What Is Better Than A 457 Plan? - YouTube
Channel: unknown
[0]
457 plans are okay. In this episode,
I'm going to address the question. What is聽聽
[7]
better than a 457 plan? Get ready, you're聽
going to be blown away how you can have聽聽
[14]
the benefits of a 457 and a whole lot聽
more without all the strings attached.
[29]
So, my name's Doug Andrew and I've been a financial聽
strategist and a retirement planning specialist聽聽
[36]
for more than 47 years and so I've helped many聽
many people plan for a comfortable retirement聽聽
[41]
by optimizing their assets minimizing taxes and聽
empowering what I call their authentic wealth.聽
[48]
So, I notice that most Americans I think聽
are duped into putting money for their聽聽
[54]
future retirement into traditional accounts like聽
IRAs 401ks 403bs 457s and the like. Now, these聽聽
[63]
are all government-sponsored type of savings聽
plans and I've never liked Uncle Sam being my聽聽
[70]
partner. Because Uncle sam has certain rules and聽
they want their piece of it they want to tax that.聽聽
[78]
So, let's just go through a simple explanation聽
of 457s and then I want to share with you what聽聽
[84]
I think is far better because you can have all聽
the benefits of a 457 and a whole bunch more聽聽
[90]
without all the strings attached that I'm going聽
to talk about next. So, a 457 is technically not a聽聽
[96]
qualified plan it's called a non-qualified plan聽
but it's still regulated under the government聽聽
[102]
rules that are assessed there and 457 plans聽
are like a 401k. But it's usually offered to聽聽
[110]
certain public servants most of them are聽
government 457s there are some non-government聽聽
[116]
457s. But if you are a firefighter, a police聽
officer, or a school teacher, or maybe you are聽聽
[125]
working for a hospital that's non-profit that's an聽
academic hospital or whatever they may offer a 457聽聽
[131]
plan. Some of the advantages are you can actually聽
contribute to a 457 up to the limit each year and聽聽
[138]
the limit by the way as of the recording of this聽
episode is about 19,500 you can do catch up. If聽聽
[144]
you're over age 50 you can put in an extra 6,500.
At the last three years before you retire you can聽聽
[151]
put in double the amount that you could put in聽
normally. So, you can put in a lot of money into聽聽
[157]
it's a deferred compensation plan. So it's not聽
really your money until you receive it. It belongs聽聽
[162]
to your employer which may help you if you get聽
sued because the 457 monies that haven't been聽聽
[169]
paid to you are not subject to the claims of your聽
creditors. But it means if the employer got into聽聽
[175]
trouble their creditors could grab that money but聽
it's probably unlikely a government would get into聽聽
[180]
trouble or is it? I don't like to trust my money聽
with the government but that's me personally. Now,聽聽
[186]
the beauty of a 457 plan to most people is you can聽
put money into it on top of these other plans and聽聽
[193]
if you leave your employer you can access the聽
money without a 10% penalty even under the age聽聽
[200]
of 59 and a half. You can't do that with a 403b聽
or a 401k. So, what are the advantages at 457?聽聽
[209]
I can put in up to the allowable amount. I can play聽
catch-up and then when I go to access the money聽聽
[215]
I can do it without a 10 penalty as long as i聽
leave the employer. Well, often I ask this question.聽聽
[221]
What if the rules for a 457 plan allowed you to聽
put in whatever you want? There was no limit. If you聽聽
[231]
wanted to put in 30,000, 50,000,
100,000 you could. You don't have to.聽
[235]
If you could put in 100,000 you only put聽
in thirty thousand you could play catch up with聽聽
[239]
the other 70,000 anytime you want in the聽
future and in a year you didn't put in the maximum聽聽
[244]
amount you can add all that up and throw it in one聽
fell swoop somewhere down the road if you had a聽聽
[248]
windfall and what if you could take out the money聽
without leaving your employer in your 30s, 40s,聽聽
[254]
50s, and there's no 10 percent penalty. You don't聽
have to wait to leave your employer to access it聽聽
[258]
and it's tax-free when you access it. So it's聽
like a Roth 457. Yes, there are Roth 457 plans.聽聽
[266]
So, what is this? Now, before I go any further.聽
If this is intriguing you I would recommend聽聽
[272]
you share this video with somebody who maybe is a聽
firefighter a police officer a teacher that has a聽聽
[279]
457 plan or they're wondering should I participate聽
or contribute to a 457 deferred compensation plan.聽聽
[287]
Well, I'm going to show you something that I think聽
is far better with way more flexibility than a 457聽聽
[293]
plan. So, what I was asking is what if you聽
had a 457 plan where you could put in聽聽
[300]
as much as you wanted. You designed it聽
to accommodate even 100,000
[304]
300,000 a year you don't have to聽
put that much in. But if you don't put in that聽聽
[307]
much you can make up the difference聽
you can play catch up whenever you want.聽
[311]
Sort of the advantage of a 457 plan but you can聽
access your money without leaving your employer聽聽
[316]
and there's no 10% penalty and it's totally tax聽
free so it's like a Roth. People say, "Well, what聽
[321]
is this?", well it doesn't have the strings聽
attached is what I'm talking about.聽聽
[325]
Share this video with somebody you know that would聽
like to learn this and by the way click on here聽聽
[330]
and subscribe and click the bell so that you'll聽
be notified every time I post a new video. Because聽聽
[336]
I post an in-depth answer to a financial question聽
almost on a daily basis on this channel. But stay聽聽
[341]
with me to the end, I want to gift you a copy of聽
my most recent 300-page best-selling book. So,聽聽
[348]
let me talk about this incredible dream solution聽
plan that you ought to have instead of a 457. This聽聽
[356]
is an instrument that I have used since 1980 it's聽
like a sacred tax-free cash cow in the internal聽聽
[364]
revenue code it's called an MFTA maximum funded聽
tax advantaged indexed universal life insurance聽聽
[373]
contract. Now, before you go, "What? I've never heard聽
of this. I've never seen one that grows very well."聽
[378]
Well, then, you haven't seen the thousands of ones聽
that our clients own where they earn average聽聽
[385]
rates of return between seven to ten percent net聽
cash on cash tax-free for the last 30, 35, 40, years.聽聽
[392]
The last few years we've had many many clients who聽
have locked in gains of 16%, 25%, 30%, 61.33% how? This is聽聽
[404]
a beautiful dream solution like a swiss army knife聽
that you can use for all kinds of financial goals聽聽
[411]
and it is the best solution I feel for retirement聽
savings. Because it allows you to accumulate your聽聽
[419]
money totally tax free that has been grandfathered聽
in the internal revenue code for over 107 years聽聽
[426]
section 72(e). Section 7702 of the internal revenue聽
code allows you to access your money totally tax聽聽
[433]
free. This would be just like a Roth you pay tax聽
on your contributions but it accumulates tax-free聽聽
[439]
and you can access the money tax-free. Those are聽
the two benefits of a Roth. But this has four聽聽
[445]
additional benefits the Roths will never have.聽
I can put in 100,000, 300,000.聽聽
[452]
You're limited on how much you can聽
contribute to a traditional 457 or a Roth聽聽
[458]
type of a 457. With the laser fund that's what I
call it laser is an acronym that stands for liquid聽聽
[464]
asset safely earning returns. I can contribute
in a banner a year 300,000 if I want if I design聽聽
[471]
it to accommodate it. I don't have to put in that聽
much I could put in one-tenth that 30,000.
[476]
But I can play catch up with all of the difference聽
anywhere down the road. You can play catch up with a聽聽
[483]
457 but there's limits. But the neat thing about聽
it is if I want to access money anytime for any聽聽
[490]
reason I don't have to prove a hardship people say,聽
"Well, I can access money out of a 457 plan if I'm聽聽
[496]
really sick or disabled or I have a death in the聽
family or whatever", if you have a hardship type of聽聽
[501]
provision you don't need to prove that to access聽
money out of a laser fund. You can access money聽聽
[507]
I've had people put in 200,000 and four days聽
later access 160,000 of it. There's no IRS penalty.
[515]
You can take the money out it's tax-free I've聽
had people retire at age 35, 40, 55, they can access聽聽
[522]
the money or they can just let it sit there and聽
compound tax deferred until they go to retire take聽聽
[527]
out the money and it's totally tax-free. There's聽
none of these strings attached like wait until age聽聽
[533]
59 and a half or until you leave your employer.
At the end of the day, none of us are getting out of聽聽
[538]
here alive we're gonna all die someday. The聽
laser fund blossoms let me explain that. I'm 69, 聽聽
[546]
if I died next week in an accident every million I聽
would have in my portfolio of laser funds would聽聽
[552]
blossom to about two and a half million and聽
transfer totally income tax-free to my wife,聽聽
[558]
my kids, my grandkids, a church, a charity. There's聽
not a 401k 403b or 457 around that will do that聽聽
[566]
and people say well how much does that cost?
Well, nothing's free but it doesn't cost me anything.聽聽
[571]
It's being paid for with a minuscule portion of聽
money that most people shell out in unnecessary聽聽
[576]
income tax on traditional 457s 403bs and 401ks.聽
Do you want to learn more about this amazing聽聽
[584]
instrument what I call the dream solution.聽
Not only for retirement for many financial聽聽
[590]
goals and where I have averaged 11.17 percent聽
return for the last 30 years netting over 10%聽聽
[599]
cash on cash. You ready? So I've been calling this聽
the laser fund. In fact, I wrote a book about it and聽聽
[606]
I've been sending out between 250 to 750 of these聽
a week. I want you to claim your free copy this is聽聽
[614]
300 pages. It's actually two books in one and it's聽
titled the laser fund. Now, laser is an acronym that聽聽
[621]
stands for liquid asset safely earning returns.聽
The subtitle is how to diversify and create the聽聽
[628]
foundation for a tax-free retirement and so these聽
are the four pillars here liquidity safety rate聽聽
[634]
of return and tax benefits. These knock the聽
socks off of traditional 401ks 457s 403bs聽聽
[642]
or even the Roths. I have a little disclosure to聽
make here I've never owned an IRA 401k I never聽聽
[648]
will. I've never owned a Roth IRA 401k 403b or 457.聽
I haven't qualified for those ever. But if I would聽聽
[655]
have qualified I would not have participated. Why聽
would I do that when I can have all the benefits聽聽
[660]
of a 457 and a whole bunch more by putting money聽
into a laser fund and as I indicated this is where聽聽
[667]
I've been able to accumulate my money at rates of聽
return conservatively between seven to ten percent聽聽
[672]
net cash on cash. Every million dollars saved聽
in a laser fund can predictably generate聽聽
[678]
usually 80,000 up to 100,000
a year. An 8 to a10% payout without聽聽
[685]
depleting principal as long as you live if you聽
live to be 120. You ever seen a 457 that can do聽聽
[692]
that? So, I want you to claim your free copy of聽
this book. Now, it's two books in one. This side聽聽
[698]
the white side is 200 pages 14 chapters with all聽
the charts and graphs and explanations and you'll聽聽
[704]
understand why this is better. If you learn more聽
by stories and examples, you flip the book over聽聽
[708]
this is 100 pages 12 chapters with 62 chicken聽
soup for the financial soul stories in there聽聽
[714]
of how this is used for all kinds of financial聽
goals especially retirement. So you can read the聽聽
[720]
stories in here. If you want to use both your right聽
brain and left brain you can read both books okay.聽聽
[725]
So here's how you claim your free copy. If you聽
will go to laserfund.com click on the link below聽聽
[732]
contribute a nominal amount towards the shipping聽
and handling. I'll cover the rest of that cost.
[736]
I'll聽fire out a free copy to you of this 300 page聽
book and there's options there if you like to聽聽
[741]
listen and learn watch and learn and also you聽
can attend some of our educational webinars.聽聽
[747]
But I recommend you subscribe to this channel聽
because I post in-depth answers to financial聽聽
[752]
questions almost on a daily basis and it's聽
free. So make sure you claim your free copy of聽聽
[757]
the laser fund and you'll understand why this聽
is far superior to a 457 plan in my opinion.
