Why I Started Using This Day Trading Indicator (the best!) - YouTube

Channel: ClayTrader

[0]
why am I using this indicator in my day
[2]
trading of stocks well I'm not going to
[4]
build drama I'm not going to try to
[6]
build up any suspense because it's
[8]
behind me right now but the indicator
[10]
that I have started to use and I'm
[13]
absolutely loving is the volume weighted
[15]
average price or more famously known as
[18]
the v-wap
[20]
so why am I using the V web I'll get to
[23]
that in a little bit but first the
[24]
confession on my part and this actually
[26]
has a whole lot to do with trading in
[28]
general because if you're newer or maybe
[31]
you're not then if you're not new you
[32]
already know trading is very
[33]
psychological very emotional but I got
[35]
to just come clean and make a confession
[37]
I got way too stubborn in my ways I got
[41]
way too my ego got too big and I've
[45]
heard about the v-wap over and over
[48]
again in fact maybe you're saying okay I
[50]
already know what this is so I'm just
[52]
watching this video because I want to
[53]
know why you're going to use it which
[54]
I'll get to but the point is yeah I've
[57]
heard about it no I'm not using that no
[60]
not nope nope nope and I just got so so
[64]
stubborn when I should have just started
[67]
using this indicator a long time ago
[70]
so you know what work on that clay don't
[72]
be so stubborn and as you as a Trader
[75]
like I said the little miniature lesson
[76]
here you know don't be stubborn don't
[78]
maybe are you being somewhere stubborn
[79]
somewhere else in your trading I don't I
[81]
don't who knows maybe somewhere else in
[82]
your life but don't be stubborn because
[84]
like I said I've been using it I've been
[87]
absolutely loving it it is a great great
[89]
indicator to use now maybe you have no
[91]
idea what the v-wap is so I want to go
[93]
through a quick little lesson but this
[95]
is also going to explain why it actually
[98]
works and why I am using it so what is
[102]
the volume weighted average price well
[104]
let's just first look at what an average
[105]
is so what we have here
[109]
is a situation where we have the volume
[114]
right so how many shares are traded
[116]
traded what we'll trade it at a certain
[118]
price right
[121]
So In traditional
[123]
you know averages if you have something
[125]
that
[126]
occurs
[128]
at ten dollars
[130]
so and then you have something that
[133]
occurs
[134]
at twenty dollars you would say okay
[136]
there's been two purchases somebody
[138]
bought it ten somebody bought it twenty
[141]
and the normal average would be well the
[144]
average means that is fifteen dollars
[146]
right because that's just right in the
[147]
middle that would be the normal average
[149]
nothing complicated there right think
[151]
back you gotta add up 10 plus 20 then
[153]
divide by two and you got 15. so that is
[156]
the average but what happens if I add it
[158]
in this detail here
[159]
what happens if I said that well
[162]
actually at 10
[167]
there were 100 shares so the volume
[170]
at ten dollars when somebody bought 100
[172]
shares and then what if I told you all
[174]
at twenty dollars though
[177]
somebody bought bought ten thousand
[179]
shares
[180]
is the average price really fifteen
[183]
dollars now on the surface yeah yeah it
[185]
is fifteen dollars but when you add in
[188]
volume and the kind of the quote unquote
[191]
impact that it has well the impact is a
[193]
lot more up here at ten thousand at
[196]
twenty dollars so in other words the V
[198]
web is going to be telling you yeah no I
[200]
don't really care about that 15 number I
[202]
care about something much much closer to
[204]
twenty dollars because that's where the
[206]
vast majority of the volume actually
[208]
took place
[209]
which is quite brilliant actually that
[211]
that's that's fantastic that makes a
[213]
whole lot of sense so why does this
[215]
actually work though and where is all
[216]
this coming from what is it that people
[218]
believe and I'm not saying this is not
[220]
how it doesn't work I'm just saying that
[222]
I'm sure there's more to it than just
[224]
this but like I said from a broad
[226]
standpoint
[227]
there's no doubt in my mind that this
[229]
plays a role in you know the big money
[232]
commissions Wall Street institutional
[234]
trading all that they're using this to
[237]
help figure out and Define one word
[240]
and that one word that is trying to be
[243]
defined is good
[247]
now what do I mean by good well if you
[249]
are a institution if you are some big
[251]
firm and you have a client that says I
[254]
want 500 000 shares of
[257]
Facebook
[258]
of Apple of Netflix of insert any
[261]
company you want
[263]
well that's what institutional Traders
[264]
are going to do they're going to go and
[266]
buy those 500 shares for their client
[269]
but their client wants what what would
[271]
you want it when you buy when you buy
[273]
anything you want a good price duh but
[277]
that brings up the question well how
[278]
though is good being defined
[282]
so yeah you want
[285]
a good price but how do they Define that
[288]
what's the v-wap and the way that works
[291]
is
[292]
going back here we have actually I'm
[296]
going to use yellow because if you start
[297]
watching my live trade videos you're
[299]
going to see a little dotted yellow line
[300]
that is the v-wap so you're gonna have
[302]
this
[307]
and that is just representing the V web
[309]
so what is defined as good or bad well
[312]
let's stop and think about this what
[314]
would be good if if they came to that
[316]
person and said hey guess what
[318]
the majority of the shares we bought
[322]
we're down here
[325]
well that that is
[328]
that's fantastic why well because the
[331]
volume weighted average price the
[333]
average price when you factor in volume
[334]
was way up here so but but Mr client we
[338]
were able to get you we were able to get
[340]
you less than what the average person
[342]
was buying that's gonna have a happy
[344]
client right when you can go and say I
[346]
got you less and that's also going to
[347]
get the trader extra bonuses and they're
[349]
going to get your rewards and stuff like
[351]
that because they were able to keep the
[353]
client happy when you keep the client
[354]
happy they give you more business and
[356]
that's just business 101. now the other
[360]
part is what happens if
[367]
people are buying up there
[369]
how's the client going to be feeling in
[370]
this situation
[373]
I mean if you go to the client say yeah
[375]
you know we got you the 500 000 shares
[379]
but it was actually we paid more than
[380]
what the average price out there was
[383]
wait you paid more you paid more than
[386]
what the average that's not going to
[387]
make the person happy that's not good
[391]
but you don't know what good is unless
[393]
you have some sort of standardized thing
[394]
and the standardized thing again goes to
[397]
the v-wap
[398]
so how does this pertain to trading well
[401]
what is going to happen
[403]
in theory this there's no such thing as
[405]
a Holy Grail so like I said this is just
[407]
in fairy this is what people believe and
[409]
I'll get to that in a second but what
[412]
happens as the price moves away from
[414]
this area well oh wow it's below the V
[417]
web I can I can impress I can put a
[419]
smile on my customer's face so there is
[422]
going to be binding
[426]
why is there going to be buying again
[427]
it's going to make this the customer
[429]
happy now I'm not trying to tell you
[431]
intelligence but what does buying do
[432]
well buying causes prices to rise right
[436]
So eventually what is going to occur the
[439]
price is going to rise back up to the
[440]
v-wap now the problem here is that if
[444]
the price goes up above the V web no
[447]
what's what's happening well the further
[449]
and further it goes above V web
[452]
there's going to be less and less what
[453]
there's going to be less and less buying
[455]
right because wait a second I don't want
[458]
to be buying up there for my client I
[459]
want a smiley face I don't want them
[461]
frowning and mad and sad so I I'm not I
[464]
mean they'll buy some right because I
[466]
mean if it's 500 000 shares their their
[468]
end game is to try to keep it below here
[470]
but the further and further it gets
[471]
above that area
[473]
there there's not going to be as much
[475]
buying pressure so when if there's not
[477]
enough buying what happens well
[480]
selling pressure is eventually just
[483]
gonna take it back down and the price is
[485]
going to return to the v-wap
[488]
so that is why
[490]
prices below tend to rise back up prices
[494]
above tend to rise back down because
[496]
it's all a function of if you think
[498]
about that institutional Trader who only
[500]
cares about his Christmas bonus or his
[502]
bonus in general or how good of a price
[504]
he's getting
[505]
and think about that how good of a price
[507]
he's getting how good of a price being
[509]
defined as relative to the V web well
[511]
then of course he's going to stop buying
[512]
the further it gets up there and selling
[514]
will eventually bring it back down but
[515]
the further it goes below yeah he's
[517]
going to start buying which brings the
[518]
price back up and then to bring up some
[522]
you know terminology this is why the V
[524]
web when the price is below it tends to
[526]
act as resistance and this is why when
[529]
the price is above the V web it tends to
[531]
act as support keyword being tens this
[534]
is not guaranteed it's just a general
[536]
philosophy so why am I actually using
[540]
this
[541]
well one word
[545]
belief
[547]
but more importantly because like I said
[549]
I I'm sure some of you if you're selling
[551]
like clay the V what happened what do
[554]
you mean you're just now starting to use
[555]
it I mean it's like everybody uses the V
[559]
web everybody everybody uses it for
[561]
these reasons you just explained you
[562]
why are you now just using it
[565]
because I told you like my ego got in
[567]
the way I got stubborn that's why but
[569]
why does it why why everybody loving it
[572]
why should you be using the view app I
[574]
don't know if any of this stuff is true
[576]
but you know what enough people out
[577]
there believe it to be true and when you
[580]
have enough belief we have this
[582]
wonderful thing in the world of trading
[585]
known as uh
[587]
self
[591]
-fulfilling
[594]
prophecy
[596]
whereas when prices arrive or prices
[600]
rise and get near the v-wap because
[601]
something is supposed to be the case
[603]
everybody just does what is supposed to
[605]
be the case which therefore creates
[607]
what's supposed to happen
[609]
so if there's stuff out there where
[610]
people are just believing and be just
[613]
because of that belief alone like I said
[614]
who even knows that this stuff is true
[616]
but when enough people believe it to be
[618]
true then it's going to work by
[620]
definition a self-fulfilling prophecy so
[623]
that's why I started to use it is
[624]
because I put my stubbornness aside yes
[627]
but why wouldn't I use it when so many
[629]
people out there are using it and so
[631]
many people believe in it I'm not saying
[632]
they shouldn't believe it I believe in
[634]
it but I just believe in it because a
[635]
lot of other people believe in it and
[637]
there's a self-filling prophecy I don't
[638]
believe in it because I don't know the
[640]
commission structure to the fine-grained
[642]
details on Wall Street and I don't care
[644]
I just want to know what does what does
[647]
the herd believe what do the Lemmings
[649]
believe what do the vast majority of
[651]
people believe and if most people
[653]
believe that this has some sort of
[655]
magical mystical Powers then my question
[657]
is okay how can I arrange that to
[660]
benefit my Trading which is the same way
[663]
you should be thinking and it all goes
[664]
back to that self-fulfilling prophecy so
[666]
that is why I'm not using the V web why
[668]
I found some I mean it's great it's
[670]
amazing how many times where you'll have
[672]
this
[673]
sort of situation where you have a v-wap
[675]
and then the price you know is above so
[677]
it comes down bounces and then stays
[680]
above it and then when the price breaks
[682]
below it ah everybody freaks out and
[684]
then eventually it works there and then
[685]
it gets rejected and it gets rejected it
[688]
is crazy I mean pull up a chart look at
[690]
the v-wap and see how many times the
[692]
price almost perfectly bounces off that
[695]
level so yes that is what the v-wap is
[697]
that is why I'm starting to use it and
[700]
this is how it all works let me know in
[702]
the comment section though
[703]
how long have you been using the view
[705]
app are you gonna at least give it a try
[707]
um some of you probably like I've been
[708]
using it for like 10 years clay welcome
[709]
to the party fair point but I am curious
[712]
how long have you been using it or a
[715]
limit maybe this is the first time
[715]
you've ever heard of it or if you just
[717]
have any other questions on it in
[718]
general let me know in the comment
[720]
section uh down below and then also hit
[722]
the like button if you enjoyed this I
[723]
will keep on making these sorts of
[724]
videos if I know that people are
[726]
interested in the quickest way for you
[728]
to show me that you are interested is
[730]
just to click that like button and also
[731]
just check out the channel hopefully you
[733]
decide to ultimately subscribe but yeah
[735]
I'm using the v-wap I love me some
[737]
self-fulfilling prophecies first off
[739]
thanks so much for watching the entire
[741]
video real quick before you go I want to
[743]
invite you to a live webinar web class
[745]
training workshop online event whatever
[748]
you want to call it but it will be me
[750]
live revealing to you what I discovered
[752]
that has allowed me to transform myself
[754]
from being an employee to being My Own
[757]
Boss including how I had only one losing
[760]
day out of 73 days in total I'm going to
[763]
cover three keys that have helped me
[765]
unlock profitable consistency within the
[767]
markets the first key is super weird but
[770]
in a productive type of way the second
[772]
key is super awesome because it quite
[774]
literally is wired into our DNA as
[776]
humans making it very easy to use but in
[779]
a cruel way this becomes a pitfall for
[781]
many Traders I'll explain it all though
[783]
including how to avoid the pitfall that
[786]
it creates for some and yeah the third
[787]
key when you hear it sounds way too good
[790]
way too good to be true but it's not and
[792]
I'll show you how it all works then at
[794]
the end I open it up for a question and
[796]
answer session that is again totally
[798]
live even if you can't make the live
[800]
session please still sign up as it will
[802]
be recorded and you can go back and
[804]
watch the replay that I will send you
[806]
click the image on the screen or click
[808]
the link down in the description box so
[810]
you can get the date and time and claim
[812]
your spot which I should note is limited
[815]
due to the fact that this truly is a
[817]
live event if you have any questions let
[819]
me know if not I'll be seeing you soon
