What Is The Difference Between Private Banking And Wealth Management - YouTube

[0]
In this video, I'm going to talk about what's the聽聽
[1]
difference between private banking and聽 wealth management and why you need both?
[15]
So, in this video, I'm going to talk kind of about聽 three things specifically. The difference between聽聽
[20]
private banking and wealth management more聽 specifically your relationship with your local聽聽
[25]
private banker and just really for those of you聽 beginning your banker and then the big one the big聽聽
[31]
one at the end. How do you become a bank? Can't wait to teach you that. Let's start with the definition聽聽
[36]
of private banking and wealth management. So, a lot of you that are out there and you think, "Well, this聽聽
[40]
isn't for me because I'm not even close", we'll stay聽 here right now because it could be you and I want聽聽
[45]
to motivate you to make it you. So private banking聽 is a section within most banks for high net worth聽聽
[52]
individuals. That's simple. You say, "Well, what's high聽 net worth?", well, I can tell you you're going to have聽聽
[56]
to be millionaire to walk through the doors. But聽that's not going to take very long. I'm the聽聽
[60]
millionaire-maker I have a three to five-year plan.聽 I have people right now though in the Covid
[64]
period now with the volatility of the market.聽 Becoming millionaires in a year 18 months this聽聽
[69]
is not difficult. But private banking is when you聽 start banking on the other side of the bank. Now,聽聽
[75]
wealth management are typically wealth management聽 firms. There's a lot of firms in the country. Some
[79]
really good ones some really crappy ones and they聽 will help manage your money and your wealth as you聽聽
[85]
accumulate it. Typically, they'll have a standard聽 a lot of like beginning firms they'll take you at聽聽
[90]
a quarter million half million and then they'll聽 grow you as you grow your wealth into you know聽聽
[96]
1, 2, 5, you know 10 million and plus. So, there聽 is a difference and they do coexist you're going聽聽
[101]
to have both. Now, let's just talk about banking聽 before we go on. So, banking has a 10x rule.
[108]
So, what happens when you put a deposit in the bank and for those of you that are beginners and聽聽
[112]
staying tuned thank you. My first goal for you is to help you make 100,000 dollars. I love聽聽
[118]
the first hundred, it's the most difficult. Because聽 we're employee trained not entrepreneurial trained.
[123]
So you can't take employee skills that you might聽 have learned in college and become an amazing聽聽
[128]
entrepreneur. You're going to need to get mentoring聽 and help with someone like me to show you how do聽聽
[132]
you make that first 100 quick and believe me, I promise I actually have a guarantee I'll do it in聽聽
[136]
less than a year. So we can kind of get over that聽 learning curve of becoming a great entrepreneur.聽聽
[141]
The next goal is that you become accredited. That's聽 a 200,000 per year goal and for two years in a row聽聽
[148]
if you make 200,000 or more or as a couple 350 or聽 more you're now considered accredited and with the聽聽
[154]
accredited status now you have access to invest聽 in all sorts of alternatives that you normally聽聽
[159]
couldn't invest in PPMs prospectuses, private聽 businesses, a lot of real estate deals, phenomenal.聽聽
[165]
So our first goal is 100 our next goals are聽 credited our next goal's a millionaire and then聽聽
[170]
once you hit a million you're off to the races.聽 Now, back to banking. Picking that first bank of聽聽
[175]
where you're going to do this growth is important.聽 They do need to have a encourage you I'll say it聽聽
[180]
that way. I would encourage you to have them have聽 a private section of the bank so you move there聽聽
[184]
sooner than later. So, here's how banks work. If you聽put 100,000 in the bank's deposits per year.
[190]
You give them a 10 what's called the 10x rule. They get to reach up to the central banks and get a聽聽
[195]
million. So, they get 10 times your deposits. So now聽 let's go the other side. Why private banking works聽聽
[201]
and it's so important and why your relationship聽 personally is so important. You put a million in聽聽
[206]
you now gave that bank the opportunity to get 10聽 million. You say, what do they do with it? They give聽聽
[211]
you loans. They give individuals loan. They give聽 companies loans. So they make money on what's聽聽
[216]
called the spread like you're not getting paid聽 for your deposits. I mean there's people who聽聽
[221]
actually you know motivate you and give you聽 a coffee pot or some little trinket because聽聽
[225]
you're going to move from one bank to the other.聽 Because they're motivating you to put in deposits聽聽
[229]
with their collective deposits in a bank they get聽 10x that is their loan ability. So then they聽聽
[235]
can put out loans. So, knowing that, way back in聽 the day I'll tell you a quick little story how聽聽
[239]
I got a laundry mat on my terms. So, I went into the聽 bank and knowing this I actually put a spreadsheet聽聽
[244]
together of the years and years that I've been聽 doing deposits and I was on the private side.
[249]
So I knew my guy really well and I walked in with聽 this little spreadsheet of all the money that I聽聽
[253]
put into his bank on deposits millions of dollars.聽 I said, "So I know that I have put millions in聽聽
[259]
and you got this. You got 10 times that amount to聽 then borrow out to customers at 7-10%. I mean people聽聽
[266]
with bad credit 12%. You made all that money. Well, I gave you the benefit of that. So, knowing that聽聽
[271]
I'd like a free loan", we had a fun little聽laugh. He said, "Aren't you cute?", I said, "Well, I am."聽聽
[276]
But I know you have to go to committee which聽 banks go to committee once a week or one聽聽
[280]
at least once a week if not more than that. But they'll go to committee and they'll talk about聽聽
[283]
the different folks applying for loans. So, of聽 course they brought me up and they brought my聽聽
[288]
little presentation that I gave them and they聽 came back and I got a two percent loan. Now, I聽聽
[292]
got two hundred thousand dollars for two percent.聽 Now, I had two hundred thousand in the bank already聽聽
[297]
invested in other things. So obviously the first聽 obvious answer is why don't you use your own money?聽聽
[302]
Because that's invested at more than two聽 percent. So if I that invested say at 12, why do聽聽
[307]
I want to take out that to use my own money when聽 I can use yours. You've used mine for the whole time.
[312]
So I have a lot to teach you. If you're liking聽 this content I need you to subscribe right now聽聽
[316]
and then give me lots of thumbs up. because聽 I'm going to be here every day giving you聽聽
[320]
new content new financial literacy about money聽 and it's important. Because when you get to that聽聽
[325]
point where you need a banking conversation I want聽 you to ring me up and say, "Loral, coach me give me聽聽
[329]
a script on how you know help me get my two percent loan", and so I'll help you put that聽聽
[334]
presentation together and do the conversation聽 and so I bought a new laundromat for 200 grand聽聽
[340]
and got it for two percent which is like free聽 money. So, when you really understand the system聽聽
[345]
it's to your advantage. Because right now聽 a lot of people didn't even know that basic rule聽聽
[349]
of private banking of just banking in general and聽 then private banking how you can use it. So let's聽聽
[354]
speak of that like that was a little bit of my聽 second term before I go into wealth management.聽聽
[359]
You really do need a relationship. The challenge聽 in today's day and era with all this digital
[364]
access going on you can pretty much do a lot of聽 your transactions digitally and you there's no聽聽
[370]
face behind the bank. I cannot encourage you enough聽 to walk through those doors and get to know the聽聽
[374]
human who's actually the brain the decision-maker聽 behind your requests. So really important that you聽聽
[381]
get to know ideally if you're at small enough聽 banks you get to know the bank president or the聽聽
[385]
lending officers but get to know them and you know聽 what even if you don't qualify for private banking聽聽
[390]
I'll give you a little homework walk through the聽 doors and introduce yourself say I'll see you soon聽聽
[394]
and then make it happen. That's my favorite聽 activity part of it. Because it puts you on the聽聽
[399]
line for a commitment that I want you to keep and聽 I know I can help you with. Now, let's go to the聽聽
[404]
other side wealth management. Wealth management聽 is the collective. Now, you can give your聽聽
[408]
money to a wealth management firm there's a lot聽 of good ones and then like I said there's bad ones聽聽
[412]
and what I'm going to teach you is to do some聽 of your own wealth management to understand聽聽
[416]
your money rules. To understand the integration聽 of wealth. So the reason I exist and built聽聽
[422]
the company the way that I did because I'm not聽a financial planner. I'm not licensed.聽聽
[426]
I really curated a whole team of experts from聽 alternative financial planners, to tax strategists,聽
[432]
people are just simple CPAs, I got bookkeepers,聽 real estate experts, ma experts, insurance, trusts,聽聽
[440]
corporate structure, you name it. So, a huge聽 team of experts that when you come in you get聽聽
[445]
access to them. The benefit is we all talk to each聽 other. How many people on your wealth team talk聽聽
[449]
to each other including your wealth management聽 team? Because your wealth management team聽聽
[454]
might have insurance. it might have a trust, typically it doesn't. It's really just聽聽
[459]
management of your family office in these assets. But those people have to talk to the people that聽聽
[464]
have insurance, your entities, your trust, your聽 tax advisor, all these people have to have one聽聽
[469]
conversation not five or six and then there you聽 are in the middle trying to manage it all. So my聽聽
[473]
goal is to be your educator, to be your advocate, to stand in the middle of all those people and help聽聽
[477]
put together a proper wealth management plan with聽 your goals, your family's goals, and your family's聽聽
[482]
legacy, and then you'll be using private banking as聽 part of that strategy. So, the last and most fun is聽聽
[489]
how to be your own bank? So when you require enough聽 money you can be a bank in several ways. You聽聽
[494]
can be a hard money lender or you can borrow聽 your money to different real estate folks or聽聽
[499]
I know people who do it just in private aviation聽 where they're helping people buy planes, whatever.聽聽
[503]
Buy businesses so you can be your own bank by being聽a lender and again, you would want to use the聽聽
[508]
private banking and the structure because that's聽 what's going to hold your money. You can actually聽聽
[512]
work escrow accounts for you to help manage and聽 control all that. Another way to be your own bank聽聽
[517]
is through life insurance there's very specific聽 policies. In fact, there's seven that we that our聽聽
[522]
insurance expert uses and that'll come on a future聽 video. How to be your own bank and how to put money聽聽
[528]
into insurance but then you get the capacity to聽 borrow it back out. so essentially it's your money聽聽
[534]
being leveraged back out to go buy real estate.聽 You can buy businesses. You can invest in your own聽聽
[540]
business. But essentially you're your own bank and聽 your own cycle of cash it's phenomenal. So, there's聽聽
[546]
lots of ways to be your own bank. Those are my聽 two favorite my favorite is accumulating enough聽聽
[551]
money and being the lender and you could create聽 your own fund. You could create your own private聽聽
[555]
equity firm that's for later conversation. But I聽 just want to invite you to think about even on a聽聽
[560]
small scale say that you accumulate 100-200,000 be聽 very cautious and aware of those loans especially聽聽
[567]
your family and friends. Sometimes those don't get聽 paid back. I'm not a fan of those at all but I am a聽聽
[573]
fan of working with a private banker working with聽 other people who have been a bank and how do you聽聽
[578]
do convertible debt lending and how do you become聽 the bank to help other people fund their dream. You聽聽
[583]
get first position you'll get the asset back if it聽 doesn't work. Much stronger position than being an
[588]
equity partner. Lots to teach you, lots more again,聽 if you haven't subscribed yet do that again now聽聽
[594]
and I will see you every day right here聽 on this channel. Before we leave though聽聽
