some great options for our sliding glass or patio聽
doors or any of the type of windows that open out聽聽

in large areas so what i've got here behind me聽
is a set of custom plantation shutters now we use聽聽
[20]
shutters a lot on slide glass doors because they聽
have a lot of functionality in them so the nice聽聽
[24]
thing about having the shutters is that you can聽
actually have it where you can have the top half聽聽
[29]
open separately from the bottom half which gives聽
you privacy in the room also covers wide distances聽聽
[34]
so if you had a standard six foot slider you could聽
cover it in two panels which is a nice option the聽聽
[39]
other way that makes it very efficient is that聽
depending on how your sliding glass door setup聽聽
[44]
is you can either have the panels open from the聽
center where you can actually slide them to a side聽聽
[49]
and open from the center if you had a really wide聽
one and you could go in and out of your sliding聽聽

glass door you could also have it where if you had聽
them put together where you could just slide them聽聽

all to one side and open from the side so if your聽
sliding glass door went from one direction you聽聽

could choose which way we designed these shutters聽
that they could slide with the sliding glass door聽聽

open up to a side or completely stack off聽
to either side so there are some really nice聽聽

features about having shutters for your sliding聽
glass doors so let's go ahead and take a look聽聽

at some of the other great options for sliding聽
glass doors another great option for sliding聽聽

glass doors is called a vertical cellular shade聽
some great options with the vertical cellular聽聽

shades is that you get a lot of function聽
energy efficiency and really good stacking聽聽

of the products so here's a great example so聽
here we've got if you have the sliding glass door聽聽

we have a vertical cellular shade that just聽
slides it's cordless you can do it motorized in聽聽

some applications but you just slide it back and聽
forth to wherever you want so if you're opening up聽聽

your sliding glass door you can open up this with聽
it and have the amount of airflow that you want聽聽

or traffic that you want and still have the shade聽

we've got a fabric this is a room darkening fabric聽
so no light will actually penetrate this fabric聽聽

so if you're in a bedroom area that has a slider聽
or you're in a family room and you have a tv聽聽

and you want to darken the room up really easily聽
you can just have one of these fabrics that's聽聽

room darkening you can also have this where it聽
can come from either direction left or right聽聽

or a center opening so if you had two of the same聽
fabrics together and you had a really light window聽聽

or you had a sliding glass door that opened聽
from the center you could have center opening聽聽

and as you can see here you can choose聽
the fabric so here we have a sheer fabric聽聽

so if you're in a room where you wanted to have聽
sheer and room darking so daytime you wanted this聽聽

and when you wanted to watch the movie you聽
could have that this is where you'd have a聽聽

dual slide application so you could have this聽
slid all the way across give you that sheer view聽聽

or light filtering privacy view and then when聽
you wanted it darker you would just slide the聽聽

shade the opposite direction and cover up the聽
whole window with a room darkening so this has聽聽

a lot of versatility with these vertical cellular聽
shades so great option for all large windows and聽聽

at some other products a lot of times people聽聽

right now the trend is with roller shades and聽
people like to use the roller shades throughout聽聽

the house when it comes to sliding glass door聽
the problem with doing a roller shade is that聽聽

you actually have to roll it up over your head聽
to go in and out of the sliding glass door聽聽

another simple solution for that is to take that聽
same material so you can keep that uniform look聽聽

and putting in a sliding panel so here we have聽
a roller shade material put on a sliding panel聽聽

and as you can see we can bring this back聽
and forth across the sliding glass door聽聽

so you can get this in whatever fabric that聽
you would like so you can have it match the聽聽

other fabric in the room you can get sheer fabrics聽
light filtering fabrics and room darkening fabrics聽聽

also there's a great variety of widths of panels聽
that you can do so the wider panel that you do聽聽

the less panels that you have but you also have聽
the issue of bigger stacking so if you had wider聽聽

panels you would take up more space so there's a聽
combination of how wide do i want my panels versus聽聽

how many panels that i need but having the ability聽
to cover those and again instead of having to go聽聽

up over your head every time you can just quickly聽
slide these to the side they can be operated with聽聽

a wand they can be operated with a cord they can聽
operate with a motor so it's another great option聽聽

for sliding glass doors now another nice thing聽
about these panel track systems is that not only聽聽

can you use them for the sliding glass doors they聽
have some other functions you use as either room聽聽

dividers or closets you can cover closets with聽
them so they have some really neat features that聽聽

you can do with that but again having that ability聽
to cover massive windows you can go one side to聽聽

the left one side to the right you can also do聽
a cinder opening panel track system so again聽聽

panel track systems are great options for those聽
sliding patio doors one of the most traditional聽聽

products for sliding glass doors is draperies聽
so i'd like to show you here is just a drapery聽聽

option now with draperies the biggest challenge聽
on draperies is the stacking correct so you always聽聽

when you slide something this tie you have a lot聽
of stacking potential stacking of the draperies聽聽

but they're very nice because draperies聽
nowadays have such a wide range of materials聽聽

that you can use so what we have here on聽
this particular one is we have a sheer woven聽聽

material that we can do so on the draperies聽
again you can have them move to a left move聽聽

to the right you can also have them center opening聽
traversing draperies is really what you want when聽聽

you're doing a sliding glass door you want to have聽
that ability to operate them smoothly and easily聽聽

without having to tug on them if you want to get聽
in and out so with draperies you have a couple of聽聽

options on how you can operate them you can have聽
a baton wand you can have a cord pulley system or聽聽

you can have a motorized system so here we have聽
a motorized system so what i'd like to show you聽聽

here is as this pulls across here you can have聽
this come all the way across now motorization is聽聽

by far one of the trendy products that are out on聽
the market there and what that allows you to do is聽聽

to be able to simply no matter how size window you聽
have you can just press a button and it will cover聽聽

the whole spans of that glass the other nice thing聽
about this is that you can see you have that nice聽聽

contoured look and again you can get this from聽
multiple fabrics now here we have a sheer fabric聽聽

but you can always get a privacy fabric a room聽
darkening fabric a liner fabric and that helps聽聽

build that insulation so where you have a lot of聽
energy loss in the glass of a sliding glass door聽聽

putting a drapery on that will help thermal聽
insulate that window so again the draperies聽聽

nice option a lot of fabric materials covers big聽
big windows fairly simple to operate especially if聽聽

you're using the traversing rod and it gives you聽
that very distinguished look let's take a look at聽聽

another option similar to this almost everybody聽
is familiar with the idea of vertical blinds聽聽

and those work really well for sliding glass doors聽
they're very functional in that you can adjust聽聽

the slats to control the amount of light you can聽
slide them to a side to get in and out of the door聽聽

but a lot of people don't really like the look聽
of that it's a little generic a little more聽聽

that apartment style look so there's a really聽
nice product out that takes the best function聽聽

of a vertical blind but converts it to beauty聽
and that's called a sheer vertical and here's聽聽

an example of one so what we have here this looks聽
like a drapery but it's actually a sheer vertical聽聽

blind in that i can press these and i can control聽
the slats just like i can on a vertical blind聽聽

except it doesn't look like a vertical blind so i聽
can go from a closed position i can adjust that i聽聽

can have the open position can close the direction聽
and what's really nice about this is that it also聽聽

traverses meaning that i can actually go ahead聽
and open this up just like i would a vertical聽聽

blind and a drapery so as i pull this across here聽
you can see that as we can get that in and out聽聽

and have that same vertical function but聽
in a much more aesthetic view so this is a聽聽

called a shear vertical and again covers very聽
large windows you have a lot of versatility a聽聽

lot of beauty and elegance in the material that聽
you choose comes in a wide range of materials聽聽

you get the all the materials are sheer but you聽
have the ability to get the room darkening or the聽聽

light filtering by controlling those vein options聽
so again nice option it does come with either a聽聽

cord control a wand control or motorized so this聽
is again this is called a sheer vertical drapery聽聽

and another great option for your sliding glass聽
doors so one option that very few people think聽聽

about for our sliding glass doors is an exterior聽
shade so there's a lot of times when you either聽聽

don't have the room or don't want the look of聽
an interior window covering for your patio doors聽聽

an option for that is an exterior shade so in this聽
case here you have an exterior shading mounted on聽聽

the outside of your house above your sliding聽
glass door that you can control remotely from聽聽

inside the house and what this does is it allows聽
you to either cast a shadow inside the room give聽聽

you privacy darken the room or allow you to be聽
able to see through with in this case here a sheer聽聽

shade that allows you to see through it but聽
block out all that heat and sunlight so that's聽聽

an excellent option to have for a sliding glass聽
door is an exterior patio shade it can also be聽聽

used in conjunction with your interior shades聽
as well if you need the extra heat protection聽聽

so again exterior shades is always an option聽
for a sliding or patio door so as you can see聽聽
