Hi, today we will talk about IRCTC's quarterly results but let us first talk about the company
[10]
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation was incorporated on 27th Sept 1999 as an extended arm of Indian Railways
[21]
It is a mini ratan central public enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, GOI
[29]
The main aim is to upgrade, professionalize, and manage catering and hospitality services on stations, trains and other places
[42]
Other than this, they promote domestic and international tourism by use of several means like
[52]
development of budget hotels, special tour packages, information, commercial publicity, and global reservation system
[60]
Other than this we will take you into the Q4 results and compare its performance with 2020, so let's start
[85]
Now let us start the Q4 discussion divided into 3 parts, firstly comparing this result to Q4FY20
[99]
Followed by comparing Q4FY21 to Q3FY21, and finally comparing FY20 and FY21
[113]
You can see the table where on the left you can see Q4FY21 and Q4FY20
[129]
And can see the revenue, profit before tax, and profit after tax, but here is a problem
[141]
that if you compare these quarters, the company was operating in the normal capacity in FY20
[155]
but in FY21, it was working on a restricted capacity due to covid because of which an automatic downfall is seen in the company's business
[168]
And from this, you won't have an appropriate estimate reason being the covid restrictions
[190]
So if you compare the number of Q4FY21 to Q3FY21, it will be a better indicator
[200]
As compared to the last quarter, the net profit rose by 33% and revenue by 46%
[207]
And if you compare FY20 with FY21, both revenue and PAT have decreased by 63%
[217]
Now we will compare the different segments of IRCTC, first being the comparison of Q4FY20 and Q4FY21
[230]
followed by a comparison of Q3 and Q4 of FY21, and then FY20 with FY21
[241]
At the top left corner, you can see the Q4FY20 and Q4FY21
[252]
In this only internet ticketing is the only segment that performed better than the pre-covid levels with a 10% positive figure
[265]
Others like Catering is -70%, Rail Neer is -45%, and Tourism is -69%
[276]
And the reason being the same of normal capacity in Q4FY20 and restricted in Q4FY21
[290]
Hence a better comparison would be Q3 and Q4 of FY21
[304]
The biggest jump is seen in Tourism QoQ by 104%
[316]
If we see the segment operating profits, only internet ticketing has shown 14% YoY and 59% QoQ rise
[330]
All others have been in losses, Tourism being the worst performer with losses by 42 Cr and revenue at 31.58 Cr
[349]
Now lastly, I would like to tell you the changes on YoY in FY20 and FY21
[360]
All the 4 segments, catering, rail neer, ticketing, and tourism have seen a downfall on YoY basis
[369]
Catering is down by 78%, Rail neer by 74%, ticketing by 28%, and tourism by 82%
[378]
Another thing, that the company declared a Rs.5 per share final dividend in FY21
[388]
We have taken out some insights from the investor results con call of Q4FY21
[400]
First being that IRCTC has urban clusters around which they operate their trains
[407]
and want additional capital for their expansion for which they are searching for external partners for strategic partnerships
[420]
Point number 2 that their bus ticketing has also picked up because of which they are planning to do marketing activities with their partners
[432]
IRCTC currently has 450 contacts of catering in these trains and 100 are in the pipeline
[441]
The booking of sleeper class is 40% and second class is 36%
[450]
The ticketing rise is due to the rise in internet bookings
[456]
The rail neer plants of Bhusawal, HP and Vijayawada will be completed in FY22 and Kota and Bhubaneshwar by FY23
[468]
Other than this, 1500 trains are running with reservation facilities available
[474]
So with this we have come to the end of our coverage, I hope you liked it
