Aesthetic DIY - I make Clear Layered SHRINK DINK pins and keychain!? - YouTube

Channel: unknown

[0]
hey guys it's me minori and my pepe max
[3]
welcome back to my channel hi
[6]
oh my gosh look at my hand you can tell
[8]
that i was making some art
[10]
anyways shrink dinks i'm sure a lot of
[13]
you guys know what shrink dinks are
[14]
and to those of you who don't know it's
[16]
basically like this plastic sheet of
[18]
paper where you can draw on it
[19]
and when you put it into the oven it
[21]
kind of shrinks into hard plastic
[23]
i mean it's really fun you can make it
[25]
into pens you can make it into like
[27]
keychains
[28]
accessories but there's actually a lot
[30]
of ways to use shrink thinks
[31]
you can kind of like curl it up when
[33]
it's still warm and you can make it into
[35]
like a ring
[36]
you can make like a flower which i have
[38]
done before a long time ago but today i
[40]
want to use this technique where you
[42]
kind of like make
[43]
layers and you can kind of stack them up
[45]
you can draw different things on each
[47]
layer
[47]
and make it kind of look like 3d kinda
[50]
i mean you'll see what i'm talking about
[52]
so today i'm going to be making some
[54]
like
[55]
layered shrink pink art let's get
[57]
started
[67]
before anything i went to the craft
[68]
store to buy some stuff that i need or
[71]
don't need for this project and i
[73]
decided to buy something called paper
[74]
theater
[76]
hmm which one should i get there's lots
[78]
of pokemons
[79]
[Music]
[81]
and there's also a lot of ghibli ones
[86]
english instructions included this is so
[88]
pretty
[89]
there's minions cinderella tingles
[92]
oh here we have the very asian ones
[95]
samurais
[96]
which ones would you guys choose okay so
[99]
here's what i got
[100]
i got sailor moon boku no hero toy story
[103]
and the little mermaid i don't think i'm
[105]
going to use all of them today but i
[107]
just had to buy them because i just love
[109]
all of them
[110]
like look at this this is so cute boku
[113]
no hero is
[113]
amazing and i just couldn't resist
[116]
anyways so today i think i'm going to
[118]
start off with toy story
[120]
if you look at the back it tells you how
[121]
many parts there are
[123]
and i think oh god that's a lot of parts
[126]
yeah let's start off with toy story i
[128]
also got a glue
[130]
small scissors tweezers for crafting and
[133]
this pen that's
[134]
actually glue this is so interesting
[136]
i've never used it before
[138]
oh okay it's like transparent so
[141]
basically it's glue
[142]
and i know you're going to need to like
[144]
glue onto like small surfaces
[146]
so i thought this may help so first off
[149]
you want to
[150]
open it and let's see what's inside
[153]
it comes with an instruction sheet and
[155]
all these little
[156]
parts so before anything we kind of need
[158]
to build this up
[160]
okay i'm going to be using these sheets
[161]
to make some really easy diy today
[164]
but i kind of need to build it up it's
[166]
really not that hard
[168]
i mean at least for this toy story one
[170]
it's really easy and straightforward
[172]
with not that many parts
[174]
so it took me about like 30 minutes to
[175]
finish it up
[179]
and here we have it oh it's so cute
[182]
it's like a little spaceship crane game
[184]
and this is how it turned out
[186]
and now we're done let's move on to the
[188]
string things i wonder if one is enough
[192]
maybe here here
[196]
no it's not enough so i guess we need at
[199]
least two sheets per project
[201]
so all we're going to do now is to place
[204]
the sheet on top
[206]
and we're just going to trace it and
[208]
like always i'm going to use my posca
[210]
paint pens
[211]
and just a tip when you're tracing it
[213]
you need to make sure that they're all
[214]
going the same direction
[216]
like when you're tracing it you want to
[217]
trace it like this don't trace it like
[219]
this where they're all looking different
[220]
directions
[221]
just because you can save like a little
[223]
bit of space because when you shrink it
[225]
they're all going to be deformed
[227]
just make sure you're tracing it the
[229]
right way and
[230]
using my pasta paint pen i'm just going
[232]
to trace it
[233]
like literally that's it like this is so
[236]
easy because all you need to do is trace
[238]
it
[239]
but you need to be careful don't use too
[241]
much paint it doesn't need to be opaque
[243]
actually when it shrinks it kind of
[245]
covers up small areas so it's okay if it
[247]
looks a bit streaky
[249]
however when you use too much paint on
[251]
one spot then it kind of bundles up and
[253]
turns out all weird at the end
[255]
so you want to be careful with how much
[256]
paint you use but then this happens
[268]
it's okay it's okay it's fixable don't
[271]
fret
[271]
even if this happens it actually happens
[274]
a lot with popsicle paint pens
[276]
they kind of explode at random times all
[278]
you need to do is gently clean it up
[280]
with
[280]
tissue while it's still wet another
[282]
shrinking tip
[284]
it's so fun to say that shrink dink tip
[287]
when it shrinks the colors kind of turn
[289]
bold
[289]
like a few shades darker so keep that in
[292]
mind when you're coloring in
[293]
you'd want to go for the lighter colors
[295]
and since some of the pens have like
[297]
really broad tips
[298]
like this one that i'm using i only have
[300]
that color in that size so it was a
[302]
little too big to make small details
[304]
so i waited until it kind of dried up
[307]
and then use this toothpick to scratch
[309]
off the excess
[311]
you could use your nails or anything
[313]
that won't like scratch the sheet
[315]
you just want to like gently scrub it
[316]
off so basically you don't need to worry
[318]
about messing up you can always clean it
[320]
up later so
[321]
just go for it i'm going to add the
[324]
small details on top of them
[325]
but again really be careful when you're
[327]
overlapping because it's going to bunch
[329]
up at the end when you put too much
[331]
paint on one spot
[332]
and i'm sorry about my head my head
[336]
sometimes my head gets into the camera
[338]
because you know i need to sometimes
[340]
look really close at them to get the
[342]
really small details
[343]
at the end i just use fine tip pens to
[346]
draw the outline
[347]
to make it easier to see but i kind of
[350]
regret that
[351]
i used multi-liner pen for that but
[353]
after i baked it in the oven
[354]
it turned out a bit weird so i would
[357]
really suggest using sharpie
[359]
now that we're done tracing we need to
[361]
cut along the lines
[363]
shrink things are kind of hard to make
[364]
small cuts honestly this part is the
[367]
most tedious part out of all
[369]
i recommend using small scissors and i
[372]
guess we're done
[374]
and now it's time to bake it all we're
[377]
going to do now is to put them in one by
[378]
one into the toaster
[380]
and bake it for a few minutes i mean you
[382]
can do it all at once but i want to be
[384]
like really careful so i want to do it
[386]
one by one
[388]
oh and before that i forgot i cut them
[390]
so they're all the same shape
[392]
after you bake them you won't be able to
[394]
make any changes
[395]
so you want to make the last adjustments
[397]
before you put it into the oven
[400]
and into the oven we go
[409]
it's always so interesting looking at
[411]
them shrink
[421]
when it's still hot place it between
[423]
cookie sheets and put a book on top to
[425]
make them flat
[426]
oh yes it's going to be really hot so if
[429]
you're still a kid
[430]
please don't do this by yourself please
[432]
have a parent or guardian with you
[434]
and if you're an adult well then it's
[436]
kind of up to you
[437]
but just be careful we're going to do
[440]
the same thing for all the sheets
[450]
[Music]
[460]
[Music]
[483]
[Music]
[488]
oh the eyes kind of turned weird i think
[491]
i used too much pasta paint pen there
[494]
they all turned into plastic and now
[496]
we're just supposed to
[498]
place them in order
[501]
and there we have it however when i put
[504]
them all together i kind of noticed that
[506]
it got a little bit cloudy
[508]
i think there's too many layers so i'm
[511]
going to take away a few
[513]
i honestly don't like how this one
[514]
turned out i mean his eyes are all like
[517]
weird so i'm going to take this one out
[519]
i obviously need the first layer
[521]
this layer i feel like this works i
[524]
think i like it with
[525]
just three layers so i'm going to keep
[527]
it like this oh i could make another one
[530]
with the layers that i didn't use
[534]
now that we've made one easy one let's
[536]
move on to the harder ones
[538]
today i'm going to try making a sailor
[540]
moon one the anime ones like the boku no
[544]
hero
[544]
as well have a lot of small parts
[546]
compared to the disney ones
[548]
and since everything is going to be so
[550]
detailed not only will it take like a
[552]
long time to make them
[553]
it will also be difficult to make them
[555]
into shrink things
[556]
but you know art is about trying so
[558]
let's just try and see what happens
[561]
i have to say that the glue pen that i
[562]
used worked so well
[565]
i'm so impressed if you guys are looking
[567]
for like glue to glue on small parts i
[569]
definitely recommend
[573]
oh my gosh this part is so small
[576]
it's like impossible to take it out
[578]
without ruining it
[579]
like i've never seen such pen before
[582]
have you
[583]
am i late i don't know but i was amazed
[587]
and the tweezers definitely helped
[589]
seriously the parts were so small
[591]
like i honestly lost a part after i took
[594]
it out because
[594]
it went somewhere but then it was like
[597]
eh i mean if it's that small
[599]
probably it doesn't make that big of a
[601]
difference well it kind of does but you
[603]
know nothing to like to worry about
[606]
since it was a lot more detailed and
[608]
this direction sheets were so long
[610]
i actually messed up quite a few times
[612]
after i glued it sometimes i will notice
[614]
that i put the wrong parts or like i put
[616]
it upside down or
[618]
i would just peel it off and then try to
[620]
glue it back without showing any
[621]
mess-ups
[625]
this took me like two hours there was
[627]
like a lot of small
[628]
details it took a long time
[632]
okay now on to shrink dinks okay so for
[635]
my first batch i noticed that i
[636]
shouldn't use too many layers because
[638]
it's going to cloud up
[639]
so i think i'm going to group them up
[641]
i'm going to make this a layer
[643]
the second layer and the last layer
[649]
i first started outlining and coloring
[651]
in the first page
[653]
but then i was like nah
[658]
i noticed that it would be cuter if i
[660]
actually make the bow on the top right
[662]
like a separate piece and kind of like
[664]
glue on top of it
[665]
so i decided to not draw the ribbon on
[667]
the first sheet
[668]
and it was honestly quite hard to draw
[670]
the characters i mean shrink think isn't
[673]
that easy to draw
[674]
on and posca paint tips were too big to
[676]
make tiny details
[678]
so i kind of regret choosing sailor moon
[680]
for this project
[681]
but after a long time i mean this alone
[684]
took like a good few hours to complete
[687]
i was finally done again we're just
[690]
going to cut it
[691]
and put it into the oven and make sure
[694]
that they're the same size so they will
[695]
be easy to line them up
[697]
at the end
[714]
do
[718]
[Music]
[728]
oh and yes here are the parts that i
[730]
made separately like i said before
[732]
i made the ribbon on the top right a
[734]
different piece
[735]
again we're just going to cut along the
[737]
lines and put it into the oven
[742]
so far so good my sailor moon parts are
[745]
finally complete
[747]
and now we're just going to stack them
[748]
in order and voila
[752]
[Music]
[754]
and finally with my leftover shrink dink
[756]
i'm going to make an original one
[758]
and as you guys know i'm currently so
[761]
into among us
[762]
so among us it is
[766]
[Music]
[770]
fun fact okay maybe not that fun but
[772]
like
[773]
while i was making these i was actually
[775]
watching amanga's videos the whole time
[778]
among us a lot of people don't like how
[780]
i say among
[781]
us but please i'm trying my best among
[784]
us
[785]
yes since i learned that three sheets
[787]
turn out the best i'm going to use three
[789]
layers for my final project
[791]
for this one i don't have like a base
[793]
i'm just making things off my head
[795]
i wanted to recreate that scene where
[796]
you know you get kicked out into the
[798]
space
[799]
with the letters so and so got ejected
[801]
so for the bottom layer i made it all
[803]
dark blue
[804]
like the space and in the middle layer i
[806]
drew the character
[808]
i did play for the first time a few days
[810]
ago and my favorite color to play with
[811]
was white
[812]
so white it is and then i added stars
[815]
all over on each and every sheet
[818]
and while i was waiting for the paint to
[819]
dry i kind of decided to make a random
[822]
imposter shrink think
[823]
because why not and then again i
[826]
repeated the steps and my
[828]
original among us layered shrink dig is
[834]
[Music]
[840]
complete
[842]
[Music]
[853]
[Music]
[863]
[Music]
[883]
[Music]
[891]
and this is how they turned out what do
[893]
you guys think there's so many things
[895]
you can make from these
[896]
i mean obviously you can make it into a
[897]
keychain you can make it into like a pen
[900]
obviously you can put them up on display
[902]
i am probably going to use resin and
[904]
stick
[905]
everything together and make it into
[906]
like a key chain i'll see
[912]
anyways i hope you guys like this video
[914]
and if you did please subscribe and
[916]
comment below
[917]
i also uploaded two videos last week so
[919]
if you haven't seen it yet please check
[921]
it out
[921]
and i guess i'll see you guys next video
[924]
bye
[926]
