Do you need more projects to bid?
[1]
In this video I'm sharing where to find contracting opportunities, so stick around.
[9]
For the best government contracting and small business advice make sure you subscribe to
[15]
the channel, hit the notification bell, so that you're notified each week when we drop
[21]
new videos right here on the channel happening every Thursday, and when we go live on Tuesdays.
[50]
I'm so excited about this because this is something that I've helped thousands of other
[56]
contractors with.
[58]
When it's broken down you'll see, if you follow the steps, it's not as difficult as you think.
[63]
So let's dive into it.
[65]
We're diving into how to find prime contractors to do work for in any economy, even right
[73]
now.
[74]
Here's the first thing you want to do.
[77]
Look through your current customers, if you've done work before, and reach out to them, not
[84]
just even in your business.
[86]
So say you're just starting out in your business, well ideally if you're moving into a business
[92]
from maybe working a job or something like that, you've selected something where you
[95]
have some type of experience.
[98]
You can still tap into places you've worked in the past and see if maybe you can come
[104]
on as an independent contractor or a subcontractor and do work for them in that regard.
[112]
Or maybe even sit in the prime position just depending on what it is and how it's structured.
[118]
But don't discount your current and past customers as well as employees.
[125]
The other thing is even through your current customers, you may be able to find opportunities
[133]
that maybe they know about with other companies.
[137]
A lot of times I always tell people, "You have not because you ask not."
[142]
We may not know that you're looking for new opportunities if you're not sharing that.
[146]
I mean, it's kind of no different than with my Contractors Edge Bootcamp.
[150]
If I didn't share with you guys consistently that, "Hey, I have the Contractors Edge Bootcamp,
[156]
it's open for enrollment.
[158]
Here's what we do.
[159]
Here's how it's going to help you.
[161]
Here's the end result."
[162]
If I didn't share that, then people wouldn't know to seek it out.
[167]
They wouldn't know to ask more questions about it or they wouldn't say, "Hey, I need help."
[173]
So it's the same thing with if you have capacity right now to take on more work, let people
[179]
know.
[180]
The second way to find subcontracting work right now is to network.
[187]
Now, I'm not talking about traditional networking.
[191]
Yes, in a perfect world it works, but since we are confined right now, then we want to
[199]
think about creative ways to start finding some opportunities.
[202]
And here's the thing, it doesn't mean you have to start the opportunity today.
[207]
It's just that you find the opportunity, you lock down the deal, and then when our shelter
[214]
in place lifts, here you have work already scheduled out that you need to begin working
[219]
on.
[221]
So think about that.
[222]
And a great place to start looking for opportunities is LinkedIn.
[226]
A lot of people are sleeping on LinkedIn, especially a lot of my contractors.
[232]
Everything you need to know about a company is right there, links to their website, contact
[237]
person information, everything is right there.
[240]
But again, you need to know who's your customer in order to be able to use LinkedIn or any
[247]
other type of marketing avenue effectively.
[251]
Even when I say ask your current customers about the relationships they have or even
[256]
reaching out to past customers and seeing what opportunities they have, well you need
[260]
to know what they're offering and what their needs are to make sure it's a good fit.
[265]
It's the same thing with networking on LinkedIn, any other social media site, or even when
[271]
you start to go out networking again in person.
[273]
You need to know who's your customer so that you can seek out the right people and spend
[278]
time having conversations with the right people versus wasting a lot of time.
[284]
So that's very, very important.
[286]
Let me know down in the comments, are you looking for contracts to bid?
[291]
If your answer is yes, let us know what type of opportunities.
[295]
A lot of times there's synergy that goes on in the comments.
[299]
So let's use this time today and the comments today to share, if you're looking for opportunities,
[305]
what type of opportunities are you looking for.
[308]
Don't put a paragraph, but be very specific so that as other people see it, if they know
[313]
they can connect you with somebody or maybe if they need your service directly, they can
[318]
reach out to you that way.
[320]
So let us know in the comments, are you currently looking for bid opportunities and if so, what
[325]
type of opportunities are you looking for?
[328]
Okay, here's a great place to look for opportunities.
[332]
This is the third way you can start looking for opportunities.
[335]
And this is on SubNet.
[338]
So this is a SBA online portal where you'll have prime contractors looking for subcontractors.
[346]
Now again, you need to know who's your customer in order to use that website effectively.
[352]
I mean you can sit and scroll all day and go through all of them, but it would be so
[356]
much better if you kind of know who's your customer, what type of products or service
[361]
that you provide, and then you can really search and find the right opportunities for
[366]
you.
[367]
So don't sleep on SubNet.
[369]
Let's recap.
[370]
What did I say?
[371]
Let me look at my notes.
[373]
All right, so the first thing was to find prime contracting opportunities, or I'm sorry,
[380]
to find prime contractors to do work for.
[383]
One, you're going to go through your current customers, as well as past customers.
[389]
You're going to start networking, using social media right now because we're in a shelter
[393]
in place.
[394]
Then the third one was SBA SubNet.
[401]
Start looking for opportunities.
[403]
This is something that you should be doing on a daily basis.
[406]
This should be a part of your sales and marketing activities.
[410]
Now you have three ways that you can start finding prime contractors that have opportunities
[420]
for you right now so that you can start getting some subcontracting work.
[424]
If you need help finding opportunities, bidding the opportunity, reading the solicitation,
[431]
and then writing your proposal, I do want to invite you into the Contractors Edge Bootcamp
[437]
where we cover all those things.
[439]
Not only do we cover them, you're actually going to do it.
[442]
You're going to find an opportunity.
[444]
You're going to actually break down the solicitation and then you're going to actually write your
[449]
proposal.
[451]
So it is happening inside of the Contractors Edge Bootcamp.
[455]
Come join us.
[456]
Let's do your first bid together so you don't have to do it by yourself.
[460]
Have me there for support and be able to ask me questions along the way.
[463]
All right.
[464]
Oh, I should give you the link.
[467]
So the link for the bootcamp is Feliciastreeter.com/bootcamp.
[472]
The link will be down in the description.
