How to Embed the Sales Rank into your SKU number

Hey, this is Nathan Holmquist of bookofthefuture.com.

For this video, I'm going to show some sales ranks examples.

Basically what I mean is examples of books with high sales ranks about, two million that

is sold fairly quickly within about three months.

Also, I'm going to show you how to embed the sales rank into your SKU number when you're

listing books.

That way you'll know what the sales rank was at the time they're listing just in case if

you're curious.

I'm going to go ahead and give you five examples.

First example, the title of the book is "Cultic Doctrine of the Seventh-day Adventism."

The rank at the time of listing was really high at 4.1 million.

I listed this on April 13th 2016.

It sold on May 18th 2016.

It only took about 35 days to sell, which is extremely fast for a ranking of that high.

I'll go ahead and show you the screenshot of the sale.

As you can see the SKU number right here it says on the end of it I have the rank embedded.

It says 4.1 million.

When I listed this book, it embedded the sales rank on the end of the SKU number.

I did that using the ScanLister, which is a listing program.

That way I always know what the sales rank was at the time of the listing.

As you can see in the beginning it says Jeremiah that's who my book sourcer is.

And also, I have the data afterwards.

That's the data listed it.

Just judging by the SKU number, I can see what the sales rank was and the date listed

as well.

As you can see, it's sold on May 18th.

It's just over a month.

This is sold for almost $40.

The second example of the title of the book is the "Church Clergy and the IRS."

The rank at the time of the listing was 2.2 million.

The date listed is April 4th.

Date sold, on May 16th.

So this one it took about 42 days to sell.

As you can see here is the SKU number again, at the end of it, 3.2 million.

This was listed on April 9th.

As you can see up here, it's sold on May 16th.

It is sold for $24.

Third example, title of this book "Cannabis: From Pariah to Prescription."

Sales rank is 2.9 million.

I listed this on April 21st and it's sold very quickly on May 12th and That only took

21 days.

Here's a picture of the sale.

This one is sold for $21.

Fourth example.

Title of this book is "Ibu Maluku."

Sales rank, 2.5 million.

I've listed this on March 30th.

It's sold on May 6th.

That took 36 days.

Here's the screenshot of the sales.

This one is sold for $26.99.

The last example, the title of the book is "Wing and Clay Shooting Made Easy."

The rank at the time of the listing was 2.3 million.

I listed this on April 30th 2016.

It's sold on July 18th 2016.

That took 78 days to sell.

Here's the screenshot.

This one is sold for almost $24.

In conclusion, books with a sales rank between two and five million do sell and some of them

can be sold fairly quickly like the ones I did show you.

You can embed the sales rank in your SKU using ScanLister.

Here's a screenshot of ScanLister.

All you have to do on the second SKU prefix there is go ahead and select sales rank.

It will automatically embed it at the end of your SKU numbers.

That way you can always keep track of the rank when you listed the product.

even though they did have a higher sales rank.
