馃挩How I Diffuse for Definition AND Stretched Curls| My Wash & Go Routine (natural hair shrinkage) - YouTube
Channel: Jewellianna Palencia
[0]
This is literally the exact same length
as this section here. It's just not
[6]
stretched out.
Hey guys it's Jewellianna Palencia. Also
[10]
known as
JeweJeweBee. And in today's video, I'm going to
[13]
be sharing with you my--kind of like an--
updated hair routine. And also, my tips on
[19]
how i diffuse my hair...
"Like A Pro". So the way that I diffuse my
[23]
hair--I like to diffuse it so it has this
really rounded
[27]
shape. It looks like my hair is
super layered, and has really long layers at
[31]
the bottom.
So I'm going to share with you the
[33]
products that I am using to style my hair--
and also
[37]
exactly how I diffuse my hair to give it
tons of definition, but to still get it
[43]
really really stretched out.
And this is a very very detailed video. I
[47]
like to make my videos really quick and
to the point
[50]
but this has so many gems in it, and so
many details in it that i feel like are
[55]
going to be really
helpful! So I''m going to get into this
[59]
video! I hope you guys enjoy it. And if
you do, then
[62]
please give it a thumbs up and let's get
into it!
[66]
So for you guys who are interested in
what I'm using in my hair
[70]
for this tutorial, then you can keep
watching.
[73]
However, if you'd just like to see how I
diffuse
[76]
blow dry my hair then you can skip to
right here.
[80]
(4:25) This is a time stamp for just the
"diffusing tutorial". First, I'm going to section.
[83]
off my hair. I'm going to be using the
Jane Carter
[85]
"Incredible Curls Cream"... and I don't think
I really have
[89]
much of anything left.
[92]
I've been using this as my
"hydrator". I use a thinner hydrator first--
[99]
that's more watery. And then I use a
creamy and thicker product, to trap that
[105]
moisture in.
I realize when I do that my hair turns
[108]
out so much better, and also
so much more moisturized. Right now I''m
[112]
going to be taking my Denman Brush.
And if you guys follow me, you know that
[116]
I've been super into my Tangle Teezer--
for like the past
[119]
two years. However, I decided I wanted to
switch it
[123]
up, and try out the Denman. Since this is
like the "OG". I started using this when I
[128]
first went natural,
so I decided to try it again. And I
[132]
really liked it-- I was like "why did I
stop
[134]
using it"? I'm just gonna comb this product
through my hair. Because finger
[137]
detangling really helps to detangle my
hair, but it doesn't really get the frizz
[141]
at the roots like the Denman Brush can.
[149]
So now, I'm going to be using one of my
favorite product combos
[152]
EVER! I pretty much keep these on stock
like--
[155]
all the time. It's probably one of the
first natural hair products I bought.
[159]
And it always does amazing. So because I
used a Denman Brush already,
[163]
it makes it really easy to smooth this
product through my hair.
[172]
Then the last product I'm going to
be using is
[175]
the Shea Moisture "Curling Gel Souffl茅",
from the same line.
[180]
I don't know what's up with this batch,
but as you guys can see (oh no),
[184]
it is like coming out as whole
like globs. And last time I tried
[190]
to use it like this,
it was not blending into my hair. So I''m
[194]
gonna go blend it
or warm it up... or something. The I'll be
[197]
back. So here
is how the consistency is, now. As you can
[202]
see, it's much more
gel-like . I warmed it up in the microwave
[205]
for 20 [seconds], and then also stirred it
and that broke it apart. I'm glad that
[209]
I've already used this product before,
because if this was my first time using
[213]
it,
and it came out like this (no). So I'm gonna
[216]
just smooth this all over my hair. And I'm
[218]
not gonna use too much of this. You guys
know that I love to use A TON--
[222]
like a ridiculous amount of product. But
with this one--if you use too much--it's
[227]
gonna feel like you have honey on your
hair. It can get really really sticky. So
[230]
just
don't use too much of this. And now I 'm
[233]
just gonna move on to the next section.
That's all I'm using today. I'm not
[238]
using a ton of products--
like I normally do.
[259]
Okay nowIi'm going to do the other half,
and then we're going to move on to
[263]
diffusing. I now
all done applying the products to my
[266]
hair--
and now it's on to diffusing. Now to
[269]
diffuse my hair,
I'm using something that's a little bit
[274]
pricey. I'm using the Dyson
Supersonic. I'm just going to be
[277]
holding this around my hair for the
portion of time.
[289]
So i've diffused my hair for about 15
minutes. And my hair is around
[293]
50 percent dry. So now I'm going to move
on to the next step--which
[297]
is stretching my hair. I'm now
done this section.
[301]
And you can see, this section right here
is not stretched out.
[306]
This is literally the exact same length
as this section here--
[311]
it's just not stretched out. Okay, so I'm
just going to stretch out this section,
[315]
and then I'll be back. So to stretch out
my hair, I'm doing a version of the
[321]
"tension method".
And pretty much what I do, is I take a
[323]
section of hair,
and I use tension to help stretch it out.
[328]
I like to leave
my ends alone, not stretched. So as you can
[331]
se, I'm not going all the way down to
the ends. Because as you'll see later,
[335]
that keeps my hair looking super defined,
but still stretched out at the roots.
[341]
So you can see already-- it's been like
two minutes, and it's already so much more
[345]
stretched out
than it was before. I recorded a video
[350]
of this same method in 2015--
except then I was using it to get HUGE
[355]
hair. Actually the video's title was "how to
get huge hair".
[359]
Now i use it to stretch out my hair. And
also,
[362]
by stretching out my hair when I'm
drying it, it helps to cut down on single
[366]
strand knots and
tangles, like crazy! Because I'm drying my
[370]
hair in an
organized way, instead of allowing my
[373]
hair to dry how it wants-- which is
tangled together. Okay so I'm all done
[379]
the hair that i'm gonna stretch out and
as you can see it is
[383]
so much longer than it would be probably
be. I'd probably like "up here" if i didn't stretch it
[387]
out. Now that I'm done that, I'm just
gonna pik out my hair. And I'm just
[390]
using this
random pik I got from the beauty supply
[393]
store. It has a fist
"like this" on it. I do have A
[398]
TON of products in my hair. So it's
probably not gonna get as stretched out
[403]
as it will
on like day three or four or five. But
[408]
we still want a little bit of volume for
this video.
[424]
So for the front portion of my hair, I'm
going to style that
[429]
totally different than the back. I'm going
to add a bit of Eco Style gel to the front
[433]
of my hair,
because the front of my hair is just so
[437]
naturally prone to getting frizzy.
I know if i don't do that, it's just
[440]
going to frizz right up.
[449]
So now for this last/ front portion of my
hair, what I'm going to do
[453]
is I'm going to scrunch it up towards
the roots--
[456]
just to give it a bit more shape.
Because as you can see,
[461]
if it dries exactly like this, the
front of my hair will be the exact same
[466]
length as like
the back of my hair. So I'm going to
[469]
scrunch up in the front
a bit, so that it's not as long. It's
[473]
like I do the exact
opposite for the back of my hair... as I do
[477]
to the front.
[492]
Okay guys! So here is the finished
results. And I am
[499]
absolutely-- so happy with how my hair
turned out. My hair is literally
[503]
so hydrated right now. But also,
I have volume with tons of definition as
[509]
well. I have
no frizz in my hair. Which is exactly how
[513]
I like it.
When I diffuse my hair like this, I can
[515]
create the shape that I want-- so I can get a
very
[519]
rounded shape... instead of having to cut
super duper
[522]
short layers into my hair. I can just
diffuse it to make it look like this--
[527]
like it has like extremely short layers.
[530]
I could even clip it like this if I
wanted a curly bang too!
[536]
The diffusing portion-- I'm not gonna lie--
it takes a while. It took about an hour
[540]
to do. But the results really pay off
and my hair is stretched out. It will
[547]
probably take 10 minutes to detangle
my hair the next time I wash it. Because my
[553]
curls didn't
get to tangle together. And they were
[555]
dried stretched out and separated, so
I will have very minimal tangles. Also,
[560]
this cuts down on fairy knots because my
hair doesn't get a chance to wrap around
[564]
itself, because it was dried more
stretched out--
[568]
and or in an organized way. If you
enjoyed this video, then please give it a
[572]
"thumbs
up". And thank you so much for watching,
[575]
and I really hope you guys have a great day. Bye!
