[8]
hi this is John Fallot with senior
[10]
enrollment solutions today we're going
[13]
to be discussing the luxuries of your
[15]
Medicare your dental your vision your
[19]
hearing and your prescription drugs your
[23]
dental by visiting the senior enrollment
[25]
solutions.com website simply click or
[29]
hover over the health tab and click on
[32]
the dental tab through the senior
[34]
enrollment solutions website we share
[36]
with you that there are only two
[37]
different styles of dental coverage
[39]
you're either purchasing a traditional
[41]
plan or you're purchasing a fee for
[43]
scheduled plan with a traditional plan
[46]
generally you're lured into that plan by
[48]
having your cleanings oral evaluations
[51]
and x-rays covered in full however keep
[54]
in mind you'll have a minimum waiting
[57]
period of six months on your minor
[59]
procedures cavities fillings extractions
[62]
and a 12 month waiting period on your
[65]
major procedures crowns bridges partials
[69]
etc you have to pay a premium for six
[72]
months or in 12 months prior to the
[75]
carrier paying for any of those
[76]
procedures with a traditional plan
[79]
understand that you're limited or you're
[81]
capped on that particular plan generally
[84]
at a thousand or twelve hundred dollars
[86]
per year you may have lived the horror
[88]
stories or have heard of the horror
[90]
stories where I needed two crowns I went
[93]
out in February got one crown taken care
[95]
of but then went out the following year
[98]
and got another crown taken care of well
[100]
why do you do this well you did it
[101]
because you capped your insurance and
[103]
your plans just simply no longer paying
[105]
anything even though you're paying a
[107]
monthly premium for that coverage with a
[110]
fee per schedule there is no waiting
[112]
periods there is no cap there is no
[115]
exclusions and there is no limitations
[117]
what you're doing is you're signing in
[120]
essence an agreement to pay cash for
[122]
those procedures when you visit the
[124]
dentist office so it's a fee per
[127]
schedule you schedule an appointment the
[131]
dentists will know exactly what they're
[132]
charging you you know exactly what your
[134]
costs are prior to visiting the dentist
[137]
office and in turn everyone knows
[139]
exactly what the call
[140]
there's no surprises that you capture
[143]
insurance had a waiting period or
[144]
anything of that nature moving on to
[147]
vision coverage vision coverage is
[151]
oftentimes a very mistaken coverage when
[154]
it comes to your Medicare we do offer
[157]
several different vision providers now
[160]
keep in mind with vision coverage you're
[163]
generally paying a premium of around $20
[165]
per month to get half off of your eye
[168]
examination and typically 40% off your
[171]
lenses and frames 40% of retail cost is
[175]
generally higher than what you're able
[178]
to find your eyewear online there's a
[180]
slew of our locations online to purchase
[185]
your eyewear for less than $70 perhaps
[188]
thinking outside the box will save you
[190]
money when it comes to purchasing your
[191]
eyewear most carriers however when it
[195]
comes to your supplemental plans do not
[197]
cover vision coverage at all you're
[200]
hearing you can purchase an additional
[204]
hearing plan typically it will have a 12
[207]
month waiting period prior to allowing
[210]
you to purchase any hearing aids at any
[212]
discounted rates they want a year's
[214]
worth of premium dollars or two years
[216]
worth of premium dollars out of you as a
[218]
consumer prior to covering 50% of a
[222]
hearing aid or a hearing apparatus keep
[225]
in mind that several prescription drug
[228]
carriers currently include a hearing
[231]
benefit at no additional charge it
[234]
generally would behoove you to purchase
[236]
your prescription drug plan with a
[239]
carrier that includes a hearing benefit
[241]
as opposed to spending forty or fifty
[243]
dollars a month for a plan that's not
[245]
going to cover more than 50% mind you it
[249]
is capped or limited to 1500 or $2,000
[253]
generally on what the carrier is going
[255]
to provide you in a given year's time by
[258]
purchasing a prescription drug plan that
[260]
includes your prescription drug coverage
[263]
as well as a hearing benefit may save
[266]
you a tremendous amount of time money
[268]
and hassle in the event you are in need
[270]
of hearing apparatus Azure hearing aids
[274]
your prescription drugs no I understand
[277]
you purchased a prescription drug plan
[279]
or will be purchasing a prescription
[281]
drug plan however keep in mind
[283]
throughout the year your prescription
[285]
drug provider may no longer carry that
[288]
medication it occurred in 2014 with
[291]
lipitor millions of Americans on lipitor
[295]
simply no longer had lipitor covered on
[297]
several plans so what are your options
[300]
well you can either pay retail costs for
[303]
those medications you can change your
[305]
medication but unfortunately there are
[307]
some side effects to generics or
[309]
purchasing a different medication you
[312]
may ask your primary care physician if
[313]
they have any samples then may help you
[316]
get by for the next month or two or
[318]
finish the year out senior enrollment
