the price of gas aka petrol aka car
[4]
cocaine
[6]
there are a few commodities out there
[8]
that affect the cost of living more than
[9]
gas you know it's how we get to work
[11]
it's how we ship products across the
[13]
country and it's how we let our ex know
[15]
that we busted them cheating now
[18]
i don't need to tell you that over the
[19]
past few months the price of gas has
[21]
been climbing faster than your grandpa's
[22]
heart rate on viagra in fact gas is so
[24]
expensive instead of champagne bowlers
[26]
have started ordering canisters of
[28]
premium at the club yeah i was like
[33]
that club was really lit and as the
[35]
national average in america hits five
[36]
dollars a gallon for the first time ever
[38]
people all over the country are doing
[40]
whatever they can to stretch a tank as
[44]
far as they can for a nation that feels
[46]
like it's stuck right now in gas
[48]
gridlock
[50]
many drivers aren't sitting idle with
[51]
soaring costs they're getting creative
[54]
my salary hasn't changed so i carpool
[56]
with my sister to work
[58]
one week she drives in the one week i
[60]
drive i just bought the motorcycle
[61]
because
[62]
now for 20 bucks i use like for three
[65]
days to four days
[66]
it saves me a lot at a time gas prices
[68]
are so high bike sales are exploding
[71]
i've moved to the city i don't need my
[73]
car
[74]
can't afford gas and even google maps is
[77]
your friend with an option to navigate
[79]
based on fewer hills and traffic even
[81]
police departments are under strain this
[84]
michigan sheriff's office is feeling the
[86]
pain at the pump as well according to
[88]
its facebook post and has advised
[90]
deputies to manage non-urgent calls over
[92]
the phone
[93]
well well well
[96]
i guess joe biden did end up defunding
[98]
the police yes
[101]
the secret
[103]
was just defunding everyone at the same
[105]
time so we didn't notice i see you joe
[107]
very slick
[109]
but yeah gas prices are so high even
[111]
police have to do their jobs over the
[113]
phone
[114]
which you gotta admit is gonna be tough
[116]
for some cops you know she's gonna be
[118]
like all right sir are you black okay
[120]
then i'm gonna have to ask you to whoop
[121]
your own ass a little bit yeah just
[123]
frisk yourself for no reason just to be
[125]
safe
[126]
you know who's actually going to be hit
[127]
the hardest about this right it's the
[128]
karens
[130]
yeah because they're the main people
[131]
calling the cops with non-urgent shits
[134]
they're like hello police there's a
[135]
black man at the grocery store buying
[137]
tricks cereal which is illegal because
[140]
tricks are for kids hurry hurry quickly
[150]
all over the country americans are doing
[153]
anything they can to save on gas
[156]
carpooling switching to motorcycles
[159]
i pretended to be sick this morning
[162]
just to get a free ambulance ride to
[163]
work
[167]
it definitely
[169]
aids monkey pups ebola
[173]
i don't think i'm gonna make it
[175]
i don't know how much longer i have oh
[177]
wait that's my office you guys can put
[179]
you can drop me off here yeah i'm gonna
[180]
pull through i'm gonna pull through you
[181]
guys can pull over here i'm good i'm
[182]
good yeah i'm good i'll see you guys
[184]
tomorrow all right bye bye bye
[190]
you know for real though it's actually
[192]
times like this that a lot of people are
[194]
glad they live in new york city because
[195]
you don't need to pay for gas here right
[197]
you can walk you can ride a bike you can
[199]
take the subway and then with all that
[201]
money that you've saved not buying gas
[202]
you can afford a room the size of a
[204]
coffin yeah
[205]
in new york
[207]
concrete jungle where you have 10
[209]
roommates there's no space for any of
[212]
you
[213]
that was a verse they cut out of the
[214]
song
[216]
but it goes to show you how desperate
[217]
times are america will do anything to
[220]
save on gas right now i mean not
[223]
investing in mass transit obviously but
[225]
anything else
[226]
anything else
[228]
and that means we're gonna have to move
[229]
on because unfortunately gas prices
[231]
aren't the only problem affecting
[232]
american people right now and yes i'm
[235]
talking about guns the never ending
[237]
problem that america just can't seem to
[239]
solve which
[241]
now that i think about it
[242]
maybe america shouldn't keep hitting the
[244]
same brick wall maybe america can just
[246]
use some of its problems to solve some
[249]
of its other problems
[250]
you know yeah like maybe the price of
[253]
gas will get so high
[254]
that mass shooters won't be able to
[255]
drive to a gun store to buy weapons in
[257]
the first place
[259]
you don't need red flag laws if gas is
[260]
40 a gallon
[264]
but until that happens lawmakers in
[265]
congress are trying to find any measure
[267]
that can help reduce the amount of guns
[269]
that end up in the hands of mad men and
[271]
yesterday the house took action
[274]
a major legislative package on new gun
[276]
measures is headed to the senate after
[278]
passing in the house yesterday by 223 to
[282]
204 vote lawmakers approved the
[285]
protecting our kids act
[287]
the legislation is a collection of six
[290]
new gun safety measures including
[292]
raising the minimum age to buy
[294]
semi-automatic rifles from 18 to 21 and
[297]
requiring that all firearms be traceable
[300]
five republicans joined democrats and
[302]
also supported the bill it is however
[305]
unlikely to pass in the senate where
[307]
control is evenly split one republican
[309]
congressman who voted against the bill
[311]
congressman steve scalise explained his
[313]
opposition to new gun control laws i go
[316]
back to september 11th airplanes were
[318]
used that day
[319]
as the weapon to kill thousands of
[321]
people and to inflict terror on our
[323]
country
[324]
there wasn't a conversation about
[326]
banning airplanes
[327]
wow
[330]
wow that is a good point
[333]
i can't think of any way flying changed
[335]
after 9 11.
[337]
now if you'll excuse me i have to get to
[339]
the airport 15 hours early so the tsa
[342]
has time to run a background check on my
[344]
shampoo to see if it has any links to
[347]
isis
[351]
this is a terrible comparison nobody's
[354]
trying to ban all guns they're trying to
[356]
add small measures to make people more
[359]
safe which is exactly what happened to
[360]
air travel after 9 11. i mean do you
[362]
even remember what airport security was
[364]
like before 9 11 you could basically
[365]
walk onto a plane and just browse around
[368]
like it was in ikea yeah you could just
[370]
be like no i don't have a ticket i just
[372]
wanted to check out the cockpit this is
[373]
nice this is what does this do boop boop
[375]
boop boop boop this is fun all right
[378]
have a safe trip
[380]
but this is the problem you see this is
[381]
the problem that gun lovers have in
[383]
america there's nothing else that is as
[385]
unregulated as they want guns to be so
[388]
their options and like the analogies
[390]
they use always don't make sense they're
[391]
always like cars kill people too but you
[394]
don't regulate that wait wait actually i
[396]
mean alcohol kills people too but they
[399]
wait actually no way medicine kills
[401]
people too but we don't regulate oh no
[403]
wait we do uh let me think guns kill
[405]
people but we don't regulate those huh
[408]
see what i did though that's i've gone
[409]
back on myself that's what i've done
[412]
but despite
[414]
despite these dumbass objections from
[416]
people like steve scalise the house
[418]
still passed a gun control bill the only
[420]
problem is that everyone already knows
[423]
that it has zero chance of passing in
[425]
the senate
[426]
which has got to be rough for the house
[428]
you know you work so hard on something
[429]
that you know
[430]
is going to lose
[432]
you know they're like the new york
[433]
knicks of legislation
[436]
like what a weird system in america
[437]
where one chamber of congress spends all
[439]
this time passing legislation that they
[441]
know the other chamber is going to shoot
[442]
down it's such a strange system normal
[445]
for america crazy for most of the world
[448]
america is basically doing that thing
[449]
that parents do with their kids you know
[451]
you know those parents that aren't on
[452]
the same page like you ask your dad dad
[454]
can we eat ice cream for dinner and he's
[456]
like yeah sounds good to me but you
[458]
gotta ask your mom and you know mom is
[460]
gonna say no
[462]
so i should have just asked her why are
[464]
you even a part of this process
[466]
well if i get your mom on the record
[467]
saying no then i can run ads against her
[469]
next year and then we can get a new
[470]
cooler mom yeah
[474]
but what's especially interesting to me
[476]
is that as modest as this bill is only
[478]
five republicans voted for it only five
[482]
and get this four of them
[484]
aren't running for re-election
[487]
yeah which is really interesting
[489]
you know time and time again you see
[490]
whenever republicans aren't worried
[492]
about pandering to trump voters all of a
[495]
sudden they make common sense decisions
[498]
and i'll be honest this has shown me
[499]
something that like maybe america needs
[501]
to relook the process maybe people in
[502]
congress shouldn't get to be reelected
[504]
you just do one term and you're done
[506]
that's it yeah because then america's
[507]
politicians would finally care more
[509]
about governing as opposed to getting
[510]
re-elected you know it's kind of like
[511]
the same way people in relationships
[513]
finally tell the truth when they're
[514]
breaking up you know what i mean
[516]
yeah because the whole time you're
[517]
worried about saving the relationship
[518]
but if you're not worried about that
[519]
anymore you become a lot more honest
[521]
yeah all of a sudden you're like well
[522]
it's gonna end anyway so i might as well
[523]
tell you now that you fought like a
[525]
beatboxing machine in your sleep
[527]
sarah
[529]
the whole night
[533]
[Laughter]
[538]
moving on
[541]
this week los angeles is hosting the
[543]
summit of the americas because contrary
[545]
to popular belief america isn't the only
[547]
america in the world
[549]
yeah there are dozens of countries in
[551]
north and south america and every once
[553]
in a while they get together to discuss
[554]
issues that affect the entire region and
[557]
then they about christopher
[558]
columbus but
[560]
for this year's summit the person most
[562]
countries are bitching about is joseph
[564]
robinette biden
[566]
drama before the diplomacy officially
[568]
begins this week in los angeles where
[571]
president biden will be hosting the
[572]
summit of the americas there is a
[575]
significant snub the president of mexico
[578]
has announced that he is refusing to
[580]
attend the summit because the u.s is not
[582]
inviting cuba venezuela and nicaragua
[585]
over their lack of democratic values but
[588]
mexico says the agenda of migration
[591]
economics climate and covet is just too
[594]
important to exclude any of the nations
[596]
from this region the white house
[598]
counters that it believes that no
[600]
dictator should be invited
[602]
wait a second
[604]
joe biden has stopped a mexican from
[607]
coming to america
[610]
you know wherever he is trump must be so
[613]
pissed off right now
[614]
he's like joe biden is stealing my ideas
[618]
i'm the mexican man mom
[623]
but seriously though this is such a
[625]
petty story this is a meeting of the
[627]
leaders of an entire hemisphere but
[630]
instead they sound like middle school
[632]
mean girls you know it's like hey mexico
[635]
i'm having a party and you can come but
[637]
don't tell cuba and venezuela and
[640]
nicaragua because they're not invited
[643]
oh america it's so brave that you think
[646]
you're cool enough to even throw a party
[649]
you oh my god
[652]
[Music]
[655]
i will say this i think we can all agree
[656]
that mexico is making a good point
[658]
america's stance on human rights
[660]
violations seems a little inconsistent
[663]
all right think about it you won't even
[664]
talk to cuba and nicaragua
[668]
but then you're going to fly to saudi
[670]
arabia and beg prince bonesaw to release
[672]
more oil huh i mean it seems like
[674]
america's a lot more tolerant of
[676]
countries that have a little uh
[678]
cha-ching is that what it is
[680]
yeah in many ways the american
[681]
government is like a stripper
[682]
yeah
[684]
yeah it's like if you ain't paying they
[685]
don't care about you
[687]
and i hope you know that saudi arabia
[688]
america's not actually into you they're
[690]
just saving up for college that's all
[692]
this is
[693]
it's not about you america
[696]
a transaction
[700]
here's the thing here's the thing
[702]
whether the u.s likes it or not it is
[704]
connected to these countries right they
[705]
affect the united states and the united
[707]
states affects them don't you think it's
[709]
weird that you're going to be talking
[710]
about migrants from nicaragua but then
[712]
nicaragua is not going to be at that
[714]
summit you don't think it's strange it's
[716]
gonna be like staging an intervention
[718]
without the person there
[720]
you've got to get your life together
[722]
barry is what i would say if barry was
[724]
here i think this would have been good
[725]
guys this would have gotten through to
[727]
him it really would have been great
[728]
where is barry by the way what drunk
[729]
again how well we tried all right that's
[732]
it for the headlines but before we go
[733]
let's check in on the traffic with our
[734]
very own roy wood jr everybody
[746]
what's happening man what's happening in
[747]
the trailer i'm just looking man ain't
[749]
nothing happening ain't nobody out there
[752]
gas costs too damn much everybody at
[754]
home ain't nobody
[755]
on these roads today man it's looking
[757]
pretty looking pretty good out there
[760]
you know i'll be honest man with this
[762]
these gas prices man that kind of it's
[764]
got me kind of rooting for monkey pox
[768]
sorry what
[770]
how was traffic during the last shutdown
[772]
it was good wasn't it
[774]
it was good the last pandemic wasn't no
[776]
traffic so bring back another pandemic
[777]
boom traffic fix problem solved
[780]
i'm telling you man the gas prices are
[782]
getting out of hand like i i kind of
[784]
like the fact though that the police
[786]
can't respond to every call
[788]
that's cool for now but then when
[790]
emergencies start really start piling up
[792]
then it's gonna be bad man eventually
[794]
the police gonna have to start
[795]
carpooling with the fire department and
[796]
the ambulance
[798]
they're gonna have to ride together like
[799]
the only way they're gonna come save you
[801]
is if all three things are happening to
[802]
you at the same time
[805]
like if you get shot you gotta set
[806]
something on fire then they'll show up
[809]
they're gonna have to combine their
[810]
vehicles
[813]
it's gonna get bad
[815]
they're gonna have to come
[816]
check on you in a fire truck ambulance
[819]
cruiser the fire truck yeah the fire
[821]
truck ambulance cruiser that's what all
[823]
three police cruiser ambulance fire
[825]
trucks combines yeah
[827]
what's happening in the traffic roy
[832]
it's just it's just people going
[834]
errands people
[836]
are just going to and fro man it's just
[839]
it's a beautiful thing
[842]
real quick about the
[843]
the the gun law stuff the gun whatever
[846]
they trying to pass yeah the gun safety
[848]
yeah
[849]
that's part of it all right can we
[852]
like that's the only solution to gun
[854]
violence is
[856]
gun regulating guns
[858]
a lot of different things contribute to
[860]
gun violence i like this country i agree
[863]
you start with the guns but then you
[864]
look at communities you look at
[866]
schooling you look at eradicating
[868]
poverty i hear what you're saying right
[869]
i don't talk about that i'm talking
[870]
about lonely white dudes i'm talking
[871]
about
[873]
we got to have legislation like every
[876]
lonely white dude got to have a friend
[878]
we got to legislate
[880]
friends for lonely white men
[883]
and i think that's how we get
[885]
that's how we fix some of it like like
[887]
it'd be like jury duty like you think
[888]
you gotta you think you like get to go
[890]
out this week but then you get a letter
[892]
in the mail like report to gary's
[893]
basement and you gotta
[895]
be gary's friend for a little
[911]
white man isn't that double dangerous no
[913]
that's called a militia that's safer
[915]
than a lonely
[916]
white man a militia is much safer than a
[919]
lonely white man militia got a uniform
[921]
they got a website they got a schedule
[923]
they get permits they let you know when
[925]
they're going to show up who would you
[927]
rather deal with a militia or a lone
[928]
wolf
[930]
militia that's what i'm saying that's
[931]
what we need we need that structure
[933]
because we got to do somebody got to
[935]
talk to these white dudes in person we
[937]
tried talking to them over the internet
[938]
but reddit didn't work it was a big
[939]
failure too
[942]
okay well um
[943]
let's get the traffic roy
[948]
it's just so beautiful when you just
[952]
ah let's get to we got time no we ran
[954]
out of time again for you
[956]
we got time yeah we we just
[959]
just no we we have that we have to have
[960]
it just real quick
[963]
okay what are you gonna
[966]
say just so that guy's gonna have a
[969]
wreck he was going
[970]
thank you so much right with junior
[972]
everybody
[975]
[Music]
[984]
you
