between the slow times and how to pick up聽 customers so let's get started think about it聽聽

one thing that i always got to remember聽 just because our home warranty company聽聽

customer today does not mean they're going to be聽 a home warranty customer forever when their stuff聽聽

breaks down in the future and they had a good聽 experience with me or my my technicians they're聽聽

going to come back to me you know people typically聽 are loyal to people that give them good service so聽聽

i'm going to treat every customer the same whether聽 they're retail customer a home warranty customer聽聽

it don't matter because i know i'm in it for the聽 long play the long play is to win that customer聽聽

for as long as i'm in business and that's how you聽 build values by building building customer bases聽聽

maintenance agreements and things like that and聽 that was that was how how when i decided after聽聽

being a business for five and a half years聽 to turn around and walk away and cash out聽聽

and i could actually sell something because聽 i had a customer base so you know whether聽聽

you're looking to stay in business 30 years聽 or you want to exit like i didn't cash out聽聽

always treat your customers聽 good no matter where they're at聽聽

because they'll come back to you okay guys i'm聽 going to talk about signing up for home warranty聽聽

companies a lot of guys maybe were confused聽 or you know weren't sure how to do that um聽聽

so i'm going to go kind of step by step here聽 give you some information real simple and easy聽聽

it's not as hard as you think if your business is聽 slow let's say you're a one-man shop like i was聽聽

um i'm going to recommend when you're not busy聽 doing the work out in the field generating revenue聽聽

you're back in your office building your business聽 because that's what it takes to be successful聽聽

so when there's not work in the聽 field there's work in the office

okay guys back to this home聽 warranty um so home warranty reviews聽聽

and depending on where you're at what聽 state you live in or do service work聽聽

what warranties are available or聽 warranty companies that service my state聽聽

and depending on where you're at will determine聽 who you sign up with so enough with that

okay next thing i'm going to show you is聽 okay so great we found them so the next聽聽

thing we're going to do is we're going聽 to either click on a link inside there

and i i'm going to choose american home聽 shield and i'll pull that up here real quick

want to bore you but i had to聽 kind of just navigate here um

but with american home shield you聽 just got to call this 800 number聽聽

and then you gotta you know fill out their vendor聽 package like we talked about in another video聽聽

and they have a number specifically for hvac聽 contractors you know if you're a plumber you聽聽

could do that one as well um pretty simple聽 a lot of benefits a lot of benefits to uh

you know being involved with聽 home warranty companies is it is聽聽

easy as just a regular retail聽 customer no do they pay yes um聽聽

you know they do a lot of they do a lot of聽 work and typically these customers are going聽聽

to call more often than a regular customer from聽 my experience could be different where you're at聽聽

but they're going to call when that furnace or聽 air conditioner makes the the slightest issue聽聽

and a lot of times they're looking for聽 a replacement from the home warranty聽聽

company which they may not qualify for聽 but you could try and um maybe get them to聽聽

take a buy out on their contract and sell them聽 one at retail or maybe even discount a little bit聽聽

now the reason i did home warranty work聽 because let's say it's like a wednesday聽聽

and i've got guys working for me or even聽 when i was just by myself and i didn't聽聽

have anything to do but i could go out there and聽 make 1200 bucks and put a furnace in for the day聽聽

and i didn't have anything else to聽 do guess what i'm doing putting in a聽聽

furnace because i'm going to make 1200 bucks on聽 a wednesday so that's that's my recommendation

on that one same thing 210 home buyers聽 i'm going to pull that one up right here

see what happens you just聽 fill it out and you submit it聽聽

um it's pretty simple that was a pretty good聽 company they paid pretty quickly um let's see here聽聽

landmark uh home warranty company they look like a聽 big one and i guess amazon's one as well i wasn't聽聽

familiar with them but if i lost my job today and聽 it was between not working i'm signing up and i'm聽聽

going to sign up with them all because i'm going聽 to go out there and win customers put stickers on聽聽

and i'm going to make some money now i know聽 guys up detroit they're doing over a million聽聽

plus a year in home warranty work they're killing聽 it you know the guys that are bitching about it i聽聽

mean yeah there's there's some leg work involved聽 on the billing part but if you get with the聽聽

good ones they're paying direct deposit a couple聽 days but you know you just go on there click the聽聽

what service you know just聽 directs you to your email

so i hope that really helps you um on what聽 to do with the home warranty it's not as聽聽

hard as you think you can make some money聽 on it if you like we're just a one-man shop聽聽

and you were signed up with like聽 three or four home warranty companies聽聽

you could do the math on it let's say you're gonna聽 be busy because you're going to upgrade some of聽聽

these people like hey i need to do maintenance聽 before we do the service repair otherwise they're聽聽

not going to cover it because it's not going to be聽 covered due to the lack of maintenance so you're聽聽

going to hit them for a tune-up right off the聽 bat you know whatever you charge 79 89 100 bucks聽聽

because they want they want whatever is wrong聽 with that furnace or this recovered heat pump so聽聽

you could realistically depending on the area聽 you live in the households and stuff like that聽聽

like in my area i could probably聽 sign up with three or four of these聽聽

and i was the number one provider for american聽 home shield when i was in business so i was聽聽

getting like an extra 800 service calls聽 a year and a lot of those people will buy聽聽

furnaces even if they're not covered by the聽 home warranty they'll buy complete systems聽聽

i would say realistically conservatively somewhere聽 between an extra 150 and 400 000 i think we're聽聽

doing about four or 450 right before i sold聽 my business but i was aggressive i did a lot聽聽

of retail work i didn't do any like property聽 management work wasn't very big in commercial聽聽

but like if you were a one-man shop you could聽 easily make let's let's let's do the math you聽聽

could make 150 if you focus primarily on this聽 and then pick up some word of mouth customers by聽聽

doing a real good job for these customers is it聽 the easiest work no but you know when you're in聽聽

business you got to buy customers and if they're聽 going to give you some free ones to practice on聽聽

take advantage of it doesn't cost you anything you聽 already got a license you already got insurance聽聽

let's get signed up with them let's make some聽 money that's what this is all about right so

the information on this home warranty that聽 i'm gonna share with you this isn't like make聽聽

believe land this is what i actually did uh when聽 i was in business and i was just starting out so聽聽

is it frustrating sometimes trying to figure all聽 this stuff out i mean you could be the best tech聽聽

best installer some of the some of the times this聽 office work and this accounting and licensing聽聽

that's just harder for me to figure out than聽 fixing a furnace that's the easy part so聽聽

stick with it this isn't make believe聽 this is something i actually did聽聽

when i was trying to grow my business from聽 nothing to something before i sold it so聽聽

um you know this is this is the real world聽 this isn't you know just a good idea this聽聽

is something that i actually did so i hope聽 you get some benefits out of it and i hope聽聽

when i was a business named games get more聽 customers so if you i appreciate you guys聽聽

i'm not you know i just seen something on youtube聽 today where a guy is hypothetically going to like聽聽

start back in business and do a series on it and聽 you know i don't know where that's at wonderland聽聽

or something because last time i checked anybody聽 that was in business if you were like me i was聽聽

kind of nervous and i had to produce i had to聽 make money i had bills to pay miles to feed聽聽

i didn't i couldn't just kind of do it聽 as a hobby so i'm out there i talked to聽聽

john from lockport he just opened his business聽 two weeks was laid off from another contractor聽聽

and i mentioned the same technique to him and uh聽 it's free customers guys this is the best work聽聽

though but until you're that established聽 30-year contractor that's got you know聽聽

thousands and thousands of maintenance聽 agreements where customers are聽聽

on their second and third change out聽 from you it's how you get started because聽聽

mo most guys are lazy in business um that i've聽 i've ran across that they think they're too proud聽聽

to do this customer wanted me to sweep the floor聽 i'm sweeping the floor i don't care i'm not i'm聽聽

not above doing about just about anything for a聽 customer so you know put the ego to the side i聽聽

mean would you rather be rich or you'd rather be聽 right you know this is some work you're going to聽聽

put in long hours figuring out their systems and聽 how to invoice them but they're free customers uh聽聽

the alternative is you could do like i was doing聽 towards the end when i sold my business to spend聽聽

sixty thousand dollars a year and have the phone聽 ringing but then even then when you spend the 60聽聽

000 sometimes the phone stops ringing what do you聽 do you know home warranty work so this is just聽聽

another avenue i appreciate all the feedback聽 and the phone calls i've received recently聽聽
