Banking in INDIA vs USA! Scams to Avoid! Ft. Zolve! - YouTube

Channel: unknown

[0]
So hello friends. Today we are going to face the truth!
[2]
Because whenever you move to a new country,
[4]
not just the landscape changes
[6]
but also your experiences
[8]
with the new system in terms of education,
[10]
banking, healthcare, everything changes.
[13]
You sometimes assume that like it used to happen in India,
[16]
it will be the same here.
[18]
But the reality is completely different.
[20]
So is the system related to banking.
[22]
I have been living in the US from the last 5 years or more.
[25]
I have experienced so many frauds in banking.
[28]
So in this video, I will try my best to share in depth differences
[32]
between Indian banking system and American banking system.
[34]
So that the scams that are happening nowadays
[37]
with my classmates, with Indian students,
[39]
doesn't happen with you.
[40]
And also there will be a giveaway winner announcement
[43]
that I promised about iPhone 13
[45]
Stay tuned for that as well.
[47]
Number one difference in terms of bank accounts.
[49]
If you look at India, majority of people
[52]
have a personal savings account. e.g. State Bank of India.
[55]
And one FD.
[59]
in which they get an interest rate of upto 5-7%
[62]
If you create a SBI FD today, you will get 5% interest rate.
[66]
If you have 1 lakh INR FD, at the end of the year
[68]
you will have One lakh five thousand Rupees.
[70]
If you do it on savings, it will be 3-4% annual interest.
[74]
But if you use a Checking Account in the US,
[77]
Because most of the people in the US have a Checking Account
[79]
through which they can do faster transactions.
[81]
And if you create a savings account in the US,
[84]
you will get interest rate of maximum 0.1 or 0.2%
[89]
You won't get more than that.
[90]
I have seen many banks give you 0.01 which is barely nothing.
[93]
Due to this reason people create High Yield Savings Accounts.
[96]
That yields you 1-2%.
[98]
That is still far behind India.
[101]
The reason is, the inflation in the US is slow.
[106]
And in India, the inflation is very high.
[109]
Because if a chips packet costs 10 Rupees now,
[113]
At the end of the year, due to inflation, it will increase by 5%.
[118]
So it's much more.
[119]
The national rated inflation in the US is 2%.
[121]
If you buy a packet of chips in the US today
[124]
at a price of 10 dollars,
[126]
then, at the end of the year you can expect it to be 2 percent higher.
[129]
And if you are new to US or coming to US,
[132]
thanks to partners like Zolve
[134]
you can apply for credit card or US account while sitting at home in India.
[139]
And you can get started with your US credit card
[142]
or your US account as soon as you land.
[144]
You apply sitting at home
[146]
and your credit card and US account will be ready, the moment you land.
[149]
And the best part about Zolve US account is that they don't have a requirement
[153]
of minimum account balance.
[155]
Many banks charge huge amount of fees. But Zolve doesn't do that.
[160]
Now, difference number 2 - Banking fees charges.
[162]
You may not be used to this in India because UPI payment is so popular
[166]
that even US wants to copy India in terms of UPI
[170]
so that the high fee that the bank charges
[173]
because when you transfer money from one bank to another bank,
[176]
there's a fees called ACH fees
[179]
it's like you are transferring money from Bank of Baroda to SBI.
[183]
These two banks are not in US
[185]
Just as an example... You have to pay 1-3% fees.
[190]
But in India, it's not like that. You use UPI, you don't have to pay a fee!!
[196]
So that's a difference.
[197]
There's another catch.
[198]
Whenever you transfer money from one bank to another,
[201]
through money order or be it direct transfer,
[204]
the money takes 1-3 days to be visible on you mobile app
[210]
or visible to you that it has actually come.
[212]
I mean you may see it but it will be written on the bottom: processing.
[216]
So due to that processing, you might be scammed.
[219]
For example, my friend got a money order of 1700 dollars yesterday,
[225]
and that guy says... (he was selling something on marketplace)
[227]
He says that
[228]
I was supposed to give you 300$ but I am giving you 1700$
[232]
My friend sold something for 300$ but he already sent 1700$
[235]
So he asks my friend to send him 1400 back because he sent it by mistake.
[239]
So that guy thinks that his bank account got immediately funded with 1700
[243]
But
[244]
under that it was written processing.
[246]
Because it takes time for a money order to get verified.
[248]
Or sometimes it may take time for the amount to get verified.
[252]
So in that hurry, he gave him 1400 back.
[256]
1700 was funded, he sent 1400 back. And so he thought he got 300.
[259]
But the reality was that the 1700 dollars vanished after 3 days
[264]
and he lost 1400 dollars immediately.
[267]
That's how people cam scam you on FB Marketplace etc.
[270]
So be very very careful.
[271]
And all these fees - ACS fee, ATM fee, you don't need to worry about all these
[277]
with US account from Zolve.
[279]
Because Zolve's US account has zero minimum balance requirement
[283]
zero ACH fee
[284]
and you can withdraw money from Moneypass's ATM
[287]
as many times you wish with zero fees as well.
[290]
Now, next difference is: Credit Card.
[292]
I currently use 5 credit cards in the US.
[295]
When I was in India, neither my Nani nor any of my relatives did have one.
[302]
The reason is that UPI payments in India are very awesome!
[305]
You can transfer via UPI with anyone within seconds.
[309]
And this difference is just because, it's very important to have a credit card in the US.
[314]
Because, like, down the line after 3-4 years when you
[318]
would want to buy a car or an apartment with your credit score
[321]
which can be made up from your credit card
[323]
because you can prove that you are a good borrower.
[325]
If you have paid your credit card bill every month on time,
[328]
you have borrowed money, paid money, you are a good borrower.
[331]
And thanks to my favourite credit card Zolve.
[334]
You don't need to worry about loan payment or even credit card bill payment.
[339]
Because they have offers right now.
[341]
You get zero percent APR for first six months.
[343]
It doesn't have an application fee.
[345]
You get so many cashbacks
[346]
upto 10 percent. 5 percent, I have told you many times.
[348]
I keep shopping from Amazon, Patel Brothers. So it is amazing!
[352]
And all the remaining four credit cards that I use
[355]
they have travel benefits. I have shared in many vlogs
[358]
Many times you get a business class flight.
[361]
And that's only possible because of great credit cards.
[364]
In India, due to lack of credit cards,
[366]
if you want to go to Delhi from New York by emirates
[369]
that flight is 10,000 dollars.
[371]
But when do do big transactions for 4-5 years,
[377]
you will easily gather upto 100k points.
[379]
You can travel first class with these credit cards as well.
[382]
Because you will have so many points and you can save them for luxury flights.
[386]
And you might know, there's a score called CIBIL score in India
[389]
when you give them your PAN card for credit check while applying for loan,
[393]
then it is used.
[394]
Similarly in US it is FICO score.
[397]
If it is more than 600, that is okay.
[401]
If it is more than 700, it is extraordinary.
[403]
Mine is more than 700.
[404]
So that's why I keep applying for 3-4 credit cards.
[408]
And with Zolve, students can get credit limit upto 5k dollars.
[411]
And working professionals can get upto 10k dollars.
[414]
Phenomenal.
[414]
Now let's compare cashbacks.
[416]
You may have seen, whenever you do UPI payments,
[418]
whether it be GooglePay, PhonePe or Paytm,
[421]
you get cashbacks.
[423]
But those are very restricted.
[425]
Sometimes it's like you will get 250 Rupees only in this shop.
[428]
But the cashback you get with credit cards, that comes straight to your bank account.
[434]
5% cashback on Patelbrothers with Zolve.
[436]
5% Walmart.
[437]
This is more better I feel.
[439]
Because if you use travel credit card,
[442]
you can even get business class for free.
[445]
Which may even cost you upto 10 lakhs, for example Emirates.
[448]
And now, last difference about currency rates
[450]
When you come from India to the US, you have two currencies in mind.
[454]
Like, this stuff is so costly in India as compared to the US.
[458]
But to solve this problem- Because when your expenses increase,
[462]
you will need to ask for money from India frequently
[464]
And the fee for wire transfer is quite a bit.
[466]
I remember when I came, suddenly 50 dollars went out of my bank one day.
[471]
I was like, "How did this happen?" Then I realised that I'd borrowed money from home.
[474]
So 50 dollars was the fee for receiving that. Now the fees is $16 though.
[478]
But Zolve offers minimum transfer fee
[482]
whenever you need to transfer from India to US or US to India.
[486]
You can do with the Zolve account.
[488]
So that's pretty much the fastest
[490]
and the rate is quite low.
[492]
So that's why I recommend Zolve to all.
[494]
Now let's talk to our giveaway winner.
[595]

[598]
