Top 5 Trading Platform "Must Haves" (Day Trading For Beginners) - YouTube
Channel: ClayTrader
[0]
hey it's clay at clay charter common in
[2]
this video I want to show you the top 5
[4]
trading platform must-haves that I
[6]
believe your online broker should give
[8]
you the ability to implement within your
[11]
trading strategy and this is whether
[12]
you're day trading or swing trading
[14]
stocks you know or anything
[15]
your broker needs to give you certain
[17]
tools certain abilities and in this
[19]
video like I said I want to go over the
[21]
top 5 that I believe you should
[23]
definitely have the the ability to like
[26]
you said implement so your platform
[27]
needs to be able to provide these to you
[29]
right off the get-go I also want to know
[30]
cuz like I know a bunch of people gonna
[32]
ask so I'm gonna address it right away
[33]
clay what platform did you use in this
[35]
video I am using weebles platform here
[37]
if you're interested and just saving the
[39]
time so that you don't have to go
[41]
research a bunch of other platforms and
[42]
see if they you know include the top 5
[44]
list that I'm gonna go through here and
[45]
you just want to like set use weeble
[47]
because you know that everything that
[48]
I'm talking about is actually and
[50]
already included then there's a link
[52]
down below it's on the description box
[54]
on YouTube or if you're watching this at
[56]
my site just write down below the video
[57]
and I would definitely say use that link
[59]
because now that is an affiliate link
[61]
for you know transparency sake but it's
[63]
a nice little win-win if you use that
[65]
link you get a couple of free stocks I'm
[67]
so like I said nice way to to put some
[70]
free stocks in your portfolio especially
[72]
if you like this platform which like you
[74]
said you'll know at least it'll give you
[75]
the ability to save time so you don't
[77]
have to go try a bunch of other things
[78]
as far as platforms are concerned but
[80]
first thing that your platform needs to
[82]
have is the ability to use candlesticks
[86]
so what we're seeing right here is what
[88]
is known as a line chart and line charts
[90]
I'm not gonna call them totally
[92]
worthless but there are better choices
[94]
out there as far as you know tools that
[95]
you should be using as a trader in fact
[97]
I'll put a video down below that goes
[99]
over why I use candlesticks and you know
[101]
goes down you know deeper down the
[103]
rabbit hole about why I believe that you
[105]
as a trader and again whether you're a
[106]
day trader or swing trader should be
[108]
using candlesticks within your analysis
[111]
so the number one thing that your
[112]
platform needs to provide and give you
[113]
the ability to do is use candlesticks so
[116]
as far as weeble is concerned you just
[118]
come over here to line style click
[120]
candle and there you are
[122]
we now have candlesticks the number two
[124]
thing your online platform needs to give
[127]
you the ability at is multiple time
[130]
frame so what do I mean by that we'll
[131]
give you a quick little lesson you
[133]
one of these candlesticks as we've now
[135]
determined represents a certain amount
[137]
of time and in this situation currently
[139]
because I have a pair 5m selected that
[143]
means five-minute that means each one of
[144]
these candlesticks shows us five minutes
[147]
worth of time again well what do each
[149]
one of those things mean again watch the
[151]
video watch the video that I've linked
[153]
down below it'll explain all that to you
[155]
as far as why I use candlesticks but for
[157]
the sake of this just understand that
[158]
each one of these has taken five minutes
[160]
to form now if I wanted to I could in
[163]
fact let's do this let me click over
[165]
here on 1m so now that the 1m is
[168]
selected that means one minute this
[170]
means that each one of these
[171]
candlesticks has only take in one minute
[173]
to form it's giving us 1 minutes worth
[175]
of action so in other words we are
[178]
getting multiple timeframes we're able
[180]
to look at I look at time frames as
[182]
angles right and the more angles you can
[184]
look at something the better idea you're
[186]
gonna have in regards to it the same is
[188]
true when forming a trade plan you want
[190]
to be able to look at a stock and as
[192]
many different angles as possible so
[194]
that you can make the best decision
[196]
possible and what is very nice about the
[199]
we ball platform is not only do they
[200]
give you again all these various time
[202]
frames but they also make it very
[204]
streamlined this to look at them all at
[206]
once so if you were to come up here and
[208]
do a grid and we'll just do four by four
[211]
so to do that and you click on it and
[214]
now you can see all of a sudden you have
[215]
a bunch of grid so in this situation
[217]
we're looking at Facebook so let me just
[219]
bring up Facebook for these other areas
[221]
here and then you'll see kind of how we
[223]
can look at Facebook from several
[225]
different angles so right up here
[229]
alright I have them all populated I
[231]
don't want to waste your time laughs in
[233]
here just getting them all in place but
[234]
so right now though they are all at one
[236]
minute so of course that's not telling
[238]
that's not helping us because
[239]
everything's just showing us the 1
[240]
minute time frame and I should note that
[242]
you can I mean adjust and make these
[243]
bigger but let's say over here we want
[244]
to look at the 5 minute time frame down
[246]
here let's look at 15m which means
[248]
what's happening every 15 minutes and
[250]
then right here we'll just click on 30 M
[252]
which means what's happening every 30
[253]
minutes so here we are looking at
[255]
Facebook from currently four different
[258]
angles seeing what the price is doing
[259]
every one minute every five minutes
[261]
every 15 minutes and then every 30
[264]
minutes and this is what is known as the
[266]
multiple time frame
[267]
analysis for the sake of this video and
[268]
it's a pretty deep rabbit hole I'm not
[270]
gonna take you down there the whole idea
[272]
here is that as traders we want to be
[274]
doing multiple time frame analysis we
[276]
want to be looking at as many angles as
[277]
possible so you want to be sure that not
[279]
only does your platform offer you the
[281]
ability at multiple time frames but
[283]
preferably speaking for them to give you
[285]
some sort of ability where it looks like
[286]
this and you can you know organize
[288]
things very nicely and you know look at
[290]
everything all at once so let's just
[293]
come back here to the grid and I'll just
[294]
make this one so they're looking at
[296]
Facebook here now the next thing and
[298]
we'll change that back to the five
[299]
minute but the next thing you need to be
[301]
able to do and nothing big here but draw
[303]
tread lines so what does it red line
[305]
will at red line is just a way for you
[306]
to kind of get fancy and just draw some
[308]
lines on your screen and these are
[311]
important though at least for me and I
[312]
think for most people because we are you
[314]
know most people are visual and you want
[317]
to be able to visualize things as best
[318]
as possible so with just the ability to
[320]
draw red lines very very import now this
[323]
is me maybe just I suppose you could
[324]
accuse me of being high maintenance here
[326]
but I think that having some nice
[328]
choices of colors so for me I always
[330]
like to use red for resistance and then
[332]
you can come up here and click you know
[333]
make things as thick or skinny as you
[335]
want you know you can make a dashed line
[337]
if you want so I mean are these things
[338]
really required no absolutely not but
[341]
you do want to have the ability to draw
[343]
at redline but the more important thing
[344]
and this is one of those you know kind
[346]
of dynamics that you probably just don't
[349]
experience until you actually experience
[350]
it is a platform that's gonna save all
[354]
your annotations it's gonna save your
[356]
tread lines there's nothing worse than
[358]
mapping out a trade plan putting
[360]
everything together you know looking at
[361]
all the multiple time frames and you
[364]
know putting it all together and then
[365]
you close on your platform or something
[367]
happens and then when you come back
[368]
everything's gone nothing more
[371]
frustrating than that end of the world
[373]
no super frustrating a big waste of time
[377]
it absolutely is so you want to make
[379]
sure that your platform you know just is
[381]
going to save any sort of annotations
[383]
that you throw up there and I mean
[386]
treadline definitely the most important
[387]
thing but other little things that you
[389]
know are always nice is even if you can
[391]
just throw in a text box so you know for
[393]
this one and I'm just totally making
[395]
this up by at break out of
[399]
187 so I mean just little things like
[401]
that I mean can you imagine if and you
[403]
know the nice things here whoops you can
[405]
go and you know change the colors and
[406]
all this but could you imagine you have
[409]
all things documented and then your
[411]
platform shuts down and you come back
[412]
and it's all gone so just little things
[414]
like that you definitely need tried
[415]
lines because trend lines are very very
[417]
important for visualization and to help
[419]
you see certain things but you want to
[421]
make sure that the strut lines and all
[423]
those types of annotations are also
[425]
saved the next thing that's very very
[427]
important and that is your order entry
[430]
box so I'm gonna click over here on
[432]
trade so what do I mean by order entry
[434]
well right here is an order entry box
[436]
and this is how you're gonna submit your
[439]
order to the market I will say and this
[441]
is why it's number 4 on the list but if
[443]
you're a long-term investor or a swing
[445]
trader meaning you know you don't need
[446]
to operate you know as fast as a cat or
[448]
anything like that then is this
[450]
important I mean it's still important of
[452]
course but it's not nearly as important
[454]
as if you're somebody saying no no Kay I
[456]
want to be a day trader I'm looking at
[458]
date trade stocks and as a day trader I
[460]
realize that for me to you know have a
[461]
profitable strategy and be able to
[463]
implement my strategy the way I want it
[466]
to well I need to be able to operate
[468]
very quickly I need to be able to while
[470]
I'm a day trader right I've got to be
[471]
able to get in get out make decisions
[473]
quickly and just operate in a very fast
[475]
manner and that's why the order entry
[478]
box very very important so to just set
[480]
things up let's just say for example
[482]
that actually I'm getting a head
[484]
apartment yourself so the first thing
[486]
that I like is this box right here you
[488]
click on it and you can see it gives you
[490]
a bunch of different choices and these
[491]
choices are nice because again in the
[493]
the spirit of moving quickly you can
[495]
just say I want 500 shares maybe for
[498]
whatever reason and I only want 100 for
[501]
whatever reason I want 250 do you see
[502]
how quick that is when it comes to how
[503]
many shares you want you're not to click
[505]
on it and say ok I want 500 shares and
[509]
type that in no if you want a hundred
[512]
just like that now the nice thing is I
[515]
could see you saying well clay I but I
[516]
don't right now I see you ten hundred
[519]
two fifty five hundred I don't use any
[521]
of those so the nice thing about the
[523]
platform is if you come over here to
[524]
setting and then come over here to trade
[526]
then you can just focus right here on
[528]
the frequently use share quantity which
[531]
is really nice they actually give you
[532]
a couple more where you could enter in
[535]
how many you know your default settings
[536]
are but let's just say for whatever
[537]
reason I'm just totally making this up
[538]
let's say that you like to do 300 shares
[542]
at a time for whatever reason you just
[544]
like to use suit for injury chair so you
[545]
just enter it right there
[546]
so let's now go back to the trade and
[550]
you click right there and check it out
[552]
now there's 300 so very very solid but
[556]
for this sake let's just say that you
[558]
know and right now we're looking here at
[559]
Apple but you want to buy 500 shares of
[563]
Apple for any price meaning you would
[565]
want to use a market order and how fast
[569]
something can't can that be well we want
[571]
to buy so boom that fast market notice
[575]
how fast that was 500 and then you could
[578]
come down there and boom go in now it
[581]
says not tradable for me just because
[585]
this account is not funded and I don't
[587]
use this platform what platform do you
[589]
use clay because I can see the questions
[591]
that mean the platform that I use
[592]
requires at least $25,000 in your
[595]
account so if you don't have 25,000 then
[598]
you know it just want it be applicable
[600]
to you and most people I know when
[603]
they're beginners at day trading and
[605]
just getting started
[605]
they don't have 25,000 but so that's why
[609]
for me I'm not using this platform
[611]
that's why it says not tradable but the
[614]
point here being that you want to be
[616]
able to operate very quickly and you saw
[617]
how fast it was it was literally three
[620]
clicks all I had to do was click buy
[623]
market 500 again let's just say that
[627]
maybe I wanted to go short meaning you
[629]
want to sell first and I don't know I'm
[630]
just saying the 300 so okay I want to
[633]
sell 300 like right now in facebook
[635]
watch okay ready
[636]
sell boom 300 come down in there boom
[639]
click it and you can make it see how
[641]
fast that was I didn't have to take my
[643]
you know fingers off the mouse at all it
[646]
was all you know done very quickly now I
[648]
know some people and this is for me and
[650]
not a must-have but if you click here on
[653]
the settings you can click right there
[656]
and you can set up all sorts of hotkeys
[658]
this is I feel like a pretty debated
[662]
issue like I said I don't I'm not saying
[664]
you're stupid I'm not saying you're
[665]
silly I'm sure
[666]
people would call me stupid like I can't
[668]
believe you don't use hotkeys clay-like
[669]
said it's a matter of debate cuz hotkeys
[671]
can get you in a lot of trouble just as
[673]
much as they can get you out of it but
[674]
the point here being that if you do want
[676]
to set up hotkeys that does exist within
[678]
the platform itself but as far as the
[680]
order entry box as you just saw very
[682]
very quick now if you wanted to maybe
[684]
buy for a limit it would just be you
[687]
know buy you can type in your limit type
[689]
in the price 155 maybe you know 250
[694]
shares in this case and then come down
[695]
there and there you go now I'll limit
[697]
you don't need to operate as fast
[699]
because you know that you know the way
[700]
the limit order works you know the price
[702]
you know isn't going to be it's not as
[705]
you know as urgent that you get in but
[707]
if like said you want to do a market
[708]
order then it's just as simple as that
[712]
and then you can move very quickly so
[713]
that's the fourth thing that you need to
[715]
have and then the last thing you need to
[716]
have is you need the ability to gain
[719]
context you need the ability to build a
[721]
good firm foundation for your trade plan
[723]
and I'm not going to go far down this
[725]
rabbit hole but again down below this
[727]
video I'll link something to you know
[729]
how I find stocks to trade and a part of
[731]
that video I just go over you know one
[733]
of the first steps you should be taking
[734]
to build a trade plan and just establish
[737]
some general context and because of that
[739]
because you want to you know be able to
[741]
not only analyze a trade from as many
[743]
angles as possible think back to the
[745]
timeframes but you also want to be able
[747]
to establish context which is where this
[748]
next thing comes into play and that is
[751]
looking at all the markets and scanners
[754]
and the big thing here now there's a
[756]
couple scanners I mean so this does have
[758]
a screener if you want to go through a
[759]
bunch of screens but and this will mean
[761]
a little bit more if you watch that
[762]
other video but just understand that you
[764]
want to have the ability to look at
[765]
where some of the top movers are where
[767]
some of the top and most active things
[769]
are and that's what you have over here
[771]
you have top gainers you have top losers
[775]
and that is going to be very very
[777]
important I promise it'll make a whole
[779]
lot more sense if you watch that other
[781]
video you know down below about you know
[783]
how I find stocks to trade but if you
[784]
watch that I'm going to come back then
[786]
this will be make perfect sense about
[788]
why this is important and why it matters
[789]
and why your platform should be able to
[792]
give you some sort of form now maybe
[794]
they might not talk you know call it top
[796]
gainers your top losers they might call
[797]
it gaps my platform for example cause
[800]
risers and fallers what you'll see in
[802]
that other video but you need the of the
[804]
ability your platform needs to give you
[805]
the tool to be able to just quickly
[807]
quickly see where the movers are what's
[810]
active out there you know where the big
[812]
gaps where where are all the you know
[813]
where's all the action at and from there
[816]
you can start to build a play trade plan
[818]
and establish some overall context so I
[820]
hope you do decide to watch that video
[822]
down below but these are the five things
[825]
your platform needs to have again to
[829]
just read recap it candle six you want
[832]
to be able to look at multiple
[833]
timeframes multiple angles right you
[835]
need to have the ability to draw tread
[837]
lines and for the platform to remember
[839]
those tread lines you need to have a
[841]
very very efficient you need to be able
[843]
to operate very quickly so your order
[845]
entry needs to be fast it needs to be
[847]
easy to do and then finally number five
[850]
need to have those top gainers and top
[853]
you know risers whatever it's it's it's
[855]
you know your platform is gonna call it
[857]
but like I said and we bull called most
[859]
active top gainer top losers and then as
[861]
a depending on where you're at in your
[863]
journey this is kind of a number six
[865]
with an asterisk next to it a platform
[867]
that offers you paper train it can also
[869]
be very beneficial and right there you
[871]
can see paper trading that's the same
[873]
maybe for new that's the same as
[875]
simulated trading that's the same as
[876]
demo trading I'm trying to think of any
[878]
of the other terms that exist out there
[881]
but usually I think those are three more
[882]
you know Universal terms either paper
[884]
trading simulated trading or demo
[887]
trading all three of those mean the same
[889]
thing you're trading but you just don't
[891]
have any real money on the line so again
[892]
like I said if you're brand-new and you
[894]
want some sort of platform that gives
[895]
you the ability to do that well then
[897]
there you go this platform also offers
[899]
that place that if you if you're not
[902]
really worried about that that's why I
[903]
didn't quite make the top five so I
[906]
really do hope this helps you out in is
[907]
you're just getting started and doing
[909]
your research for a platform or if
[911]
you're not then maybe I can just save
[913]
you a whole bunch of time and you can
[913]
just go with weeble from the start so
[915]
can like I said if you do want to do
[916]
that link is down below and once more
[918]
transparency sake that's a fiddle at
[920]
link but it's a win-win well both you
[923]
know benefit from it you'll get a couple
[924]
stocks if you use that link but if you
[926]
have any other questions or anything
[927]
please let me know down below if you
[929]
enjoyed the video and if you and you
[930]
don't want me to make more videos like
[931]
this then easiest way to come
[933]
indicate that to me hit that like button
[934]
also down in the comment section do you
[936]
have any other suggestions for videos
[937]
like this I make no promises that I'll
[940]
actually do a but I'm always looking for
[941]
feedback I personally believe that I've
[943]
one of the best YouTube communities
[945]
because of course every comment section
[947]
is gonna have trolls but 99% of people
[949]
that leave comments on my videos they're
[951]
awesome so I'm willing to listen like
[954]
said I'm not gonna promise that I
[955]
actually do a video but if you do have
[956]
any you know questions or suggestions
[958]
for you know future videos please let me
[961]
know Blake said if nothing else and you
[963]
just want to tell me hey clay thank you
[965]

[966]
videos like this but I'm really busy
[968]

[969]

[971]

[973]
whole and a lot of other types of videos
[975]
live trade videos other you know videos
[977]

[979]

[987]
comment down below thanks for hanging
[988]

[990]
journey of finding a quality online
[992]
trading platform first off thanks so
[995]
much for watching the entire video real
[997]
quick before you go I want to invite you
[999]
to a live webinar web class training
[1001]
workshop online event whatever you want
[1003]
to call it but it will be me live
[1006]
revealing to you what I discovered that
[1008]
has allowed me to transform myself from
[1010]
being an employee to being my own boss
[1013]
including how I had only one losing day
[1016]
out of 73 days in total I'm going to
[1018]
cover three keys that have helped me
[1020]
unlock profitable consistency within the
[1022]
markets the first key is super-weird but
[1025]
in a productive type of way the second
[1027]
key is super awesome because it quite
[1029]
literally is wired into our DNA as
[1031]
humans making it very easy to use but in
[1034]
a cruel way this becomes a pitfall for
[1036]
many traders I'll explain it all though
[1039]
including how to avoid the pitfall that
[1041]
it creates for some and yeah the third
[1043]
key when you hear it sounds way to get
[1045]
way too good to be true but it's not and
[1047]
I'll show you how it all works then at
[1049]
the end I open it up for a
[1051]
question-and-answer session that is
[1052]
again totally live even if you can't
[1055]
make the live session please still sign
[1057]
up as it will be recorded and you can go
[1059]
back and watch the replay then I will
[1061]
send you click the image on the screen
[1063]
or click the link down in the
[1064]
description box so you can get the date
[1067]
and claim your spot which I should note
[1069]
is limited due to the fact that this
[1071]
truly is a live event if you have any
[1074]
questions let me know if not I'll be
[1076]
seeing you soon
