Hello and welcome in today's video we are going to talk about very important frequently
[5]
asked questions about the PMP exam we are going to talk stuff like
[9]
what is the cost of appearing for the PMP exam what is the
[13]
passing score of the PMP exam how much time does it take to
[16]
prepare for the PMP exam you do not want to miss out on
[19]
any of these critical pieces of information watch this video till the end
[28]
Hi I am Ray and I'm a PMP certified project manager that tips trends strategies
[33]
that I share in this channel are exactly the same ones which were used by
[37]
me to pass by PMP exam in the first attempt so before we
[41]
move ahead make sure you like share and subscribe to my channel because I bring
[46]
to you the most updated and relevant content for the PMP exam which
[50]
is guaranteed to make your PMP preparation fast and efficient
[58]
so FAQ number one how much is the cost of PMP certification
[62]
the cost of PMP certification as of february twenty twenty is four hundred
[67]
five US dollars if you are a PMI member and if you're not a
[71]
PMI member the cost is five hundred and fifty five U S dollars now i
[76]
will always suggest that you become a member of PMI guys because you will get
[80]
a lot of benefits like the free PM UK sixth edition and the agile practice
[85]
guide
[85]
there will be a lot of freeways which you can earn PD use after you
[89]
complete your PMP certification PMI runs very nice webinars which you can attend
[94]
to master the skills of project management and you can also join the local chapters
[98]
and events now if you want to access all these benefits the cost of PMI
[102]
membership is one hundred thirty nine U S dollars considering that there is an application
[106]
fee of ten US dollars but still you will be at advantageous position if
[111]
you become a PMI member and then go ahead and take the PMP
[115]
exam
[115]
because the total cost which will be incurring is five hundred forty four US dollars
[120]
which is still less by eleven US dollars than the cost of five
[125]
hundred and fifty five US dollars which you have to pay if you book
[128]
the PMP exam as a non PMI member so question number two what
[132]
is the passing score of the PMP exam so we will answer this
[135]
question with the disclaimer first that PMI never discloses the pass rate of PMP
[140]
exam so you will see no document which actually talks about the pass rate
[145]
of the PMP exam
[146]
now having said that experts have analyzed that the past rate of PMP
[151]
exam lies somewhere between sixty to seventy percent again it is a guesstimate there is
[157]
no valid proof of these things but according to the experts whatever they have analyzed
[162]
over the past PMP exams the pass rate stands somewhere between sixty to
[167]
seventy percent now you need to remember a couple of things here guys firstly the
[172]
PMP exam is psychometric in nature now what that means is not
[177]
all the questions carry equal weightage so there may be a difficult question with higher
[182]
weightage of marks versus easier question with a lower weightage of marks and that's how
[188]
the marks is calculated and that is how the PMP exam also continually
[193]
evaluates your aptitude as a project manager and the PMP exam being psychometric
[199]
is one of the primary reasons why the exam is so difficult moving on the
[205]
PMP exam has two hundred questions
[207]
in total and out of that one seventy five questions are scored questions and twenty five
[213]
questions are non scored questions or test questions which considers some new areas or
[219]
new topics which PMI is exploring with that the passing score is calculated basis your
[225]
response on this one seventy five questions now as I said not all the questions
[230]
carry equal weightage so do not think that if you have around one six or
[235]
one ten questions out of this one seventy five
[238]
questions correct you will pass the exam it is not that because the reason why
[242]
I said is not all the questions carry equal weightage of marks now the final
[247]
thing PMI only reveals proficiency level as per the domain areas so there are four
[252]
proficiency levels which you will see in your PMP mark sheet which starts
[256]
from above target target below target and needs improvement now above target and target is
[262]
considered pass below target and needs improvement is considered as failure now
[268]
if you fail the PMP exam your overall proficiency level in the PMP
[271]
mark sheet will be below target or needs improvement now the good thing
[276]
is the PMP exam does not have any sectional cut offs so even
[281]
if you score below target or needs improvement in any one of the areas for
[287]
example the closing area or the execution area or the planning area and you flare
[292]
pretty well in the other domains such as initiation monitoring and controlling you can still
[298]
pass the
[298]
exam because your overall proficiency level will somewhere lie between target and above target now
[304]
the final recommendation from my side will be guys do not bog yourself down with
[309]
the passing rate of PMP exam but focus more on your preparation on
[313]
your theory on your practical questions try to write as many mocks as possible and
[318]
try to analyze those mocks thoroughly so focus on your preparation rather than bogging yourself down
[323]
on the passing score because as we have discussed there is no definitive
[328]
answer of what the passing score of PMP exam is because at the
[332]
end of the day PMI does not disclose that question number three how much time
[336]
does it take for the PMP exam preparation assuming that you are studying
[341]
around two to three hours per day on weekdays and five to six hours per
[345]
day on weekends the average time which will be required for your PMP
[349]
preparation will lie somewhere between eight to twelve weeks that is two months to three
[354]
months now the assumption here is very critical guys these two to three hours per
[358]
day
[358]
or five to six hours per day should be dedicated to your preparation without any
[363]
distractions like facebook or whatsapp OK so you need to dedicate your full time in
[368]
the preparation you have to be a hundred percent committed for achieving your PMP certification
[374]
and that is when you will be able to complete the preparation between eight to
[378]
twelve weeks now the PMP exam is tough so a sound theoretical and
[383]
practical knowledge is a must what i mean by that is the PMP
[387]
exam will test you with a lot of tricky questions
[389]
which will require a very strong understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of the
[394]
PMP OK to answer those questions correctly so if you don't have it even
[399]
if you prepare a lot for the PMP exam you will struggle with
[403]
those kind of questions moreover the preparation depends on five key building blocks to maximize
[409]
your impact now you will see a card right on the screen which will direct
[413]
you to my video in the same channel where I discuss about these five key
[417]
building blocks which are absolutely
[419]
essential to maximize your impact in your paint preparation so make sure you watch that
[424]
video of mine right after this video so take away from this question it lies
[429]
somewhere between eight to twelve weeks but your preparation should be very smart and you
[433]
should be a hundred percent committed during your preparation time to complete your preparation in
[438]
the mentioned time frame
