Passive income: Millionaire Starts Again from Scratch In 2022! - YouTube

Channel: Mark Tilbury

[0]
i've lost everything my net worth is now
[2]
zero and i'm starting again from scratch
[5]
people often say to me you're only a
[7]
millionaire because you're a boomer and
[8]
things were easier back in your day if
[11]
you were to try and do it in the current
[12]
more competitive landscape you wouldn't
[14]
stand a chance so it's time to prove
[16]
them all wrong and also show you that
[18]
it's possible to become a millionaire
[20]
from scratch in this day and age so i
[22]
admit becoming a millionaire is no easy
[24]
task however i believe without a shadow
[27]
of a doubt that with the right plan it's
[29]
absolutely possible but what is the
[31]
right plan well that depends on a
[33]
variety of factors so i'm going to break
[35]
down exactly what i would do right now
[37]
to become a millionaire in my 20s for
[40]
the purpose of this video i'm going to
[41]
leave a counter down in the corner to
[43]
count up how much my net worth is as we
[46]
go through the video everything that i'm
[48]
going to be talking about will be
[49]
actionable meaning you can take any of
[51]
these ideas and do it yourself i
[53]
understand everyone is different so
[55]
there will be a few different options
[57]
for you to consider however i'll be
[59]
settling on a plan that will work best
[60]
for me and my strengths and you're
[62]
welcome to copy it if you like phase one
[64]
employment this is between 18 and 20
[67]
years old when you're between these ages
[69]
you're extremely rich in one way you've
[71]
got all the time in the world if i could
[74]
trade all of my millions for more time
[76]
then i would do it in a heartbeat and i
[78]
imagine this is true for a lot of other
[80]
rich people if this doesn't prove to you
[82]
that your time is valuable then i don't
[84]
know what will so my main aim at this
[86]
phase in my life is to extract as much
[88]
of that value as i possibly can this is
[91]
probably a good time to mention if you
[93]
can start before the age of 18 then do
[96]
it i'm just picking this age because
[97]
it's where most people would leave
[99]
school i was a bit of a naughty boy and
[101]
i left at 16 but don't tell anyone i
[104]
truly believe these early years in your
[106]
life are for grafting and what i call
[108]
hard work this can mean a few different
[110]
things depending on your specific skills
[113]
personally i wouldn't choose to go to
[115]
university or college as i believe my
[117]
skill set is more effective elsewhere my
[119]
10-year aim is to complete the cash flow
[121]
quadrant the cash flow wrench or this is
[124]
when you go from employed to
[126]
self-employed then business owner and
[128]
finally investor when it comes to
[130]
getting a job at 18 i'm happy with
[132]
anything as long as it's putting money
[134]
into my pocket each month i'm not too
[136]
bothered one of the biggest problems i
[137]
see with kids leaving school nowadays is
[140]
they think they're too good for certain
[142]
jobs i think it's got a lot to do with
[144]
that everyone's a winner mentality when
[146]
even the losers get trophies yeah you
[149]
always used to tell me when i came
[150]
second i was the first loser well it
[152]
pushed you to do your best didn't it
[153]
that's for sure providing you live in a
[155]
first world country getting a job at 18
[158]
shouldn't be too difficult even if you
[160]
have no qualifications many companies
[162]
like amazon for example are actually
[164]
experiencing staff shortages which means
[167]
they have far more demand than they can
[169]
manage this puts me at a huge advantage
[171]
for getting a position and starting to
[173]
earn however i've got a better idea
[175]
sorry mr bezos you can't have me in my
[178]
opinion having control of my time is
[180]
crucial so i'm going to be the master of
[183]
my own schedule and deliver food for
[185]
ubereats or doordash i'm going to assume
[188]
i have some kind of bike or electric
[190]
scooter from my school days
[192]
super speedy scooter super speedy
[195]
scooter
[197]
the average uber eats wage in london is
[199]
33 000 per annum and what's so amazing
[203]
about this is you can work as little or
[205]
as often as you please this means that i
[207]
can grind and make lots of cash but i
[210]
can also choose to work less once i've
[211]
got my side hustle going while earning
[214]
this income it's extremely important
[215]
that i save as much of my money as
[217]
possible as well as opening up a credit
[219]
card account and putting some essential
[221]
expenses on there to boost my credit
[224]
score from an early age this will really
[226]
help me when i want to buy a house or
[228]
get a loan in the future as this is my
[230]
first job and i'm really grinding for a
[232]
better future it's important i've got
[233]
some brilliant savings strategies so i
[236]
can use this income to start a side
[238]
hustle in the very near future i'm going
[240]
to be creating a budget as well as
[242]
tracking my expenses this might seem
[244]
like overkill but if you don't keep
[246]
track of where your money is going then
[247]
it can easily slip through the cracks
[249]
provided i make 33 000 a year from 18 to
[253]
20 that's 52
[255]
800 including tax i'm only accounting
[258]
for 20 corporation tax because depending
[261]
on where you live tax can be a nightmare
[264]
to sort out i'm going to be generous and
[266]
live off 40 of my income during this
[268]
two-year period which is actually a lot
[271]
more than i need if i was living at home
[272]
with minimal rent this is why living at
[275]
home for as long as possible can be so
[277]
beneficial it leaves me with 31 688
[281]
saved phase two self-employment this is
[284]
between 20 and 23 years old there is no
[287]
shame in working for someone else but i
[290]
personally want to become self-employed
[292]
as soon as possible so with that said i
[294]
need a side hustle you could definitely
[296]
argue that the uber each job was a side
[299]
hustle as i was technically
[300]
self-employed but i want a proper side
[303]
hustle not a second job i'm talking
[305]
about finding something that has the
[307]
ability to transform into a highly
[309]
scalable business i would argue there
[312]
are far more possible side hustles
[314]
nowadays than when i was younger because
[316]
of the internet before my assistant
[317]
started working for me he was selling
[320]
gaming accessories on ebay and he turned
[322]
over 350 000 in his first year of
[325]
trading another great idea is to go
[327]
around business parks in your area and
[330]
offer to sell off the old stock that
[331]
they can't seem to shift in exchange for
[334]
a commission of course there are just so
[336]
many boomers running big businesses that
[338]
don't know how to list their unwanted
[340]
goods on ebay you could soon become the
[342]
go-to guy that everyone knows for
[344]
selling old stock and make a hefty
[346]
income each week just don't come
[348]
knocking on my dog because i may be a
[350]
boomer but i know how to work the
[351]
internet but i'm thinking even further
[354]
into the future social media is on the
[356]
rise and i don't see it slowing down
[358]
anytime soon along with that more and
[361]
more people are realizing the true
[362]
potential of having a personal brand but
[365]
not everyone knows how to market
[367]
themselves correctly some people are
[369]
extremely creative and great at building
[371]
audiences however they might not have
[373]
many business skills because of this i
[375]
think there's a gap in the market for
[377]
entrepreneurs to sweep in and become the
[379]
bridge between influencers and big
[381]
brands in other words i'm going to start
[384]
a social media agency and offer my
[386]
services to influencers i'll start off
[388]
by focusing on a particular niche of
[390]
creators and then branch out once i land
[393]
a few big names and prove my worth then
[395]
i can leverage their credibility and
[398]
maybe even get featured in some articles
[400]
imagine the headline marks marketing
[403]
magic makes influencers millions
[406]
thank you very much that's my first
[408]
contract i'm quite aware that in order
[410]
to land these big creators i may have to
[412]
work for free initially and get my foot
[415]
in the door that's why i wouldn't
[417]
completely quit my uber each job i just
[419]
slowly ease back when i'm all up and
[422]
running brands will pay me a commission
[424]
for landing and influencers and vice
[426]
versa there's a ton of money to be made
[428]
here i just know it
[430]
i'm also going to open up an isa or roth
[432]
ira which is a tax advantage account
[435]
allowing me to invest in a stock market
[437]
and pay completely no tax on my gains
[440]
it's a great idea to get this started at
[442]
a young age to take full advantage of
[444]
compound interest
[446]
even if i'm only investing a tiny amount
[448]
each week it really does pay off in the
[450]
future at this stage it's still very
[452]
important to keep my costs low by living
[454]
at home i think 25 000 is more than
[457]
enough for me to live on each year for
[459]
clarity here's a breakdown of the
[461]
figures i think i could make a hundred
[463]
thousand dollars per year with this side
[465]
hustle and my ubereats job things are
[468]
really starting to pay off so after
[470]
doing this for three years minus my
[472]
living expenses of seventy five thousand
[474]
dollars i'll be left with two hundred
[476]
and twenty five thousand 000
[478]
excluding tax phase 3 becoming a
[480]
business owner this is between 23 and 25
[484]
years old you may think that being
[486]
self-employed and being a business owner
[488]
is the same thing however that couldn't
[490]
be further from the truth i see a lot of
[493]
young entrepreneurs getting stuck in the
[495]
self-employment phase as they are too
[497]
scared to hire employees in my opinion
[500]
if you don't have any employees then
[502]
you've just created another job for
[504]
yourself with no time off strict
[506]
deadlines and no sick pay becoming a
[508]
business owner requires a total shift in
[511]
the way you're thinking it's all about
[513]
viewing the business as a machine and
[515]
you're just putting cogs in place so
[518]
once my side hustle is profitable and
[520]
paying me a decent amount of money that
[521]
i can live on and reinvest then i would
[524]
quit my job and really double down on
[527]
building the business with a focus on
[529]
creating multiple income streams i
[531]
believe in order to get this business up
[534]
and firing to the max i'd need to invest
[536]
some money in paid advertising so i'm
[539]
gonna loan the business a hundred
[541]
thousand dollars and deduct it from my
[543]
net worth i would need to find a way to
[545]
create passive income is this is what
[546]
many businesses are built on
[549]
this reoccurring revenue is essential
[551]
for expansion and hiring new employees
[554]
it's all about thinking how can i do
[556]
something once and then continue to get
[558]
paid for it there are solutions for
[560]
every business such as subscription fees
[563]
and real estate personally i'd spot a
[565]
few up and coming influencers and in
[567]
return for helping them with their
[568]
channels i'd request some equity for
[571]
larger channels i may even offer to
[573]
invest in them for a share of their
[575]
business
[576]
meaning every month i would receive
[578]
royalties from lots of different youtube
[580]
channels without ever having to film a
[582]
video myself which is a shame because i
[584]
really love working with my son making
[586]
these videos that's a bit
[588]
cringe but it's true additionally i'd
[591]
focus on closing 12 month long brand
[593]
deals for my clients and take a 15 cut
[596]
of the revenue which is actually less
[598]
than the industry standard
[600]
i personally feel like a lot of agencies
[602]
take advantage of influencers as it's a
[605]
very new industry and people don't know
[607]
their worth therefore i feel that being
[609]
fair will make my business stand out
[612]
when you're breaking into any market you
[614]
really need a good usp a unique selling
[617]
point while i'm doing all of this i'm
[619]
also going to be building my personal
[621]
brand on social media i didn't know the
[624]
power of this until a few years ago when
[626]
my son curtis helped me build this
[627]
youtube channel once people know who you
[630]
are a lot of opportunities open
[632]
themselves up to you just to explain the
[634]
numbers i'm confident in my first year i
[637]
would take a hundred and fifty thousand
[639]
dollars second year three hundred and
[641]
fifty thousand and third year over seven
[644]
hundred thousand dollars obviously this
[646]
isn't all profit so i need to deduct
[648]
about 300 000 for staff a hundred
[650]
thousand for marketing and around 180
[653]
000 for tax phase 4 investor age 25 to
[657]
infinity and beyond many business owners
[660]
think they don't have to worry about
[661]
investing in other areas because they
[663]
have their business income i'm going to
[666]
invest 50 percent back into the business
[668]
and then 50 into other assets i think
[671]
the key to great business investments is
[673]
looking for other businesses to bolt
[675]
onto my existing empire so i'll be
[677]
interested in buying businesses that can
[679]
benefit from my agency and vice versa i
[682]
can then use the infrastructure that i
[684]
have spent years building to increase
[686]
profitability a really good example of a
[688]
business that does this well is facebook
[691]
they've acquired many different
[692]
companies over the years such as
[694]
instagram and have shared their user
[696]
base to build both platforms at a much
[698]
faster rate it's harder to think of a
[701]
business that aligns with my social
[702]
media agency however i think i've got it
[705]
many influencers are now building out
[707]
brands that should live on way past
[709]
their social media success i'm talking
[711]
about beast burgers and prime by logan
[714]
paul and ksi i'd be very interested in
[716]
acquiring brands like this and
[718]
leveraging my relationships to get great
[720]
influence on marketing with a kickback
[723]
commission for my agency this would
[725]
boost the profitability of both
[727]
businesses i'll be doing this all at the
[729]
same time as investing in the stock
[730]
market crypto and real estate of course
[733]
i'd be first making sure to fill up my
[735]
tax advantaged accounts by the way one
[738]
thing i would definitely do as soon as
[739]
possible is pick up my free stock from
[741]
public.com worth all the way up to a
[744]
thousand dollars if i was in the usa
[746]
i'll leave that link below also i make
[748]
sure to pick up my ten dollars worth of
[750]
free bitcoin from coinbase i'll split my
[752]
portfolio between 40 real estate 35
[756]
index funds 15 individual stocks and 10
[760]
into blue chip crypto coins like bitcoin
[763]
and ethereum once i have all these
[765]
income streams up and running it's
[767]
extremely hard to give accurate figures
[769]
however i am confident i would become a
[771]
millionaire by 26. obviously a lot of
[774]
this has had to be simplified however if
[776]
you commit then this is certainly a path
[778]
you can take so i'm going to leave the
[780]
next video right up there but don't
[781]
click on it just yet make sure to
[783]
subscribe if you want to grow your
[785]
wealth okay
[786]
i'll see you over there
