card so i'll show you what the

application process looks like and i've

also collected the questions you sent

community tab did my research talked to

apple and got some answers for you as

well so let's kick this off with how the
[62]
apple card works i think one of the most
[65]
important things you need to know is
[67]
that in order to get the apple card you
[69]
have to have an iphone that's right the
[72]
apple car requires an iphone to apply
[74]
you won't be able to apply in a web
[76]
browser or on an android device or even
[79]
on an ipad ipod touch or mac the only
[82]
way to apply for the apple card and get
[84]
it into your apple wallet
[86]
is with an apple iphone the card number
[89]
of your apple card is accessible in the
[91]
wallet app on your iphone and that means
[93]
you can use the card right away as soon
[95]
as it appears in your wallet you do not
[97]
need to wait for the physical card to
[100]
arrive and in fact as you saw you don't
[101]
even have to opt to receive a physical
[104]
card if you don't want to as you use it

you'll see your digital card will change
[107]
colors based on the categories of the
[110]
transactions that you make so as you're
[111]
seeing videos of other people's apple
[113]
cars or even apple's official marketing

the apple card in the app looks

different depending on whose card you're
[119]
looking at so all the different colors

and gradients that you see on someone's

apple card that's an indication of the

categories or products they end up

spending money on using their card

speaking of the physical card it's a

titanium etched card which will arrive

in the mail a few days later after you
[132]
apply and are approved the card itself

will have your name on it along with an

apple logo on front

and a goldman sachs and mastercard logo

on the back there's no card number on
[141]
the card itself and there's no signature
[143]
line either now when you feel the apple
[145]
card in your hand it's very heavy it's

made of metal one thing i asked apple
[149]
about was if there was any sort of
[151]
replacement fee
[152]
if you happen to lose your card misplace
[154]
your card or have your card stolen
[157]
apple told me no there is no replacement
[159]
fee at all if you need a replacement
[160]
apple card just let them know and they
[162]
will send one out now let's talk about

the benefits for a moment what do you
[166]
get in exchange for using the apple card

benefits are a big deal these days

because anyone can offer a credit card

but a lot of people look towards

additional

perks what else do i get for signing up

with your card versus signing up for
[181]
someone else's card do i get airplane
[183]
miles hotel points
[185]
cash back double points when i buy

something at a restaurant do i get free

gas money there's all sorts of different

perks out there and these are the ones

that apple's offering with the apple

card at launch so the first benefit of

the apple card is three percent cash
[199]
back on purchases made from apple itself

and to be clear
[204]
there shouldn't be a lot of confusion
[205]
about this it's not just apple hardware
[208]
purchases it's not just things that you
[209]
buy at the physical apple store or apple
[212]
store online it's anything
[215]
that you buy through apple so that
[217]
includes the apple store so if you're
[218]
buying a new macbook pro or a homepod or
[221]
an iphone those things will be eligible
[224]
to get three percent cash back
[226]
but if you charge your apple music
[228]
subscription your icloud storage
[230]
subscription any apple tv channels you
[232]
subscribe to apple news if you're not
[234]
subscribing to apple tv plus all of
[236]
these things that you would pay apple
[238]
for subscription services etc are all
[241]
eligible for that three percent
[243]
cash back so again three percent cash

back on purchases made from apple itself

next up there is two percent cashback

when using your apple card with apple
[254]
pay so any apple pay transaction those

are the transactions where you tap to
[258]
pay you're not swiping your physical
[260]
card if you use apple pay you will get

two percent cash back on those purchases

with the exception of course being if
[267]
you use apple pay in an apple store that
[269]
will be three percent cash back apple

was cleared during the announcement of

the apple car that there's no limit to
[274]
these so you can use your card as much

as you want and you'll get that cash

back for any purchases you make with no
[280]
limits and finally there is one percent

cash back for the instances where you
[284]
need to actually swipe your physical

card and i feel like at least here where
[288]
i live in the places i travel to here in
[290]
seattle um la new york san francisco etc

i'm finding more and more that i'm able
[297]
to use apple pay in almost every place i
[300]
go to but there are instances where you
[301]
do need to bust out your physical card
[304]
and swipe it and when it comes to those
[306]
transactions you are only getting one
[308]
percent cash back so again anytime you
[311]
need to take out that physical apple
[313]
card from your wallet when you swipe
[315]
with it you're only getting one percent
[317]
back now for all the cash that accrues
[319]
as you're using your apple card to pay
[320]
apple with apple pay and with swiping at
[323]
the end of the day you're credited with
[325]
your apple daily cash so all the cash
[327]
back that you've accumulated during that
[329]
day is available to you to use at the
[331]
end of every day now this money is
[333]
deposited onto your apple cash card in
[336]
your apple wallet and you can use it
[337]
just like you would any other cash on
[339]
your apple cash card which means you can
[341]
apple pay a friend in messages you can
[343]
use your apple cash card with apple pay
[345]
at a store and you can even take the
[347]
cash that you accumulated and put it
[349]
right back onto your apple card to bring
[351]
down your balance now to be fair these
[353]
are not the best benefits that you're
[355]
going to be able to find when shopping
[357]
around for credit cards so if you're
[359]
purely about the bonuses you'll probably
[361]
want to look elsewhere now it should

also be stated that the apple card does
[365]
not have any fees there's no over limit
[368]
fees transaction fees annual fees all
[371]
there's no fees at all with your apple
[374]
card you will get finance charges if you
[376]
don't pay your bill but there's no extra
[378]
additional fees with the apple card

which is something that's rare the one

question that i got from someone was can

i pay someone else with my apple card so

i'm not buying from a store but can i
[388]
pay a friend for example with my apple
[391]
cart and the answer is

pretty much no you cannot pay someone

from your apple card to their apple cash

account you can't treat the apple card

as apple cash those are two separate
[404]
things and again it makes sense because

the apple card gives you bonuses for
[407]
spending and you're not gonna be able to
[409]
send money back and forth to your best
[411]
friend in order to accumulate that sweet
[413]
sweet daily cash without really actually
[417]
spending any money on anything apple
[419]
cash is funded by debit cards not credit
[421]
cards and the apple card is a credit
[424]
card so no you cannot use that for apple
[426]
pay person to person
[428]
transactions however if your friend does
[430]
have something like a square reader or
[432]
credit card reader then yes you can pay
[435]
that person with a credit card
[437]
transaction
[438]
using their credit card reader or device
[442]
and the last question i got from you

guys on the apple card is what if i want

to have a joint account i have a spouse
[447]
i have a significant other all of our
[449]
other credit cards are joint accounts we
[451]
want to have a joint account with the
[452]
apple card as well the answer right now

is no the apple card is only set up
[457]
currently for individual accounts so if

you have a spouse
[461]
you have someone else significant in
[462]
your life

they will need to apply for their own
[465]
apple car to be approved on their own

merit rather than being a sub account or

a card holder on your account at least

right now would not be surprised if

apple added the ability to have joint

accounts in the future especially with

their whole family sharing thing that we

see on pretty much every other service

that they offer but for now the apple

card is an individual account card if
