Channel: unknown
[3]
Hi Everyone my name is Tina Mason and Thank You聽
for watching. Today I am going to explain how聽聽
[8]
and why you should correct your W4 using the W4聽
Calculator. One of the best ways to improve your聽聽
[13]
personal finances is by increasing your cashflow.聽
Restructuring your expenses such as minimizing聽聽
[19]
your taxes and or debt, can dramatically improve聽
your cash flow and provide you with solutions.聽聽
[24]
One of the best sources to start the聽
process for obtaining extra cashflow聽聽
[29]
is for a W2 employee to correct their W4. The IRS聽
states that approximately 80% of taxpayers overpay聽聽
[38]
their taxes with an average refund of $3,000. This聽
W4 training will provide you with the education聽聽
[46]
to shift those tax dollars back into your pockets聽
which will create positive cashflow that can be聽聽
[53]
used to eliminate debt, invest, or improve your聽
lifestyle. The W4 Calculator helps you identify聽聽
[60]
your tax withholding to make sure you have the聽
right amount of tax withheld from your paycheck.聽聽
[66]
I'm going to share my screen. There are聽
several reasons to check your withholding.聽聽
[77]
One of them is to protect against having too聽
little tax withheld and facing an unexpected聽聽
[83]
tax bill or penalty at tax time next year.聽
Average refund $3,000 you may prefer to have聽聽
[92]
less tax withheld up front and receive more聽
in your paycheck which is what we recommend.聽聽
[100]
Disclaimer We do not guarantee you will receive聽
an increase in your check by adjusting your W4聽聽
[108]
form. Results will vary based on each聽
individuals unique financial situation.聽聽
[116]
I have an example family that聽
I will call the Johnson Family.聽聽
[122]
Don't worry if your results are not the same,聽
just enter what you have. The Johnson family is聽聽
[131]
filing married jointly. They have a household聽
income of $105,000 and they have 2 dependents聽聽
[139]

[364]
a significant impact to your tax obligation.聽

[373]

[378]

itemized deductions so the Johnsons will take the聽聽
[420]
standard deduction and click Next. Section 5: Tax聽
Credits. The Johnsons Qualify for tax credits for聽聽
[429]
their dependents. Tax credits subtract聽
directly from the tax obligation.聽聽
[435]

Johnsons have 2 children under the age of 17.聽聽
[442]

over pay $2895. That Equates to about $241.25聽聽
[490]
per month that they are overpaying in聽
taxes if they do not update their W4.聽聽
[497]
The Johnsons learn about the advantages of聽
investing and owning a home-based business.聽聽
[503]
They decide to invest $2895 into their 401k. So,聽聽
[509]
the Johnsons go and click on the tab income and聽
withholdings link and select Yes. Then they enter聽聽
[519]
the amount that they're going to聽
contribute to their 401k, $2895.聽聽

tab. The Johnsons learn about the advantages聽聽
[542]
about having a home-based business and decide to聽
get started in a home-based business. They go over聽聽
[549]
to the adjustments to income link. The Johnsons聽
estimate they will have $5000 in Schedule C聽聽
[556]
Business Loss. Note: that withholding estimator聽
does not show the full list of adjustments聽聽
[564]
to the income which includes Schedule C Loss. This聽
is why the Johnsons entered $5000 in the Certain聽聽
[571]
business credits for reservists, performing聽
artists, and fee-based government officials box.聽聽
[579]
The Johnsons click on the results tab聽
after making the change to their 401k聽聽
[584]
contribution and adjustments to income聽
to see what changes occurred, if any.聽聽
[589]

home-based business, the Johnsons now have a聽聽
[595]
tax obligation of $3045. The Johnsons picked聽
up an extra $948 by making these 2 changes.聽聽
[607]
Because the Johnsons learned how to income聽
shift with two simple strategies they聽聽
[613]
improved their finances in three ways. The聽
Johnsons redirected their tax overpayment聽聽
[618]
into their 401k. The Johnsons employers matched聽
the 401k dollar for dollar and investing in聽聽
[626]
their 401k and starting a business lowered聽
their taxes by $948! I hope you found this聽聽
[636]
information helpful and if you have any questions,聽
message me for more information. Have a great day!
