Hello friends, CA Rachana Ranade here and
[2]
I welcome you all to my YouTube Channel.
[5]
I was getting many requests, "Please make a video on Impact of Elections on Stock Market"
[11]
So I thought, why not give my prediction of these results.
[13]
Watch this video till the end to know my predictions.
[17]
Before giving any predictions, I think
[19]
we should look at the past and
[22]
then predict what will happen in the future.
[25]
If you see at 2009 elections,
[26]
The government which came to power came with a thumping majority.
[31]
And the market gave fabulous returns.
[33]
In a single day, markets jumped 17.7%
[38]
This is called Upper Circuits.
[40]
To understand the concept of the Upper Circuit,
[42]
you should watch my video 'Basics of Stock Market'
[45]
which is available on my YouTube channel.
[48]
17% bullish move in a single day,
[51]
Is very rear scene in Stock Market.
[55]
If you recall 2014 Elections,
[59]
a strong BJP Government got into power.
[62]
Which resulted again in a 5.5% movement in the Market.
[67]
If we talk about Intraday movement on both days,
[71]
the term Intraday Volatility means,
[74]
how much the market moves up and down in one day.
[77]
If we only focus on this, you may get to know that,
[80]
during Election Results market fluctuates.
[85]
If you are afraid of fluctuations,
[88]
you need to invest cautiously.
[91]
How to invest cautiously?
[94]
During Elections, you should think of the long term rather than of short term.
[97]
at least think medium terms.
[99]
Why do you think of one day?
[102]
Let me tell you a simple Data Analysis,
[104]
Any Investor who had Invested during 2009,
[108]
and remained Invested in the Stock Market,
[111]
for the next 6 months,
[113]
he would have enjoyed a return on 38% in just 6 months.
[120]
Similarly, if an Investor had invested in 2014,
[124]
and stayed in the market for up to 6 months after Election results.
[130]
the investor would have earned a 16% return.
[134]
So my understanding is that,
[137]
If you want to Invest after elections,
[140]
and want the minimum risk.
[143]
please don't invest all at one time.
[145]
invest in small amounts,
[148]
so that even if the market fluctuates,
[151]
you will be at minimum risk.
[155]
Now, you have to decide,
[158]
what is your risk taking capacity.
[160]
I will give you one example,
[163]
to explain the meaning of risk-taking capacity.
[165]
Definitely, you would have watched '3 Idiots'
[167]
Which has three characters,
[169]
First is Ranchoddas Chanchad played by Amir Khan,
[171]
Farhan Qureshi played by R Madhavan
[176]
and Raju Rastogi by Sharman Joshi.
[179]
Three of them have different income levels,
[182]
they all come from a different financial background.
[184]
You may remember the scene where Virus starts to explain blackboard.
[188]
How Rachoddas Chanchad's family income large,
[194]
Then he starts comparing the family income of all three of them,
[196]
Then he confronts Raju Rastogi with the issue of his low family income.
[202]
Now, you think of an Investor of Raju Rastogi's category,
[205]
Enters the stock Market during election results,
[209]
and if he loses in this volatility,
[211]
then you can imagine,
[213]
why he would not get another chance to invest.
[217]
all his saving would vanish.
[220]
If you come from the lower, middle or higher middle-class financial background,
[228]
Please, understand I don't want to comment on someone's financial condition.
[235]
My intention is that you should self assess,
[241]
If you have surplus money,
[246]
on which you can take some risk,
[249]
then on you should trade or Invest
[252]
during Election Results.
[256]
If you don't have surplus money,
[259]
if you are from low-income group category,
[264]
do not risk your money with short term view.
[269]
You would have observed that in 2009 after the formation of strong government,
[273]
the market has given a handsome return.
[275]
Also in 2014 after elections, the market has given a good return.
[280]
what there is a Strong Government in the center.
[282]
I am not saying that either Congress or BJP is better for the market,
[286]
I am not here for any political agenda,
[288]
I am just trying to explain that in 2019,
[291]
any party wins with a good majority,
[298]
the probability of markets making new highs increases.
[303]
And I have said historically,
[305]
in the last 2 to 3 elections market have,
[308]
given good returns in the first 6 months.
[310]
It has a very good reason,
[313]
in early days of a government,
[315]
work is done rapidly.
[319]
which brings good enthusiasm in the markets.
[324]
Please share your views on Elections results, and comment down below.
[333]
And If you have any specific video request,
[337]
write in the comment section.
[339]
I will tell you a very small tip,
[341]
to chose which stock will be good after election results.
[345]
Consider BJP wins with a good majority
[350]
What you can do?
[351]
Party releases a Manifesto which includes its plans.
[361]
Details of work that will be done, areas which will be on focus
[370]
Let me tell you a simple example,
[371]
If election manifesto includes a plan to build roads,
[378]
you can consider Infrastructure companies for investment,
[382]
If the BJP government thinks it should work on the Power sector,
[389]
So you should see which companies are in the power sector.
[391]
and shortlist them, and after performing fundamental analysis on them,
[397]
you should think of investing.
[400]
If you want to learn more about Fundamental Analysis,
[404]
I will be posting a few videos on Fundamental Analysis.
