[0]
Big Rob from CelebHeights with a little detour
[3]
away from the topic of Height and onto
[5]
monthly expenses
[7]
How much do I spend in a month? On What?
[9]
and just how much does it cost to run CelebHeights.com
[13]
Now we live in Scotland
[15]
just outside Glasgow
[16]
so the cost of living isn't quite as comparable
[19]
as somewhere like London
[21]
I work full-time on the site
[23]
Jenny, she's a crafter. Her income?
[25]
is part-time
[27]
so we're essentially living on 1 single wage
[30]
In this video, I'm gonna breakdown
[32]
our regular monthly outgoings
[36]
We all need utilities like Gas and Electricity
[39]
and Jenny and myself, we both work from home
[41]
I have my PC on from 6am to 6pm
[45]
or 10pm or even midnight
[47]
Jenny works in the craft room upstairs
[49]
downstairs in the living room. In the kichen on the PC
[52]
has equipment running. Watches the TV.
She even blow dries her hair
[56]
and that's why it costs us Forty Seven pound
a month in electricity
[61]
But what about gas?
[63]
Well the central heating's on from October to March
[65]
and I even let Jenny have a daily bath
[67]
we pay Thirty Two pounds a month on average
[70]
we also have insurance for the boiler
[73]
the radiators, pipes and drains
[75]
that's Thirty Five pounds a month
[77]
compared to Home Insurance
[79]
that's only Nine pounds a month
[82]
Another essential outgoing is Council Tax
[85]
We cannae avoid it
[86]
this includes Water and Sewage costs
[88]
the bigger your home, the more you'll pay
[91]
and we live in a band D home
[93]
That's a Hundred and Thirty Seven quid a month
on Cooncil Tax
[97]
Everyone needs a place to stay, so unless your living with
your parents or in the basement
[102]
you're bound to be paying rent or mortgage
[104]
now by age 40, I'd absolutely kicked that
mortgage to the kerb
[108]
cleared it to Zero
[111]
Everyone's got a mobile phone
[113]
Well except for Jenny
[114]
She's gone Ten whole years without one
[116]
When she leaves the house
[118]
I cannae get hold of her!
[119]
I have an IPhone SE
[121]
It's only 4 years old and see this video?
It's filmed on it
[125]
Not too bad eh?
[126]
My mobile costs 9 pound a month
[129]
So what about TV and Internet?
[131]
Well I'm no Virgin, but we do use them for
TV, landline and broadband
[137]
The cost? Sixty pounds a month.
[139]
What about Jeff Bezos retirement fund?
[142]
We give him Six pound Fifty a month for Amazon Prime
[146]
And what about the TV licence? Hold on
[150]
I thought I heard a Detector Van there!
[151]
We pay them Thirteen pounds a month
[153]
for the BBC TV licence
[156]
which funds, well-known celebrities
extravagant lifestyles
[161]
Everyone needs to eat and we're no different
[164]
But I just worked out
[165]
We spend Fifty Quid a week. Two Hundred Pounds
a month on food
[169]
No Booze. No cigarettes. We don't do takeaways
[173]
we don't eat out. But to be fair
[175]
we do drink a lot of Irn-Bru
[178]
As you may or may not know, I run CelebHeights.com
[181]
Best website ever!
[183]
The age of the site is now 16 years
[186]
The same as Big Iona
[187]
But the cost of running it
[189]
has actually fallen
[190]
the main expense is web hosting
[193]
that costs me about forty pounds
[195]
next big cost is geolocation software
[198]
that costs almost fifteen pounds
[200]
and then we have subscriptions to newspaper archives
[204]
and pro site IMDB
[206]
that costs nearly Twenty Pounds
[209]
in total, almost Seventy Four pounds a month
[213]
If you're self-employed like myself
[215]
Then you're bound to put aside money to pay for
taxes and national insurance
[220]
Last year, I paid Twenty Two pounds a month
[223]
in Insurance contributions and my Tax Bill?
[228]
But don't be too shocked by that figure
[230]
It simply means my income fell and my expenses increased
[235]
Trust Me
[236]
Ten years ago I was paying Ten times as much tax
[240]
as Donald Trump
[241]
So that's a list of my regular monthly outgoings
[245]
Of course it doesn't include stuff like household repairs
[248]
clothing or even sneakers
[250]
but in total
[251]
Six hundred and Forty Six pounds
[254]
yeah, we could shave a few pounds off here and there
[257]
but I'm absolutely delighted with that figure
[260]
because now it means I can increase my budget
[263]
for buying more sneakers
[265]
Hold on
[266]
You know when you do your monthly budgets
sometimes you forget that one expense
[270]
Now I don't drive a car, but I do have a photo licence for
CelebHeights.com
[275]
which costs me nearly Forty Two pounds a month
[278]
so the revised monthly outgoings
[280]
is Six Hundred and Eighty Seven pounds
[282]
But remember
[284]
This year is quite unique
[285]
We've not done any conventions
[287]
So One hundred and Sixteen pounds on CelebHeights isn't normal
[291]
for instance in 2019
[293]
My monthly expenses
[295]
were Five Hundred and Two pounds
