A high GMAT score is the single most critical component
of your MBA application. The decision tracker
[7]
on GMAT Club shows that applicants who scored
760 and above are approx. 4x more likely
[14]
to be admitted to top business schools compared
to applicants who scored less than 700.
[20]
And that's not all! A 740 scorer,
on an average, wins a scholarship of a whopping
[26]
$40,000! So, scoring high on the GMAT
not only increases your chances of getting
[32]
an admit from a top business school but
also paves a way to win a substantial scholarship.

and Career transformations. Without any
further ado, let's get to the 5-steps .
[67]
The first step is planning. To plan
efficiently for your GMAT , you need to
[71]
know three things -
1. What is GMAT about
[75]
2. What are your strength and weaknesses?
3. How much time and effort you need to reach 700+
[84]
Thousands of GMAT test-takers fail to prepare the right
way because they don't fundamentally understand how
[89]
the GMAT works. It is critical to understand ,
what is GMAT, its different sections, what
[97]
does it tests, how is it scored, and much
more.
[101]
You can watch our video where we cover everything
you need to know about the test. Just
[105]
click on the top right corner. Once
you understand what the GMAT is about ,
[111]
you need to analyze your strengths and
weaknesses. Are you better at Quant or
[115]
Verbal? Moreover, out of 5 sub-sections,
which ones are you good at and where do
[121]
you lack? To know this you can either
take the GMAT test and get your Enhanced
[126]
Score Report. All of which will cost you approx. $300
or you can take a free Sigma-X mock that
[136]
provides in-depth insights about your strengths and
weaknesses. Once you know what your weaknesses
[142]
are, you can then focus your time and effort on
strengthening those areas. But how
[146]
do you know how much time and effort to
put in? For that you should have a
[151]
comprehensive study plan. Make sure that
your study plan answers these three questions:
[156]
1. How will you reach your target GMAT score?
2. How much time you need to put in?
[161]
3. And where do you need to put in this time?
Take a look at our video on How to create
[166]
a GMAT Study plan. Just click on the top right
corner . Once you are done with the planning
[171]
stage, the next step is to learn concepts
and how to apply those concepts. 700+ scorers
[177]
always credit their success to strong conceptual
foundations. Without a strong grasp on
[184]
concepts, test-takers often select a
wrong choice, spend too much time
[189]
solving a question or are forced to just skip
the question. Moving on to Step 3. Around 80% of
[198]
your success on the GMAT depends on practicing
the right kind of questions. Once you
[204]
are done building a solid foundation and applying
those concepts on easy questions, it is important
[210]
to test those skills by practicing Medium-and-Hard-level
GMAT-like questions. You also want to keep
[216]
an eye on the timer and ensure you are
not taking more than 2-minutes to solve
[221]
each question. Remember, GMAT is a timed, adaptive
test, so to get a 700+ score, you need
[229]
to solve Medium-and-Hard-level questions correctly
within the allotted time. Once you have
[235]
practised GMAT-like questions and improved
upon your timing, you simulate exam-conditions
[240]
by taking mock tests. Please take an Official
GMAT mock test or a Sigma-X mock test
[247]
as the scoring on these tests is the most
representative of the scoring on the actual GMAT.
[253]
After taking the mock test, analyse your performance by identifying
your weak areas and assessing any timing
[260]
issues. The idea is to take this feedback,
spend time working on it, and then take another
[266]
mock test to confirm that you have fixed the
issues. At last, the final step to
[273]
score 700+ on the GMAT . Many students do
well on the mock tests
[276]
Many students do well on the mock tests but
on test day, they struggle to keep their
[282]
composure and so fail to achieve their
target GMAT score. It is important to learn
[289]
and practice test-day strategies to ensure
that you can deal with all that the GMAT
[294]
can throw at you. We cover these test-day
strategies to help overcome performance issues. You

can access this by clicking on the top right
