Magnetic Pole Reversal and Magnitude 7.5 Earthquake Sandwich Islands - YouTube
Channel: Mary Greeley News
[2]
Good morning, guys.
[4]
Thank you for joining me.
[5]
I wanted to do a report about the 7.5 earthquake that occurred
[12]
yesterday along the South Sandwich Islands down there below
[19]
South America.
[21]
I am glad I waited because there's a lot more really interesting
[25]
information to give to you as of this morning.
[29]
There's been 62 earthquakes since this 7.5 earthquake, and
[35]
it's along the South Sandwich Island Trench, which is
[41]
the second deepest trench in the world next to the Puerto
[45]
Rico Trench.
[46]
But what's also interesting is this is in an area of the
[53]
South American anomaly.
[55]
This is an area where Earth magnetic field has weakened to
[60]
such a point.
[61]
Yeah.
[61]
They don't even allow the space shuttle or aircraft to fly
[65]
over the area because of the increased radiation.
[68]
Do a Google search.
[70]
The South Atlantic anomaly, I call it the South American
[75]
anomaly is an area where the Earth inner Van Allen radiation
[79]
belt comes closest to the Earth surface, dipping down to
[84]
an altitude of 200 km, 120 miles.
[86]
A region where the Earth magnetic field is the week is relative
[92]
to the idolized Earth Center diaper pole film.
[99]
It's got different things that have happened for spacecraft,
[102]
satellites, the space shuttle that have gone through this
[105]
area. They also have a Wikipedia links to the magnetic pole
[111]
reversal, magnetic storms, etc.
[116]
I have talked about as the Earth magnetic field weakens during
[121]
the last magnetic pole reversal, continent actually moved
[125]
and we're going to see an increase in this movement.
[129]
We're going to see an increase in earthquakes, volcanic eruptions.
[134]
And some scientists believe that the last time the Earth
[138]
magnetic field reversed, it just didn't happen overnight.
[142]
But where it stopped at, where current north and south poles
[147]
are at took about 20,000 years.
[151]
So during those 20,000 years, there was the movement of the
[156]
continents. Great earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, weather.
[162]
Yeah.
[162]
It definitely affected our weather around the world and things
[167]
related here.
[169]
We have an image using Google Earth, the Sandwich Island
[173]
Trench. This is what's called a back arch subduction.
[179]
This is caused by the South American Plate subducting under
[186]
the South Sandwich Microplate and this ghost plate.
[192]
If we go to the list of the earthquakes, you can see many
[196]
of them are very deep.
[197]
63.3 km in depth was 7.5.
[202]
So that's about 39 miles in depth.
[205]
We got another one that's 48 km.
[208]
So that would be about almost 30 miles in depth.
[211]
I got another 167 kilometers, which is about 41 42 miles
[218]
in depth.
[218]
We got another 161 kilometers, 10 km.
[221]
I think they put 10 km when they're not quite sure how deep
[226]
these earthquakes are.
[228]
Another one that was 47 miles in depth, or 76.4 km, 35 km,
[233]
60 km, 65 km, 69 km, etcetera.
[242]
You can see a lot of these are very deep.
[244]
Here's an image of what's going on with the subduction of
[248]
the South American Plate under the Sandwich Islands in the
[253]
Scotia Plate.
[254]
You see, we got the plate subducting melting the rock and
[260]
then coming back up and forming this line of Islands.
[265]
And then going back to Google Earth here we can see that
[268]
volcanic arch over here.
[272]
We got spreading also.
[274]
This spreading is caused not only by the subduction of the
[280]
South American plate creating the Islands, but it's also
[284]
coming up and creating spreading here between these two plates.
[291]
The Scotia Plate is basically pretty much all under water,
[295]
except for one area.
[298]
And this would be the South Georgia Island right there.
[304]
This area was originally part of the Antarctic, and it separated
[310]
in the area called Drake's Bay, becoming a little microplate.
[316]
Many of you have noticed the increase in earthquakes around
[320]
the world and this being the second deepest trench in the
[326]
world next to Puerto Rico.
[328]
And I've talked about the earthquake danger in this area
[333]
of the Caribbean, the magnetic anomalies that have occurred
[339]
in this area because of the Atlantic Plate subducting underneath
[345]
the Caribbean plate.
[346]
I have to wonder where the next great earthquake is going
[350]
to occur and the earthquakes warm.
[354]
See this trough here?
[356]
That's the deepest trough in the world where we have seduction
[361]
going on.
[361]
There's only been nine earthquakes in the last 24 hours in
[366]
this location.
[367]
And I want to go back to the interactive map for the South
[374]
American Island earthquakes.
[376]
They're still analyzing these earthquakes they know is significant,
[381]
but they have drawn I don't know if you can see the lines
[386]
drawn out.
[388]
And it's all on the side of the subduction of the South American
[394]
Plate, not down at the bottom where we have Antarctica.
[400]
If we want to keep an eye on subduction, we'll go to the
[406]
earthquake that occurred up there in Alaska.
[410]
Let me bring it up over there or they had the magnitude 8.2
[416]
earthquake. And this here is all 4.5 and greater.
[422]
This earthquake two was caused by this abduction of the Pacific
[428]
Plate under the North American Plate.
[431]
Yeah, 32.2 km in depth.
[434]
And then the eleven we had a 7.1 earthquake along that one
[441]
island. I did a report on that.
[443]
A 7.1, which was 65.6 km in depth.
[451]
That was along the Philippine Trench.
[456]
Again, subduction going underneath the island.
[461]
There.
[463]
Some of you have realized the significance of what's coming
[468]
and have been looking for these deep earthquakes, a sign
[473]
of subjection, the movement of the continents.
[476]
But this area lately has been the most significant.
[480]
Looks like they just had a 6.3 were up to 80 earthquakes
[486]
in this location.
[488]
There's been spreading also occurring along.
[492]
I'll bring it in here for you along the South Atlantic Ridge.
[498]
There's been a 5.05 .05 .34 .9 total of six within the last
[512]
month. Usually when you have a large earthquake.
[517]
Yeah, you have after shocks.
[518]
But I was surprised at how large these after shocks are,
[525]
showing that they're in the depth showing that subduction
[529]
is still going on a lot of 5.0 and greater.
[536]
And the death have been quite deep awesome.
[541]
