[4]
Use the clickable sections below
[5]
to skip through different
parts of this tutorial.
[13]
The main functions of Cash App
[15]
are sending money, receiving money,
[19]
spending, and investing.
[22]
Before you can start using Cash App,
[25]
you'll need to either link a
bank account or a debit card.
[29]
We're going to link a
debit card to the account.
[32]
Launch the Cash App on your mobile device
[34]
and you'll be taken to
the green cash screen.
[38]
Tap on the amount in
the bottom left corner
[41]
to get to the home screen
[42]
and you'll see your account summary.
[45]
Your Cash App balance
will be displayed here.
[47]
Tap "Add debit card," "Add credit card,"
[51]
or "Link account" at the bottom.
[54]
We already have an account linked,
[56]
so we'll tap on "Linked accounts"
[58]
and then replace our existing debit card.
[62]
Proceed to add the rest
of your card details
[64]
and then tap "Add card."
[68]
Your debit card will now be linked
[70]
to your Cash App within minutes,
[72]
and you can start sending
and receiving money.
[80]
You can send money instantly
to peers using Cash App.
[85]
Go to the cash tab by tapping
the money icon at the bottom.
[89]
Type in the amount of money
you want to pay someone
[92]
and then click "Pay."
[94]
You can type in the name, email,
[97]
or phone number of someone
else using Cash App here.
[101]
Next to "For," you can add details here
[104]
to help the person identify
what the payment's for.
[108]
Underneath the cash amount,
[109]
it'll say whether the
money is being transferred
[112]
from your Cash App balance
[113]
or from your linked account or debit card.
[117]
Tap here and select
where you want the money
[119]
to be transferred from.
[121]
Click "Pay" in the top right corner,
[124]
and the payment will be made instantly.
[133]
You can also send money to someone else
[135]
by scanning their Cash App code.
[137]
Using Cash App codes are a faster way
[139]
to send and receive money,
[141]
as you don't need to type
someone's details in every time.
[144]
If you want to scan someone else's code,
[147]
tap here from the cash screen.
[150]
To show someone your own code,
[152]
tap "My code" at the bottom.
[162]
When you receive money on Cash App,
[164]
the money will be added to your
Cash App balance instantly.
[168]
Check if you've been paid
by going to the activity tab
[172]
by tapping on the clock icon.
[174]
All your payments will be listed.
[177]
You can send a request to a Cash App user
[179]
to prompt them to send
you what you're owed.
[182]
To request a payment,
[184]
go to the cash tab by tapping
the money icon at the bottom.
[188]
Use the number keys to type
the amount you want to request
[191]
and then tap "Request."
[196]
Add the contact's name,
email, or phone number,
[199]
and next to "For," type in
the reason for the request.
[203]
Tap "Request" in the top right to confirm.
[207]
If they accept, the amount
will be added to your balance,
[210]
and you can check your
payments in the activity tab.
[214]
If someone's paid you and you
can't see it in your account,
[217]
go to the activity tab.
[220]
At the top, you should
see their payment listed
[224]
under "Pending."
[227]
On the right-hand side,
there'll be an "Accept" icon.
[231]
Tap here to approve the payment,
[234]
and it will be added to your
Cash App balance instantly.
[245]
This is how much cash you
currently have in the app.
[249]
Tap "Add cash," and then use the keypad
[252]
to enter the amount you want
to add from your bank account.
[256]
Tap "Add" at the bottom and
confirm the transaction.
[260]
Your money will be added instantly
to your Cash App balance.
[271]
Rather than withdrawing money
[272]
to your linked bank account or debit card,
[275]
you can also spend your
balance directly from the app
[278]
using the Cash App card.
[281]
Tap the card icon at the bottom,
[283]
and then "Get free cash card."
[286]
You can then create your virtual card,
[289]
which you can use to spend
your Cash App balance.
[293]
Once you've created it,
[294]
you'll also be sent a physical
card you can use in the mail.
[309]
You can use your Cash App balance
[311]
to invest in stocks and Bitcoin for free.
[315]
Tap the graph icon at the bottom
[316]
to launch your investment page.
[319]
You'll see a graph showing
how your investments
[321]
are performing over time.
[323]
At the top, filter your investments
[325]
between stocks and Bitcoin.
[329]
Below the graph, tap the
different time frames
[331]
to change the time period of your graph.
[334]
Let's take a look at how our
stocks have done this week.
[339]
Tap on "My investments" to see a summary
[341]
of how much you've invested to date
[343]
and how your investments
are doing overall.
[346]
Under "Portfolio," you'll see a breakdown
[349]
of how each of your stocks
are performing that day.
[352]
To buy or sell a share,
[354]
find the share you want
in the investment page
[357]
and tap on it.
[359]
A page will appear showing
you the stock's current price
[362]
and its daily performance.
[365]
To buy a share, tap "Buy,"
[367]
and then the amount you want to spend.
[371]
Tap "Next" and continue
to verify your identity.
[375]
You can sell a stock by tapping
"Sell" instead of "Buy,"
[378]
and the balance will be transferred
[380]
into your Cash App account instantly.
[383]
You can also buy or sell
Bitcoin instead of a stock
[387]
by tapping on the "Bitcoin" tab
[389]
and using the buy and sell functions.
[392]
In the Bitcoin section, you
can also transfer Bitcoins
[396]
instead of money to other Cash App users
[398]
by using the send icon.
