In 2020-21 it also became the number 1 port in container handling by beating JNPT port

This port is located in mundra of Gujarat in the gulf of kutch

It started its commercial operations from oct 2001

This port also have india first private rail line "Mundra adipur" rail line, Which was started in 2001

This rail line is also capable of carrying double stack container

This line is also connected with indian railway network

It became the first port of India to reach 100 million metric tonne cargo handling in 2013-14

It handled 144 MMT cargo in 2020-21 which was the highest in india

The second position was taken by kandla port with 117 MMT of cargo handling

this is one of the deepest ports of india with a depth of 18 meters

The more depth allow handling of bigger ships

This port have the maximum capacity of 338 MMT in a year which is the highest in India

This port have the world largest coal import terminal

This port is built in a strategic area which gives connectivity to middle East, Europe & africa

This port have it's own multi product based special economic zone

which was first of India & started its operation in 2003

It have it's own airport which comes under mundra special economic zone

This airport will be developed as international air cargo hub & it's development it's going on

As it is located in a dry area it doesn't have any operational day loss due to weather
