Today’s video is for those newbies or freelancer who accidently accept a project

As a freelancer accepts a project, a service charges from freelancer.com apply on that particular project and freelancer.com charged 10% from freelancer and 3% from client.

As they are new and not familiar with the terms and conditions of this platform.

Some times project might be a healthy one and from client’s end, maybe he is also a new user and not sure how to use this platform for projects or might be a scammer.

It would be any case between the two, described above.

As client does not make any milestone, freelancer has been charged from this platform 10%, which is taken as an upfront from freelancer.

For example, if the project’s worth is $100 then freelancer would be charged $10 as an upfront or service charge by this platform.

Similarly, Client also bears some service charges but its too low compared with freelancer.

So due to not making milestone you would get nothing even if in case you deliver the work to client.

So, in current case a friend has accepted a project accidently.

Now my job is tackling the issue and get the service charges back to freelancer.

So, this video is all about that issues, don’t miss it and watch till end.

In case when accept a project accidently, its all about solving that problem.

So, this the window of Projects and Contest of freelancer’s profile and you can see the active project.

You can also call this page by clicking on My Projects from top menu.

As you click on My Projects a list would be open where you can see active bids, current projects and Past work. You can also check Active contests, prizes won/Contests Won and Past Contests.

In current case this is the active project and fortunately, its hourly project. As you can check it from awarded bids column.

So, right now we need to check the project from project window, lets click on project and see what client has provided in this project.

Has client made milestone or he has verified payment method? We need to verify these things from that window. Ok this was the client and he is also Indian and as you can see there is nothing related to payment, no milestone and no weekly limit allowed.

Neither he made milestone notr allowed weekly limit.

So, its clear that he is not verified client, if he is not verified, maybe he is also a newbie and was in search of job hunting.

So, the bad news is freelancer has accidently accepted the project but the good news is the project is hourly based and when you work and client release the amount on hourly basis then this platform charges in hourly projects.

The result of this project is in front of you, you can see from profile that there is no deduction from freelancer.

So, there was already no money in his account, so you can see nothing has been charged by this platform.

Let us assume if it was a fixed project? Then freelancer would definitely be charged 10% on accepting the project accidently. In case if the project’s cost was $30, you would be charged $5 and, on your profile, there would be -$5 amount, which means you need to pay $5 to this platform as an upfront. If we need to get rid from this fake project, to avoid your profile down.

All you need to go to your profile and there you would see “Get Support”.

Click on it and you would be directed to help desk window.

Scroll down and you would see “My Ticket History”.

Click on it.

Here you need to ask them about the issue on the project and let me tell you one thing about current project, that there would be a minor charge deducted from this freelancer although minor one.

So, this is the place where you need to file a ticket about current issue. Let me open a new window and open Freelancer dashboard or the project window.

Right now, there is not ticket here,

Just click here to open a new ticket URL, a ticket section would be open where you need put your query.

“As I was newbie and was not familiar with TOR’s of this platform, so I want to get rid from this project, so my profile would not be affected.

Here you need to fill subject and then type your message on message window.

Let’s see what we have in departments? So, nothing related to our query, I’m going to use general

Type Subject and put a message there on message box.

After putting all info, let me open the new tab where I already have opened freelancer dashboard.

There I would again visit the project window. I can take a screen shot as well for ticket. So that the help desk may understand the project query easily.

On your dashboard you can see “Recent Projects” where our current project is placed., click on it. You can also call it from “My Projects”.

It took very less time, if we don’t use Anydesk, which slow down internet speed, else it took only 5 minutes to file a ticket.

Let me copy Project ID and paste it on ticket message box for Help Desk’s ease to understand the project.

Now click on Submit button.

That’s all ticket has been generated and it would take some time to get a reply from freelancer help desk on this issue.

There would probably be a return message where it would be mentioned that it is not our policy to pat back the service charges,

but you need to request again and ask them to give you one chance as you were new and unfamiliar with the platform.

So kindly avoid and i would not repeat this mistake again.

and payback my money which you deducted as a service charges.

So, using this method you can get your service charges back from platform.

You can also use this help desk for any other issue you are facing by creating ticket or asking live chat help.

So, as i already disclose that in hourly project accidently acceptence would not harm you.

But if that was a fixed project then you need to panic and a healthy amount may deduct from your account.
