Channel: European Sanchari

[1]
Hello welcome everyone to
[3]
another vlog of European Sanchari
[7]
Today I shall be talking
[9]
about settling in Germany
[12]
In other words, the process between
[14]
getting a Blue Card to a PR
[16]
Because we received a lot
[18]
of requests about doing a video
[21]
in google forms asking about
[24]
about settling in Germany
[27]
Thank you very much for considering this
[30]
form and giving your suggestions.
[33]
So welcome to an information vlog.
[37]
When we are on permanent settlement
[39]
we are known to be of having the
[41]
so called key term 'PR'
[45]
In Germany, this is commonly known
[47]
as Settlement Permit
[49]
as well as 'Niederlassungserlaubnis'
[51]
in German
[53]
There are two types of settlement
[55]
permit in Germany
[57]
Firstly, the normal settlement permit
[60]
With this permit one can settle
[63]
for life in Germany
[66]
as well as up to 90 days
[68]
in any EU member country
[70]
Secondly, the EU settlement permit
[74]
with this one can settle
[76]
in any member states of EU (country specific rules may apply)
[80]
I shall, hereafter call
[82]
settlement permit as PR because
[84]
of convenience reasons
[87]
There are few conditions to be
[89]
eligible for a PR
[92]
the first one should have resided
[94]
in Germany for 5 years
[97]
Secondly, he/she is financially stable
[101]
While applying, the foreigner's office
[104]
shall ask for last 3 months' salary
[108]
slips that needs to be submitted
[110]
Thirdly, contributions are made to the
[112]
statutory pension scheme
[115]
In case if you have a job here
[117]
you are paying this monthly
[120]
Fourthly, a certain proficiency
[122]
in German language is required
[124]
Lastly, there aren't any criminal records.
[128]
When applying for a PR,
[130]
one needs to have a valid work visa
[132]
at the time of applying
[134]
It can be either normal work permit
[138]
or a Blue Card, which I shall talk more
[140]
a little later
[143]
The reason I mentioned is because
[146]
students with a student visa cannot apply
[149]
even though they stayed for 5 years
[152]
he/she needs to have a work visa
[155]
which is obtained after
[157]
finding a job here.
[160]
I stated already that one needs to be
[163]
in Germany for 5 years before applying for PR
[167]
However, there are some sectors
[169]
with a shortage for skilled workers
[172]
There are mainly IT, Engineering,
[175]
Human Medicine, Natural Science etc
[179]
So this special work permit that
[182]
attracts highly skilled professionals
[185]
from Non EU countries,
[187]
introduced by EU
[189]
is the Blue Card
[192]
The advantage is that
[195]
the time to getting a settlement permit
[198]
from 5 years is reduced
[200]
Moreover, relaxed conditions apply
[203]
to bring one's spouse to Germany, mainly
[206]
German language requirement does not apply
[210]
Now I shall tell you the
[212]
minimum requirements to get a Blue Card
[215]
Firstly, one should hold a Degree
[218]
Either from a German University
[224]
or a Degree from your place, recognized in Germany
[229]
Secondly, a valid job offer is at hand
[234]
Thirdly, your work and the field of study is relevent
[240]
Lastly, and the deciding factor is the salary, i.e
[244]
at least 55200 € gross annual income
[254]
Now, if your job falls within the shortage skilled sector
[260]
this income is reduced to 43056 €
[264]
So, these amounts 55200 € and 43056 €
[272]
is annual income before tax
[275]
In German its called Brutto Gehalt
[278]
Despite having or not having a Blue Card,
[281]
I shall be saying now about the minimum
[285]
time to obtain a PR
[287]
There are different ways to get it
[290]
let us consider each one of them
[293]
It takes 2-3 years to complete Master studies
[297]
thereafter on a job seeker visa upto 18 months
[303]
What I, hereafter, say is also applicable
[307]
to a professional from a non EU country
[310]
planning to migrate, work and settle here
[313]
In addition to blue card's minimum requirements
[317]
if your job falls within the shortage skilles sector
[322]
and your income is at least 43056 €
[326]
you are eligible for a Blue Card
[329]
in case if it is less than 43056 €
[332]
you shall obtain a normal work permit
[335]
if your job does not fall into the shortage skilled sector
[340]
but you get a minimum of 55200 €
[344]
you are still eligible
[347]
Next is the transition from work permit
[349]
to settlement permit. How fast
[352]
do you get your settlement permit is based on whether
[355]
(Point 1)
[356]
(Point 2)
[359]
(Point 3)
[364]
Let us take the case of Blue Card Holders
[367]
After 21 months from obtaining the Blue Card
[370]
you can apply for a PR
[373]
B1 level of German
[376]
if you have A1 level of German instead
[380]
you can apply after 33 months
[384]
Now for the case of non blue card holders
[387]
if you are a graduate from German University
[390]
and hold B1 level of German
[392]
you can apply after 24 months
[396]
If you don't fall in any of these 3 categories
[400]
you fall into the general criteria
[403]
In other words, you can apply for PR
[406]
after 5 years
[411]
Now that you are eligible
[414]
we shall now see the application documents required
[419]
1. the house contract
[422]
2. a certificate of confirmation
[424]
from the house owner
[427]
known in German as Wohnraumbestätigung
[431]
3, some Foreign office authorIties may ask
[434]
to submit copies of utility bills
[437]
4. Job Contract
[440]
5. 3 months of salary slips
[443]
6. Proof of having paid the Statutory Pension Scheme
[451]
Its called Rentenversicherungsverlauf
[455]
Depending upon the case you are
[459]
eligible for PR
[462]
7. German language requirements
[464]
either A1 or B1
[468]
then the application form
[471]
photo, passport
[474]
and costs between
[477]
100-150 € depending upon the individual case
