[4]
and welcome back to money talks here i'm going聽 to cover a brand new grant by the spa called the聽聽
[11]
shutter venue operators grant also known as the聽 svo this is an emergency assistance for eligible聽聽
[19]
venues affected by covenanting pandemic in聽 this video i'm going to cover the contents聽聽
[26]
of the program which is the program details who聽 can apply amount of the svo grant how to apply聽聽
[34]
allowable use of funds and more information first聽 of all i want to say if you're watching this video聽聽
[40]
and you have not yet subscribed to the channel go聽 ahead and subscribe click the bell notification聽聽
[45]
give it a thumbs like a thumbs up and here we go聽 with the content program details who can apply聽聽
[53]
program details the shutter venue operator svl聽 grant program was established by the economic aid聽聽
[60]
to hard hit small businesses non-profits聽 and venues act signing to law on december 27聽聽
[67]
2020 the program includes 15 billion in grants to聽 shattered businesses or venues to be administered聽聽
[75]
by the sba office of disaster assistance eligible聽 applicants may qualify for the svo grants equal聽聽
[82]
to 45 percent of the gross entire earned revenue聽 with the maximum amount available for a single聽聽
[90]
grant of 10 million so a single grind could be聽 worth 10 million dollars 2 billion is reserved聽聽
[97]
for eligible applications with up to 50 full聽 employees full-time employees who can apply聽聽
[105]
well eligible entities include live venue聽 operators or promoters theatrical producers live聽聽
[113]
performing arts organizations operators relevant聽 museums zoos and aquariums motion pictures聽聽
[123]
theater operators talent representatives and聽 each business entity owned by an eligible entity聽聽
[133]
that also meets eligible requirements so similar聽 entities can apply for the svo grant as well聽聽
[144]
so other requirements of note must be in operation聽 must have been in operation as of february 29聽聽
[155]
2020 so the business the uh the venue must have聽 been operated before february 29th 2020 in order聽聽
[165]
to qualify for the svo grant venue or promoter聽 must have must have not have received a ppp聽聽
[174]
loan on or after december 27 2020 if the um the聽 business receive a ppp loan on or after that date聽聽
[186]
most probably it will not qualify so amount of the聽 sbl grant it says a grant amount will be either聽聽
[197]
for an eligible entity in operation聽 on january 1st 2019 grants聽聽
[204]
will be on amount equal to 45 45 of their聽 2019 gross earned revenue or 10 million聽聽
[215]
whichever is less for an eligible entity that聽 began operation after january 1st 2019 grants will聽聽
[225]
have the grants will be for the average monthly聽 gross revenue for each full month you were in聽聽
[235]
operation during 2019 multiplied by six or聽 10 million dollars with whichever is less聽聽
[243]
so on the the way they calculate it is they聽 go quarterly and if either it applies for 45聽聽
[254]
of your entire gross revenue or 10 million and聽 they will go ahead and apply that grant to your聽聽
[260]
business sba is in the process of setting up the聽 grant so this grant is not actually up and running聽聽
[269]
but it's in the process of accepting applications聽 so the good thing about being aware of grants聽聽
[276]
that are not currently available聽 is they can you you can be prepared聽聽
[283]
get your documentation in order as soon聽 as it opens go ahead and apply remember聽聽
[289]
it may seem like a lot of money but there's聽 a lot of businesses that are going to apply聽聽
[294]
and funds are limited so it says on january 2021聽 the sba updated the process plan for issuing聽聽
[305]
shutter venue operator grants during the first聽 and second priority periods so they're gonna聽聽
[313]
phase it out apparently the way you can apply聽 for the grant so it says the first priority聽聽
[320]
first first 14 days of grant awards entities聽 that suffered a 90 or greater revenue loss聽聽
[331]
between april 2020 throughout december 2020聽 due to cover 19 pandemic so if the business聽聽
[341]
it's under that category that it has a 90 percent聽 impact on under revenue loss between those states聽聽
[351]
then those would be the businesses that would聽 be prioritized and given the uh the grant the聽聽
[361]
second priority the following 14 days entities聽 suffered a 70 percent or greater revenue loss聽聽
[368]
between april 2020 throughout december 2020聽 to go away 19. third priority entities that聽聽
[373]
suffer 25 or greater revenue loss between april聽 20 throughout december 20 due to covet 19 pandemic聽聽
[385]
and then it says supplemental funding receipts聽 of first and second priority round who suffer聽聽
[392]
a 70 percent or greater revenue loss for the most聽 recent calendar quarter as of 0401 2021 or later聽聽
[407]
allowable use of funds this is very important聽 if you don't keep records or if you don't use聽聽
[414]
the funds the funds as established by this program聽 and the sba you would be liable for those funds so聽聽
[425]
the expenses which are allowable for the sbl聽 grant is payroll cost rent payment utility聽聽
[433]
payment schedule mortgage payments schedule聽 debt payments worker protection expenditures聽聽
[443]
payments to independent contractors not to exceed聽 100 000 in annual compensation per contractor so聽聽
[452]
you cannot exceed 100 000 per contractor annually聽 other ordinary and necessary business expenses聽聽
[461]
include maintenance costs administrative聽 costs including fees and licensing聽聽
[468]
state and local tax and fees operating leases in聽 effect of february 15 of 2020 insurance payments聽聽
[480]
advertisement production transportation聽 and capital expenditures were related聽聽
[487]
to producing a theatrical or live performing arts聽 production may not be the primary use of funds so聽聽
[497]
if you're going to cover any of those expenses the聽 grant must not be the primary use um the primary聽聽
[506]
funds is used to cover those expenses so grantees聽 may not use funds too this is very important buy聽聽
[517]
real estate make payments and loans originated聽 after february 15 2020 make investments or loans聽聽
[528]
make contribution to other payments to on or聽 behalf of political parties political committees聽聽
[538]
or candidates for election any other聽 use of prohibited by the administrator聽聽
[546]
so you gotta make sure you follow the guidelines聽 very closely because the sba could send you聽聽
[551]
a letter or an email stating that they need聽 proof that you use those funds for the approve聽聽
[560]
the approved expenses and it says right here聽 grantee record keeping grantee will require聽聽
[565]
to maintain documentation demonstrating their聽 compliance with their with the eligibility and聽聽
[571]
other requirements the svo grant program they must聽 retain employment records for four years following聽聽
[581]
their receipt of grant and maintain the records聽 for three years so make sure if you take a grant聽聽
[590]
that you keep documentation in a separate聽 place a separate file specifically聽聽
[597]
for the svo grant because the sba may randomly聽 select the business to be audited under records聽聽
[609]
and this could be your business and聽 you don't want to end up paying the sba聽聽
[614]
for not producing the receipts they're requiring聽 or for misuse of funds for more information you聽聽
[623]
could contact the sba gives you the website right聽 there i just want to say i hope this video it's of聽聽
