't feel like there's five thousand
passengers the way the ships laid out
[277]
with different activities everything
feels very spread out very open not
[280]
crowded what I like about Royal
Caribbean too is they're committed to
[284]
quality their services the staff and the
food are all top-notch the staff you
[290]
feel like your friends they talk to you
you get to know them they learn your
[294]
name the foods high quality you have
different different restaurants all
[299]
across the ship and the shows are also
phenomenal something else I really want
[304]
to mention is that Royal Caribbean's all
across the world this ship the Royal
[308]
Caribbean ovation the Seas actually was
stationed in China originally it came
[312]
from Germany went to China and now it's
based off of Seattle going to Alaska and
[317]
that's not all, Royal Caribbean focuses
on all across the world all across the
[321]
nation going from Alaska to the
Caribbean International cruises they are
[326]
international and they don't plan to
stop they plan to keep expanding along
[330]
with the market because the market is
definitely there
[338]
Wow
that's so cool that's just an example of
[344]
how Royal Caribbean never stops
innovating and just creating the best
[348]
experience for their guests.
[350]
so we're here with Joff and Angelle, two of the people
[352]
who have made our cruise experience the
most magical experience that we could
[355]
have asked for, hello, and I just wanted to
ask them what stands out about Royal
[359]
Caribbean and what's your favorite part
about working here?
[361]
Well I've been with the company
[363]
for twelve years since 2008 the company
is great the company's very bold it's 50
[368]
years old this year, in fact that 50 years
and bold. it's about designing new
[372]
innovative contemporary and different
ships you know just not like the
[378]
standards they will get to walk on
and say "wow" and I know you've done that on this cruise.
[384]
it's all about shipbuilding and just being the best
company possible. Great thank you, Joff!
[389]
Angelle, what about you? yeah for me it's so great to be proud to walk back
[394]
to the ship and think that's where I
live that's where I work I do this since
[397]
2008 together with my husband and what I
really love about Royal Caribbean is
[401]
they are able to keep the
couples together and doing it together
[404]
creating such a great atmosphere for the
people who work here but also to us
[410]
thank you so much guys really appreciate
it
[412]
all right so looking around the ship
talking about all the perks of Royal
[416]
Caribbean comes to the conclusion that
despite the large amount of debt that
[420]
they have and despite some of the recent
news and tragedies that Royal
[423]
Caribbean's been facing
I really think Royal Caribbean has a
[426]
strong foundation as a company they have
a lot of growth potential with 18 ships
[431]
in the works and in the plans to be
made and a lot of innovation that's
[435]
gonna really set them apart in the
cruise ship industry which is just
[438]
growing by the day so what I've done is
I've taken a thousand dollars out of my
[443]
acorns account which I've been using to
save up for a real estate and I'm gonna
[447]
take this thousand dollars putting it
into my Robinhood account and I'm gonna
[451]
go ahead and invest in about eight or
nine shares of Royal Caribbean I'm gonna
[455]
do that here on camera the one thing is
is that I a little bit frugal and I
[461]
didn't get the internet package so I'm
gonna go ahead and make this purchase
[465]
when I get to the airport
so stay tuned and you'll see that there
[468]
as a disclaimer I want to remind you
that I'm not a financial advisor this is
[471]
not financial advice this is just me a
20 year old on my own financial
[475]
independence journey and sharing with
you what I'm doing and my thoughts on
[478]
the Royal Caribbean company all right
we're here in the and the airport right
[482]
now we just finished our Royal Caribbean
cruise and I got to say it was an
[485]
amazing experience it was great being
able to actually see the company see the
[490]
infrastructure and actually really get a
good grasp about what this company is
[494]
offering to it to its clients and to
guests -- I have to say seeing what
[498]
they're about learning about the revenue
I really love this company and I'm
[502]
all-in I'm going to invest $1,000 into
this company I've got to say hearing
[507]
that they make 12 billion dollars 12
billion dollars a year in revenue and
[511]
over half of that goes into innovation
it really that's my favorite part about
[515]
this company also they just released
their earnings and they beat their
[519]
expected earnings they also talked about
their guests and occupancy and they
[524]
actually are over a hundred and nine
percent occupancy on all their cruise
[529]
ships meaning that they're consistently
getting repeat customers repeat guests
[532]
and I really love the sound of that I
also really want to briefly touch a
[537]
couple other things I love about this
company that really make this a buy for
[540]
me number one I have to say it's their
redo of their private island Coca Cay
[545]
it's so different than Disney or
Carnival's private island where you go to
[549]
the beach, there's a volleyball court, and
that's it. with Royal Caribbean they
[553]
added a water park that added four or
five new beaches new bars five or six
[558]
new restaurants it's a whole entire
perfect day experience that makes people
[563]
an entire families draw to this location
it really makes it a place that you want
[567]
to go and you want to stay I also want
to talk about number two is Royal
[571]
Caribbean's sustainability program they
talk about by 2020 they want to reduce
[575]
35% of their emissions into the
atmosphere and they are their goal is to
[580]
get as sustainable
and as eco-friendly as possible and I
[584]
love the sound of that, that's the
direction we're heading. overall Royal
[587]
Caribbean is marketing to families and
they're marketing to really just everyone
[592]
with their private islands with their
services their offerings the different
[596]
ships and their growth alright so we're
gonna go ahead and purchase this world
[600]
Caribbean stock I have my Robinhood app
pulled up if you could see right here the
[604]
price today dipped a little bit which is
actually great for me a great time to
[608]
buy, to a 110 like I said over the past
year especially over the past three
[613]
months Royal Caribbean stock has dropped
significantly which is great as an
[617]
investor because I see huge long-term
potential one thing I want to note about
[622]
Royal Caribbean stock as I mentioned
before one thing to be aware of is the
[626]
last time we had a recession the stock
plummeted eighty to ninety percent which
[631]
is a little scary for investors and a
little scary for me since I'm gonna be
[633]
putting such a large amount into this
stock will for me $1,000 is a lot but
[639]
one thing one great thing that remember
is when a stock dips not to be concerned
[644]
this is a great time to average down
consistently buying and averaging your
[648]
price down so you're not losing that
much money because you're actually
[652]
decreasing your price and averaging with
the market. alright so I'm gonna go ahead
[655]
and start this buying process like I
mentioned I took a thousand dollars out
[659]
of my acorns account which is in my
savings account for real estate and I'm
[663]
putting it right into this world
Caribbean stock because I believe in
[666]
this company and that's just me
personally one note I want to say you
[669]
don't have to be a big shot investor you
don't have to have a lot of money to
[672]
begin investing in the stock market I'm
only using a thousand dollars a lot of
[676]
times I'll only do five hundred 100
whatever you have it's great to go ahead
[680]
and get started but I'm gonna go ahead
and make this big purchase this is the
[683]
biggest stock purchase I've ever done
that's about eight hundred and eighty five
[686]
that's just short of a thousand
I could do nine but I actually don't
[691]
have enough buying power at the moment
so here we go eight shares review swipe
[696]
up there we go awesome alright so I do
want to say one more note this is
[707]
actually Friday after hours
I don't usually buy after hours market
[711]
and when I do buy after hours I like to
buy on Webull but I love Robinhood and
[715]
because I plan on holding the stock and
long term I'm ok with buying it after
[719]
hours if there's small fluctuations over
the weekend small fluctuations on Monday
[723]
I'm ok with it because I plan on holding the stock
over the long term Royal Caribbean to me
[728]
is a long-term buy and hold we just hit
the 50-year anniversary on the Royal
[733]
Caribbean ship when we were actually on
it and to me it just showed how much
[737]
growth innovation this company has had
over 50 years and it's just gonna
[740]
continue to have so thank you so much
