TOP Upcoming Ipo Stock to Invest in 2021| Is Rivian IPO a Good Buy? - YouTube
Channel: InvestWsam
[0]
hey guys sam here what better way to
[1]
start a video than showing you guys the
[3]
rivian tank maneuver again it's an
[6]
awesome car but we're not going to go
[7]
into the specs although you should know
[9]
that the price tag on these cars ranges
[11]
from 70 000 to 80 000
[13]
but with that said in today's video
[15]
we'll be talking about rivian's ipo and
[19]
essentially why there is so much
[21]
excitement behind this ipo specifically
[25]
even though again there's going to be a
[26]
lot of competitors in the market such as
[28]
tesla again a lot of the bigger
[30]
brand names are shifting to that
[32]
electric space and even though you know
[34]
in china we have neo in europe well neo
[38]
is moving to europe as well but again
[40]
there's a lot of names out there but
[42]
these are the reasons as to why um
[44]
rivian specifically is very very
[46]
exciting but with that said
[48]
let's get to it so why is everybody so
[50]
excited about rivie and beside how
[52]
awesome and cool the car looks well
[55]
there's many reasons but the first
[56]
reason is that amazon is also excited
[58]
about rivien and so much so that they've
[61]
actually ordered roughly a hundred
[63]
thousand or they committed to ordering a
[65]
hundred thousand vehicles by the year
[67]
2030. again that's that's a lot and if
[71]
amazon an investor it makes you wonder
[73]
what could happen next is it a full
[75]
acquisition possibly but no one really
[77]
knows they're also the first to
[80]
essentially produce a truck electric
[83]
vehicle again it's the first truck
[86]
electric vehicle that's going to be
[88]
released to the market beating tesla
[90]
beating everybody else out there and so
[93]
that's pretty exciting because again
[95]
there was been there's been a demand for
[97]
electric trucks in general and you know
[100]
rivien is gonna be there in addition to
[103]
them just selling the experience as a
[106]
whole again one of their biggest mottos
[108]
is adventure and they want to bring
[109]
adventure to everybody
[111]
but bring it in a clean sustainable way
[114]
a lot of their vehicles scream adventure
[117]
i mean take a look at this
[121]
[Music]
[137]
you know also be pretty cool if you
[138]
smash that like button but with that
[141]
said again that's not taking into
[143]
account the increased demand or increase
[146]
year-over-year demand for ev vehicles
[149]
across the board whether we look at
[151]
china whether we look at europe whether
[152]
we look at the
[154]
u.s again there is increased number of
[156]
players over there but i really think
[158]
that the again the companies that will
[160]
dominate the market as with everything
[163]
else are the ones that focus on selling
[165]
the consumer and experience right a
[168]
product that brings about an experience
[170]
and an experience that's truly unique
[171]
and i think rivien is on their way to do
[174]
that but with that said let's talk about
[178]
some of the downsides and talk about the
[180]
ipo specifically so rivien is looking to
[183]
ipo pretty soon and they already filed
[186]
for ipo actually and so with that said
[189]
while there is a lot of exciting things
[190]
to take into account when we're looking
[192]
at potentially investing in rivien there
[195]
is also a few things that one should
[197]
take into account before investing um
[200]
and so some of the first thing is that
[202]
again the cards are still pre-delivery
[205]
uh they're looking to make their first
[206]
deliveries in late september which would
[208]
be any day now then and so there hasn't
[212]
been a lot of customer feedback as to
[215]
the performance of the car or there's
[217]
been any issues that they might see
[220]
but one thing that a lot of electric
[222]
vehicle makers struggle with is when
[224]
they expand or when demand picks up
[227]
sometimes their supply chain gets
[229]
crippled right and so it will be
[231]
interesting to see how they handle the
[233]
large scale in volume as they increase
[236]
demand month over month or quarter
[238]
quarter and then eventually year over
[240]
year to see if again their supply chain
[243]
system doesn't
[245]
fail them and no one will know in time
[248]
will tell if that's the case another
[250]
thing that we need to take into account
[251]
as we look at investing in ipos
[254]
especially ipos that have a lot of hype
[256]
is that in my opinion again this is not
[258]
financial advice but in my opinion it's
[261]
always a gamble to invest in ipos unless
[265]
you can get in with the institution and
[268]
investors right before and again
[270]
retail investors and all of us don't
[272]
have access to that it's usually larger
[274]
banks or larger corporations that have
[277]
access to the again to purchasing equity
[281]
prior to the stock
[282]
go in public and they usually get it at
[284]
a much much cheaper price and so because
[288]
we don't have that advantage we're
[290]
usually buying it really expensive and
[292]
then there's hype that comes along with
[294]
it and so you get a really expensive
[296]
share of whatever company that you're
[297]
looking to trade and the same thing can
[300]
very well happen with aribian there's
[302]
also another reason why i'm completely
[305]
against buying in ipos and that is the
[308]
lockup period right so the lock-up
[310]
period is essentially
[312]
when
[313]
people that work in the company get
[315]
portion of the shares or people insiders
[317]
that bought um shares prior
[320]
where they essentially need to hold on
[322]
to the stock so they can't
[324]
sell any of their shares for 180 days or
[328]
roughly six months so once that six
[331]
months is over there's a lot of people
[333]
that want to liquidate their shares
[334]
potentially driving the price even lower
[337]
after six months so what does that mean
[339]
for you you can potentially get a
[341]
cheaper price or you can get a cheaper
[343]
stock or cheaper shares in the company
[347]
after six months from the ipo date so
[351]
it's better to just be patient and wait
[353]
to get it at a reasonable price that you
[355]
think makes sense with the fundamentals
[357]
and you combine with the technicals and
[360]
you make it from there so what are my
[362]
final thoughts tank maneuver take my
[365]
money that car is sick okay the the
[368]
specs on it are pretty cool and if you
[369]
haven't looked at it i recommend that
[371]
you guys check it out uh but again this
[374]
is not a sales video so let me refocus
[376]
uh with that said the rivian company is
[380]
trying to make again a unique experience
[383]
for the consumers while creating a very
[386]
unique car for them when they ipo again
[390]
they're valued at roughly 70 to 80
[392]
billion dollars it's just a matter of
[394]
seeing how they hold how their supply
[396]
chain holds in you know the next six
[398]
seven even a year um and so after seeing
[402]
that then you can make a more
[403]
informative decision into whether you
[405]
should invest or not
[407]
as for the ipo goes
[410]
again
[411]
i personally don't ever recommend
[414]
investing in ipos just because
[417]
it's so volatile and you know you're not
[419]
getting a deal because there are
[421]
institutions that are getting
[423]
a much better deal heading in and you're
[426]
better off just waiting until the
[428]
lock-up period is over and people
[429]
liquidate their positions so what
[431]
happens you get cheaper shares down the
[434]
line so patience is key with that said
[437]
guys that's going to conclude our video
[438]
for today if this video was of any hope
