Channel: Patrick Dang
[0]
in this video you're gonna learn exactly
[1]
how to write the perfect code email to
[4]
turn total strangers into paying
[6]
customers
[8]
[Music]
[9]
hey it's Petra in here welcome to my
[11]
channel where we're gonna talk about all
[13]
things sales marketing and
[14]
entrepreneurship before we go ahead and
[16]
get started with this video make sure to
[18]
give it a like subscribe and turn on
[20]
notifications now during my time as a
[22]
sales rep in Silicon Valley working at
[24]
Oracle and another why common devack
[26]
startup I sent thousands literally
[29]
thousands of cold emails to generate
[31]
countless of meetings but I know in the
[33]
beginning it could be very frustrating
[34]
when you're sending out your first
[36]
campaigns and nobody is really
[37]
responding and here's the thing you know
[39]
after coaching thousands of people
[40]
around the globe on how to write cold
[42]
emails that generate meetings the reason
[44]
for why most people fail is because
[46]
number one they have a little bit of an
[48]
ego and they think they're really good
[49]
at writing cold emails but you're not
[51]
number two they think that their product
[52]
and service is so great that everyone
[54]
should automatically just take a meeting
[56]
with them obviously this does not work
[58]
so what I want to do is show you a
[60]
simple but very effective way to write
[63]
your cold emails to skyrocket your
[65]
response rates so that you can start
[67]
turning strangers into customers and
[70]
make sure you watch them to the end
[71]
because I'm gonna give you my special
[72]
cold email template that you can use for
[75]
yourself
[75]
all right so here's what we're gonna do
[77]
first first I'm gonna give you an
[78]
example of what not to do and I'm gonna
[80]
show you an example of someone who sent
[82]
a real email to me and I also changed a
[85]
couple texts change the person's name
[86]
change the person company just leave it
[88]
anonymous but for the most part this is
[90]
a real email that someone sent and we're
[92]
gonna break it down and show you why it
[93]
doesn't work and we're gonna show you
[94]
what actually works alright so let's get
[96]
into it
[96]
so this person started off with saying
[98]
hi Patrick crazy times huh and that's
[101]
obviously because of the Corona
[102]
going on right now and this person says
[104]
I heard online learning is on the rise
[106]
now what about you is it a good time to
[109]
strengthen your R&D well RAF the bat I
[112]
have no idea what he means by strengthen
[113]
your R&D so I'm not really sure what he
[116]
wants so now he says I'm John from demo
[118]
soft web agency glad to meet you
[121]
my point is pretty simple would you like
[123]
to get benefit from our experience in
[125]
the online learning domain and decent
[127]
developers if any if you are anything
[130]
like ready to discuss a potential
[132]
partnerships just drop a line kind
[134]
regards John ok so breaking this down I
[137]
have no idea what this guy does or what
[139]
value he can bring to me right normally
[142]
if you try to email someone you you're
[144]
trying to offer them something but I
[145]
actually have no idea what he has to
[147]
offer it's too vague and there's no
[149]
reason for why I would respond to this
[150]
email a second thing is that the
[152]
grammars really off so maybe he's from
[153]
another country and maybe English is not
[155]
his first language and that I understand
[156]
that but if you are writing to let's say
[159]
a Western audience or a Western company
[161]
you definitely want to make sure that
[162]
you use some kind of grammar check to
[165]
make sure you're writing your email
[166]
properly or else people aren't going to
[167]
take you seriously so if you're ready
[169]
emails like this you know don't worry
[170]
about it because I'm going to show you
[171]
how to fix this up real quick
[173]
using what I call the pain formula now
[175]
the pain formula is one of my best cold
[177]
email templates that you can basically
[178]
use in any industry no matter what it is
[180]
that you're selling and it's super
[182]
simple because we're gonna break it down
[183]
into four simple parts the first one is
[187]
having a relevant intro introducing
[189]
yourself and like what you do or why you
[191]
guys should be connected number two
[193]
we're gonna talk about the customers
[195]
pain what pains is this person
[196]
experienced and number three
[198]
solution how do you solve those pains
[199]
and finally you're gonna have the call
[201]
to action what do you want them to do
[203]
next and you want to make sure every
[205]
single one of these elements is
[206]
extremely clear so let's go ahead and
[208]
give you an example of the email that I
[210]
wrote and you can kind of get
[212]
inspiration from it and use some of the
[214]
elements in your own emails now in this
[215]
example I'm going to pretend that I have
[217]
a some kind of marketing agency or
[219]
content management agency and I'm
[221]
writing an email to myself right so I'm
[223]
this person trying to sell to Patrick
[225]
ding right this is how I would write an
[226]
email to myself so let's go ahead and
[228]
get into it right the first part like I
[229]
said before is the relevant intro so
[231]
I'll say hey Patrick
[232]
just checked out your latest YouTube
[234]
video on and then whatever that video is
[236]
about and I thought it was great right
[237]
very very relevant because I'm posting a
[239]
lot of YouTube videos if this guy
[241]
understands I'm doing that he is on the
[243]
same page as me now number two we're
[245]
gonna go into the pain section right
[247]
keep diving deep into what is the
[248]
person's pain hopefully you find a
[250]
really deep pain so you can solve it so
[252]
I can say something like after watching
[254]
the video I checked out your website and
[256]
noticed you weren't running a blog yet
[258]
which I'm not with all the high quality
[260]
content you've been putting out on
[261]
YouTube recently it's surprising you
[263]
haven't started converting those videos
[265]
into blog posts to capture more organic
[268]
traffic to your website now this is
[270]
actually something I've been thinking
[271]
about I've been putting out all these
[272]
videos but I have also have a website
[274]
but I don't have a blog and it would be
[276]
really easy for me to turn my YouTube
[278]
videos into articles or blog posts that
[281]
people can read and I can generate
[282]
traffic and make money from that so if
[284]
someone wrote me this email is really
[286]
relevant because it's exactly what I'm
[289]
thinking about and if they have
[290]
something to solve this problem for me I
[292]
am a lot more willing to take a meeting
[294]
with them right but it's all about
[295]
context understanding who your customer
[297]
is what pains they have now the third
[299]
part is all about the solution how are
[301]
you gonna solve these problems so in
[303]
this email I'm going to say now if
[305]
you're interested my company helps
[307]
YouTube content creators like yourself
[309]
start highly ranked blogs using your
[311]
YouTube content you already made and
[313]
converting them into high quality blocks
[315]
best of all we handle all the tech and
[318]
content management making it extremely
[320]
simple for you some of our clients
[322]
include client a client B and client C
[326]
so here what I'm doing is I first
[328]
started with the pain right you're not
[330]
you're not getting this extra traffic by
[331]
turning your YouTube videos and a blog
[333]
post that I'm providing a solution if
[335]
that's something you're interested in I
[337]
can do that for you super simple super
[339]
easy all you have to do is say yes right
[340]
I try to make it as easy as possible for
[343]
the other person to understand what I'm
[345]
talking about and agree to take a
[347]
meeting with me and the last little
[348]
thing I did there is I included some
[350]
clients that I worked with right so what
[353]
you want to do in this situation if you
[354]
have past clients relevant to the
[356]
prospects you are currently reaching out
[358]
to you want to name drop-down you don't
[360]
really have to say what you did for them
[362]
because it'll be too long
[363]
want to do is mention like hey I work
[365]
with these people they're similar to
[366]
people too than you know what you're
[368]
doing so it's very relevant and if I see
[371]
that I'm like oh he worked with these
[372]
people that I admire well I want to take
[374]
a meeting with this guy right so now
[376]
that you got the solution down the next
[378]
final step and this is where most people
[381]
get it wrong is having a clear
[383]
call-to-action meaning once somebody who
[386]
reads your email what's the next step
[388]
you want them to take and naturally for
[390]
a full email that next step is to ask
[392]
for a meeting so I would say something
[394]
like so if you're interested in learning
[396]
more about how we can help you get more
[399]
organic traffic or blogging let me know
[402]
what your calendar looks like and you
[405]
could also have a variation where let's
[406]
say you have something like calendly
[408]
and people can schedule a time on your
[410]
calendar you can end it with feel free
[412]
to schedule a time on my calendar write
[415]
whatever works for you but if you do it
[416]
this way like in the example if you just
[418]
ask them like let me know where your
[419]
calendar looks like usually they'll give
[421]
you a time and day on when they are free
[424]
and then you schedule a meeting through
[426]
there via email and then you sign it off
[428]
best John or whatever your name is right
[431]
so now that we've kind of put the whole
[432]
thing together if you kind of look at it
[434]
this is the basically the pain formula
[437]
structure that I showed you in the
[438]
beginning we have the relevant intro we
[440]
understand the person's pain and we
[442]
really make it hurt so that when we
[444]
provide our solution it makes it a lot
[447]
more appealing finally once we they
[449]
understand the solution you have a clear
[451]
call to action don't say something like
[453]
hey drop a line because that doesn't
[455]
make any sense like what do you mean
[456]
drop a line you just want to make it
[458]
clear let me know what your calendar
[459]
looks like or feel free to schedule a
[461]
time on my calendar to talk more you
[464]
know so you don't have to exactly copy
[466]
the words that I'm using you can
[467]
paraphrase it or use your own style of
[470]
language but for the most part the main
[472]
important thing here is to follow the
[474]
framework of the relevant intro pain
[476]
solution and call to action now if you
[480]
do these simple things just following
[482]
this template your response rates may
[484]
skyrocket just because you have this
[486]
template in place most people go in they
[488]
think they're great at writing cold
[490]
emails and they just write whatever and
[491]
it doesn't work because they don't have
[492]
a
[493]
to have predictable results but I've
[496]
sent these kind of emails literally
[497]
thousands of these emails I got tons of
[499]
meetings from it and I'm positive that
[501]
you can also do it too if you follow
[503]
this framework so with that said that's
[505]
gonna be my cold email pain formula
[508]
template that you can use for yourself
[510]
now if you enjoy this video make sure
[512]
you to give it a like subscribe and turn
[513]

[516]
comments if you enjoy these kind of cool
[517]
email videos or prospecting videos and
[519]

[521]
and one more thing if you really want to
[523]
take your sales game to the next level
[524]

[526]
on how to sell anything to anyone so to
[529]
get access to a free training just click
[531]
the link in the description and it's
[533]

see you guys in the next one
