[0]
good day first world travelers and welcome
back today I am a yet another absolutely
[4]
awesome area of Mexico City this is
Polanco let's have a look around!
[27]
so as I mentioned in previous videos
there's so many diverse areas of Mexico
[32]
City which for me as a first time in
Mexico City has been completely
[36]
mind-blowing because I didn't expect
there to be such a variety around this
[40]
huge city but Polanco is just another
example of what I'm talking about so
[44]
it's often referred to as the Beverly
Hills of Mexico City
[47]
you wouldn't think there will be an
area like that inMexico City right but
[50]
there is and just from walking around as
I've got here I can feel it already
[56]
there's people much better dressed if
you know what I mean nice cars Mercedes
[60]
BMWs and buildings as well great houses
that you know it actually does look a
[66]
bit like Beverly Hills and I have been
there so I'm in a park at the moment and
[70]
as you can see there's these purpley
pink lilac I don't know what color is
[74]
blossom trees basically which you can
see all over Mexico see particular in
[80]
places like Condesa
and Roma which are just amazing awesome
[85]
let's go for a walk
[91]
I spy with my little eye something
beginning with C looks like a church
[120]
so I've been in and out of the church I
didn't like to talk in there I think
[123]
it's disrespectful people praying et
cetera so I come outside
[127]
it's another impressive example of
churches in Mexico I think I actually
[130]
prefer this to the cathedral in the
historical center you've got the little
[134]
organ which is really cute up on the top
you've got the stained glass which is
[138]
really impressive and overall you know I
think the when I think about churches in
[143]
other countries particularly the UK this
is a hell of a lot more impressive in
[148]
terms of the design and the architecture
that sort of thing so yeah church is a
[152]
fantastic thing to see in Mexico City I'm
not gonna lie it's not something that I
[155]
normally I'm impressed by you know with
the exception of maybe places in Italy
[160]
this is awesome great place to come
[174]
so you know it's a great place for
filming when I can't stop filming
[178]
stuff because it's just awesome the sky
is clear blue that's not a cloud in the
[183]
sky it's very pretty
I don't use that word very often and
[188]
it's just lovely excellent and I don't
know where I'm going I'm just exploring
[192]
that's what Travel is about discovery so
let's continue up this road and see what
[197]
more stuff we can find okay my next stop
in Polanco is the Soumaya Museum
[203]
apologies if that's wrong it probably is
it's basically an art museum one of the
[208]
many museums in Mexico City are is a big
thing there's lots of art museums this
[214]
is modern art I believe so it was only
built in 2010 so it's quite new and it
[221]
was named after the wife of the guy that
designed it or built it and Soumaya
[226]
someone she died in 1999 so I'm just
going to look just look at the design of
[233]
it it's absolutely bonkers
it's a typical example of the
[237]
architecture you can find in Mexico see
you've got old stuff they've got new
[241]
stuff and of course in the plan Carrera
it's quite you know it's like I said
[245]
it's the Beverly Hills of Mexico see is
quite well-off and a lot of the
[249]
architecture is very modern so a lot of
buildings around there it actually feels
[255]
a lot like Canary Wharf in the UK
especially up that way near a San
[260]
Joaquin oh my god San Joaquin station a
lot of office blocks and I wouldn't say
[267]
skyscrapers but tall buildings sky look
[274]
okay it's brutal honesty time I am NOT a
fan of art I literally have zero
[279]
appreciation for art and going to this
museum was about as exciting as watching
[284]
paint dry
pardon the pun now if you are an art
[287]
fan this could be an absolutely awesome
place for you to go the guy that built
[290]
it Carlos Slim is the world's richest
man
[293]
yes he's the world's richest man that's
insane and as well as some more modern
[299]
things in terms of sculpture things like
that there is a lot of older art for
[302]
example van Gogh etc so in that respect
it was very impressive oh what's this
[313]
place behind me no video going to a posh
area would be complete without going to
[319]
a posh shopping centre you got Hermes
Louie Vuitton so I'm gonna pretend that
[323]
I'm rich and I'm gonna go shopping
window shopping
[345]
Oh
[385]
okay if you haven't seen something
already the blows your mind about Mexico
[389]
City this is it okay I've never seen so
many designer stores so close to each
[395]
other so they'll literally be a Prada on
each floor there'll be a Gucci on each
[400]
floor it's absolutely amazing I just
walked past coach I've never seen so
[403]
many shoes in my life this is better
than someone like Dubai my mind is
[407]
literally blown Dubai Hong Kong has
nothing on this place absolutely
[411]
brilliant so if you have got a bit of
extra money to spend when you're in
[415]
Mexico see definitely come here it's
brilliant
[425]
so I'm going to have a shopping orgasm
any moment now just walk past a shop
[429]
which has got posh expensive
chocolates in behind me our hundred inch
[434]
TVs there's a Samsung place only place
over there
[438]
so gang a bit flustered because of the
amount of materialistic items which I've
[444]
heard by if I was rich but unfortunately
I'm not there so I'm just gonna have to
[448]
look at them 4k it's literally amazing
its massive it's like I'm literally
[454]
there at Machu Picchu with the
alpacas I've been there by the way
[459]
obviously the filming on this phone
doesn't make it a very good but in
[464]
person it is literally out of this world
[496]
Oh
[511]
so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say
the Polanco is my favorite area of
[515]
Mexico City so far largely because it
pretty much sums up what this channel is
[520]
about first world traveler if you don't
know what that made basically I'm a bit
[524]
of a travels north I've got high
standards when it comes to traveling and
[526]
walking around an area like this I feel
very comfortable I feel at home
[530]
yes I'm a snob I don't care so I could
also walk around blanco literally all
[535]
day and do maybe an hour long video but
I think just about 10 minutes might just
[539]
be enough but hopefully I'll give you a
bit of a taste up so I hope you've
[543]
enjoyed having a look around Polanco as
much as I have definitely put this on
[546]
