and just how much does it cost to run CelebHeights.com

Now we live in Scotland

just outside Glasgow

so the cost of living isn't quite as comparable

as somewhere like London

I work full-time on the site

Jenny, she's a crafter. Her income?

is part-time

so we're essentially living on 1 single wage

In this video, I'm gonna breakdown

our regular monthly outgoings

We all need utilities like Gas and Electricity

and Jenny and myself, we both work from home

I have my PC on from 6am to 6pm

or 10pm or even midnight

Jenny works in the craft room upstairs

downstairs in the living room. In the kichen on the PC

has equipment running. Watches the TV. She even blow dries her hair

and that's why it costs us Forty Seven pound a month in electricity

But what about gas?

Well the central heating's on from October to March

and I even let Jenny have a daily bath

we pay Thirty Two pounds a month on average

we also have insurance for the boiler

the radiators, pipes and drains

that's Thirty Five pounds a month

compared to Home Insurance

that's only Nine pounds a month

Another essential outgoing is Council Tax

We cannae avoid it

this includes Water and Sewage costs

the bigger your home, the more you'll pay

and we live in a band D home

That's a Hundred and Thirty Seven quid a month on Cooncil Tax

Everyone needs a place to stay, so unless your living with your parents or in the basement

you're bound to be paying rent or mortgage

now by age 40, I'd absolutely kicked that mortgage to the kerb

cleared it to Zero

Everyone's got a mobile phone

Well except for Jenny

She's gone Ten whole years without one

When she leaves the house

I cannae get hold of her!

I have an IPhone SE

It's only 4 years old and see this video? It's filmed on it

Not too bad eh?

My mobile costs 9 pound a month

So what about TV and Internet?

Well I'm no Virgin, but we do use them for TV, landline and broadband

The cost? Sixty pounds a month.

What about Jeff Bezos retirement fund?

We give him Six pound Fifty a month for Amazon Prime

And what about the TV licence? Hold on

I thought I heard a Detector Van there!

We pay them Thirteen pounds a month

for the BBC TV licence

which funds, well-known celebrities extravagant lifestyles

Everyone needs to eat and we're no different

But I just worked out

We spend Fifty Quid a week. Two Hundred Pounds a month on food

No Booze. No cigarettes. We don't do takeaways

we don't eat out. But to be fair

we do drink a lot of Irn-Bru

The age of the site is now 16 years

The same as Big Iona

But the cost of running it

has actually fallen

the main expense is web hosting

that costs me about forty pounds

next big cost is geolocation software

that costs almost fifteen pounds

and then we have subscriptions to newspaper archives

and pro site IMDB

that costs nearly Twenty Pounds

in total, almost Seventy Four pounds a month

If you're self-employed like myself

Then you're bound to put aside money to pay for taxes and national insurance

Last year, I paid Twenty Two pounds a month

in Insurance contributions and my Tax Bill?

But don't be too shocked by that figure

It simply means my income fell and my expenses increased

Trust Me

Ten years ago I was paying Ten times as much tax

as Donald Trump

So that's a list of my regular monthly outgoings

Of course it doesn't include stuff like household repairs

clothing or even sneakers

but in total

Six hundred and Forty Six pounds

yeah, we could shave a few pounds off here and there

but I'm absolutely delighted with that figure

because now it means I can increase my budget

for buying more sneakers

Hold on

You know when you do your monthly budgets sometimes you forget that one expense

Now I don't drive a car, but I do have a photo licence for CelebHeights.com

which costs me nearly Forty Two pounds a month

so the revised monthly outgoings

is Six Hundred and Eighty Seven pounds

But remember

This year is quite unique

We've not done any conventions

So One hundred and Sixteen pounds on CelebHeights isn't normal

for instance in 2019

My monthly expenses

were Five Hundred and Two pounds
