[0]
so you actually don't know any black
[2]
people you're a posh
[4]
oh dude might be a daddy pay for that
[6]
you must love polo is it polled I
[8]
shouldn't do that once I can't say oh no
[10]
you posh laughter that just got
[20]
damn rude the amount of times like that
[23]
it does I don't even need to do anything
[24]
to just like get people to say that -
[27]
it's my first day and I was looking
[28]
around I was like just a bunch of posh
[31]
in the school I was like I dunno I
[34]
don't know I felt like an outcast there
[36]
was a bit of a town and gown situation
[39]
like the people in the town didn't
[41]
really like really went to the school I
[44]
think I'm quite common so I think I am
[47]
I'm like the one pointing the fingers at
[49]
the private school girls like yeah
[52]
that's not made by the bounty that would
[56]
give me the bounty I thought well I'm
[57]
not bound him as he was well-spoken
[58]
there having been in the North London
[60]
area I think I don't have that much of a
[62]
posh accent so I'm alright the mummy and
[66]
daddy pay for that did they pay for my
[68]
private school education and yes they
[71]
did I was not supporting myself at age
[73]
13 my parents would be like yeah we did
[76]
yes we did
[77]
and it's my birthday every goddamn Dame
[80]
my present well for me you know that I
[84]
racked up I can never pay back if you
[86]
let your kids just live off you then
[88]
where do you draw the line
[90]
no yeah they're gonna be in that my
[92]
mum's just come down to London and she
[94]
open my fridge and she said oh I want to
[96]
cry or you've got his cheese in an onion
[98]
no no my mom and my mom I call mommy
[100]
it's always nice
[101]
it's definitely Bobby level but like
[103]
that it's kind of like because obviously
[104]
I should be orders I keep it I keep it I
[106]
keep it full with my dad above our last
[108]
sometimes I call my mum mummy that's
[112]
really bad that's what I want so also
[115]
just gay culture daddy means something
[118]
completely different
[120]
oh this is brilliant you must love polo
[125]
if they mean the mint to the hole then
[127]
yes yes I do I did you so horse rise do
[131]
but it was it was just that it was just
[134]
the assumption that because I horse rode
[136]
it was polo
[137]
this is like the assumption and break
[138]
time is that you know and we think grab
[141]
our horses out the stables and we go and
[143]
play a good game of polo I have never
[147]
played that ever like I've never even
[149]
build a horse it's like a fast-paced
[151]
croquet on horses my understanding of it
[157]
yeah I do love croquet hey such a boring
[162]
riveting game okay and I did want one in
[169]
chief society yeah I mean we used to
[172]
like go to the go to the dining room and
[175]
sit round and just drink wine have
[177]
cheese's I'm not telling anyone that I
[180]
do this you're so lucky
[187]
do you know what actually I think I was
[191]
lucky privileged yeah exactly
[194]
well and I think what's the difference
[195]
between privilege and luck I'm grateful
[197]
you know I mean like I'm not like one of
[199]
those snobby rich kids it's like yeah
[201]
I'm so lucky but you're not you know I
[203]
mean I think people sort of confuse luck
[206]
with ease
[207]
so I think because we were lucky it was
[210]
easy
[211]
you're still failure a-levels even if
[213]
you go to a school like I had friends
[214]
that didn't do well me too maybe mother
[217]
[Laughter]
[220]
you know any black people the Prince of
[225]
Nigeria went to a school do you know any
[228]
black people did any black people go to
[229]
your school I have plenty of black
[231]
friends you know I mean we're not
[232]
private schools not some kind of like
[234]
supremacist scheme worse thing with
[241]
these I pause which makes even worse I
[243]
don't just go know what I do I pause and
[245]
I think auntie cool as any cultural
[251]
divide in any environment there were
[253]
white people there were Asian people
[256]
there were black people they'd always
[258]
find my friend who was black
[261]
and they'd have him in like every school
[263]
photo
[264]
oh my school was so white so white well
[267]
look nowhere they were like I think
[269]
there were three black guys I'd like a
[271]
picture of the orchestra would you send
[285]
your kids to private star hundred
[287]
percent arts my kids to private school I
[288]
would not I actually kind of have a bit
[290]
of a grounding having been in the
[292]
education sector yeah
[294]
and actually I have a two-year-old and I
[296]
absolutely want to send her to private
[298]
school if I'm able person for me why
[300]
appreciate the opportunity and it was a
[304]
great privilege I don't think it's
[307]
something that it's needed to I felt a
[311]
big level of pressure when I was in
[313]
private school because I think that you
[315]
know people are sitting like these big
[316]
standards and they think that you do
[318]
should be getting my amazing grays and
[320]
going off like me a doctor or a lawyer
[322]
and I did feel like a lot of pressure
[325]
because I wasn't in that I wasn't in
[327]
that box I wasn't meeting that criteria
[329]
the best thing about going to private
[331]
schools was the long holidays
[334]
yeah hungry yeah what was it I think we
[338]
had like ten weeks for summer my private
[340]
school there was only about 400 of us so
[342]
there's a real sense of community and
[344]
everyone kind of looked out for each
[345]
other so did we just say the best thing
[347]
about being at private school was not
[348]
being there
