the title of the mandalorian season 2 episode聽
5 has been reported as the jedi which is just聽聽

a general reference to ahsoka tano and the enemy聽
sorcerers the mandalorian and the armor spoke of聽聽

in the season 2 trailer the jedi that mando is聽
quested to take baby yoda to also it broadly聽聽

references to the show invoking the lore of聽
the jedi to the series in a much bigger way聽聽

like the concept of jedi and the force are coming聽
to the mandalorian series in a much bigger way聽聽

than before there's still a ton of questions that聽
the show has raised during season 1 and season 2聽聽

so far about where for sensitive characters and聽
former jedi that survived order 66 fit into the聽聽

show going forward like how many jedi are we going聽
to see over the next couple of seasons most of聽聽

those answers will come with episode 5 or they'll聽
at least give us enough information to provide聽聽

some context for that as at the end of episode聽
four he's currently returned to his original聽聽

mission with the directions given to him by bo聽
katan and the other mandalorians he's going to聽聽

there were a lot of you that asked if kaladan was聽聽

meant to be a dune reference to kaladan the former聽

the first novel or the movie depending on what聽

official subtitles of the show though it's spelled聽
differently so i assumed at the time in episode聽聽

three when bogatan said that it wasn't meant to be聽
a direct reference to dune but it does sound very聽聽

similar corvus though is a star wars name it's聽
the name of the ship that iden versio's inferno聽聽

squad uses during battlefront that character is聽
still alive during this period in the timeline聽聽

so because katie sackoff went from doing the聽
animated version of her character Bo Katan聽聽

on the clone wars and rebels to doing the live聽
action version it's always possible that janina聽聽

gavin carr could do the same thing with iden聽

to show up on the series now from the jedi fallen聽

secret mark hamill style cameo during episode 3聽
though if you can believe it she played the mon聽聽

crest so we'll see if she eventually shows up in聽聽

character pretty much anybody from anywhere in the聽聽

canon in legends is totally fair game if they're聽
bringing stuff from the dark forces video game聽聽

like the dark troopers back into main canon they聽
could do that for anything that they want even聽聽

mark hamill had a cameo during season 1 as the聽
ev99 droid bartender in the most iceland cantina聽聽

you wouldn't have known it was him unless they聽
told you because they changed his voice so much聽聽

so pretty much anything is possible but the聽
mandalorian is finally going to ahsoka tano聽聽

they've been hyping her up all year long a lot of聽
you had questions about how she's going to change聽聽

the show so fundamentally because she's such a聽
huge character she's one of the most powerful聽聽

force users or former jedi left in the galaxy聽
after order 66 and reportedly rosario dawson聽聽

who's going to be playing her signed a pretty big聽
contract with the star wars disney people that聽聽
[220]
cover a bunch of future appearances and potential聽
spin-off series for ahsoka so theoretically聽聽
[226]
there's going to be a lot of live-action ahsoka in聽
the next couple of years in a bunch of different聽聽
[230]
places but probably the most important thing聽
in all this though is the idea that baby yoda聽聽
[235]
will probably never leave the mandalorian series聽
and the mandalorian will always be the main聽聽
[240]
star wars disney plus series during this part of聽
the timeline right after return of the jedi but聽聽
[245]
before the events of the new star wars movies聽
like force awakens or ryza skywalker mando聽聽
[250]
effectively dominates this stretch of history聽
from a production standpoint with this giant new聽聽
[255]
galactic civil war in the battle for the planet聽
mandalore that they've been hyping up there will聽聽
[260]
be multiple spin-offs but this series will always聽
be the main one until they decide to end the show聽聽

in however many years season 5 season 7 whatever聽
the way ahsoka is being pitched on the mandalorian聽聽

series is a little like Bo Katan really important聽
characters fan favorites that show up play a聽聽
[276]
really important role in the mando and baby yoda's聽
character development in the overall narrative of聽聽

the galaxy but then they cycle out with mando聽
going on to encounter other big characters from聽聽
[286]
the star wars universe as he continues on his聽
journey so at the moment they're really more like聽聽
[291]
important side characters not main characters so聽
logically there will have to be some reason that聽聽
[296]
baby yoda can't stay with ahsoka permanently mando聽
is taking him to her with the intent to leave him聽聽
[302]
and then return to his regular life as a bounty聽
hunter and trying to track down the remnants of聽聽
[306]
his former clan including the armor she's still聽
alive out there somewhere then there's also the聽聽
[311]
recent revelation that bogatan gave him dropping聽
all that knowledge about the way and what that聽聽
[315]
really means in the larger context like he grew聽
up being taught completely different things and聽聽
[320]
values about the mandalorians than what bokotan聽
just told him so he's still kind of in shock聽聽
[325]
about that and she's trying to recruit him as a聽
night owl to join their war against maf gideon and聽聽
[330]
retake the planet mandalore in the darksaber so聽
for those of you asking why ahsoka wouldn't take聽聽
[336]
baby yoda from him even if he tries to take off聽
i think there's a couple answers to that question聽聽
[341]
first there's the immediate threat of moff gideon聽
and the dark troopers from the end of episode four聽聽
[346]
that tag scene where he asks if mando still has聽
the asset talking about the child and then says聽聽
[351]
we will be ready for them with his evil smile聽
giancarlo esposito is so good at doing that evil聽聽
[357]
guy smile we're in the back half of the season so聽
the plot is starting to pick up the pace getting聽聽
[362]
crazier and crazier moff gideon will probably聽
show up really soon with the dark troopers聽聽
[366]
and try to take baby oda by force make as many聽
jedi preferences as you want in that situation聽聽
[372]
mando would probably feel obligated to try and聽
protect the child so he'd stick around for that聽聽
[377]
to say nothing of boba fett showing up to聽
complicate things as well he's sort of an x factor聽聽

this season we haven't seen him since the end of聽
episode 1 but we know that he's clocking mando he聽聽
[386]
wants his armor back and he's a bounty hunter by聽
trade moff gideon still has that very large bounty聽聽
[392]
out on the child so do the easy math on that boba聽
fett will probably show up sometime soon again too聽聽
[398]
and there's the idea that ahsoka herself will聽
recognize the father-son relationship that mando聽聽
[403]
has with baby yoda and how much they need each聽
other and she'll decide that it's best that they聽聽
[408]
stay together for both their sakes long term聽
remember grief cargo's speech at the end of聽聽
[413]
season 1 episode 8 he made this joke about mando聽
protecting baby yoda and just maybe baby yoda聽聽
[418]
would protect mando the armor also referenced聽
that when they were talking about his crest for聽聽
[423]
the mudhorn that she was making him in the finale聽
from an overall narrative standpoint that's the聽聽
[428]
main reason the show will always be about the聽
two of them like the title of the show the聽聽
[432]
mandalorian doesn't just refer to din jarn it also聽
refers to baby yoda because they're a clan of two聽聽
[437]
as decreed by the armor that being said though聽
ahsoka brings the wisdom of the jedi to the show聽聽
[443]
in a way we haven't seen yet mando still thinks聽
of the jedi as enemy sorcerers he knows nothing聽聽
[447]
of the force even though he quoted the trademark聽
phrase may the force be with you ahsoka can just聽聽
[452]
clarify a lot of his misconceptions about the聽
jedi and give him some guidance and help teach聽聽
[457]
a few things to baby yoda he's already so powerful聽
and so connected to the force that most of what he聽聽
[462]
does his abilities are all instinctual just him聽
reacting in the moment without thinking about it聽聽
[467]
and if you listen to a lot of the interviews聽
before season 2 started giancarlo esposito聽聽
[471]
says that on the show the way that they write the聽
child baby yoda is that he has no ego he's neither聽聽
[477]
good nor evil he's just full of infinite聽
potential and it's through his experiences聽聽

and interactions with other characters like mando聽
and moff gideon that he learns to be good or evil聽聽

but talking more about ahsoka's history charting聽
the timeline of the jedi and the force users after聽聽

order 66 the main reason why we're just learning聽
about ahsoka now on the show is because after聽聽
[498]
order 66 which they covered in the clone wars聽
season 7 final episodes they're fantastic if you聽聽

never watch those i did a couple videos for those聽
ahsoka buries her comrades then left behind her聽聽
[509]
last remaining lightsaber that anakin skywalker聽
had given to her in order to make the empire think聽聽
[514]
that she had died too going into hiding like all聽
the other jedi that survived the purge like a lot聽聽
[520]
of you've been wondering if calcus will ever show聽
up on the mandalorian series he goes into hiding聽聽

effectively trying to keep it on the dl after聽
order 66. but right after this happens she heads聽聽
[530]
to the other side of the outer rim territories聽
away from the main hyperspace routes to try and聽聽
[535]
stay as off the radar as possible on a planet聽
called thibasca there is a book that covers a聽聽
[540]
lot of this part of her history and as you would聽
expect even though she is trying to keep as quiet聽聽
[545]
as possible she winds up getting involved in local聽
affairs helping people around her which causes her聽聽
[550]
to have run-ins with more stormtroopers so she聽
continues to have to jump around from planet聽聽
[554]
to planet in the outer rim never staying in聽
any one place for too long but eventually she聽聽
[559]
winds up defeating a sith inquisitor taking his聽
lightsaber crystals purifying them using them to聽聽
[564]
create her two new dual white lightsabers that聽
you see her fighting with in star wars rebels聽聽
[569]
so these are different lightsabers than the ones聽
that anakin made for her during the clone wars聽聽
[574]
eventually bail organa learned that she was still聽
alive in the outer rim and recruited her into聽聽
[578]
the rebellion formally before the events of new聽
hope they brought her onto the star wars rebels聽聽
[583]
tv series and she goes by the code name fulcrum聽
just helping the rebels out then just prior to聽聽
[589]
the events of a new hope she finally meets anakin聽
skywalker again after he became darth vader and聽聽
[594]
they have a big reunion battle in the sith temple聽
they'd had visions of each other up to this point聽聽
[599]
but this is the first time that she'd actually聽
ever met him after he became darth vader later聽聽
[604]
through some time travel nonsense in the world聽
between worlds ezra bridger saves her and she聽聽
[609]
winds up traveling in time to a few months later聽
during the events of the original trilogy and then聽聽
[614]
goes on jedi walk about communing with the force聽
and helping locals as she bounces around the outer聽聽
[618]
rim territories again there's really no official聽
canon story for exactly what she was doing day to聽聽
[624]
day or specific adventures during the events of聽
the original trilogy but i think we'll learn a聽聽

little more about that from live action ahsoka on聽
the mandalorian series and wherever else she winds聽聽

up showing up in the disney plus series then right聽
after return of the jedi she shows up on star wars聽聽
[638]
rebels in this post-credits scene to take sabine聽
into the unknown regions to find ezra bridger聽聽

then a couple years later comes back to the outer聽
rim territories and starts working with bogotan聽聽
[648]
again as she said during episode 3. my assumption聽
in terms of the future of her character on the聽聽
[653]
mandalorian series is that she'll keep coming聽
back every season to help out until they have聽聽
[657]
their final battle with moff gideon in the new聽
empire whatever the new battle of mandalore winds聽聽
[663]
up being in the final season i talked about this聽
during my Bo Katan video last week but this is the聽聽
[668]
real end game of the show make all the marvel聽
avengers references you want we're in the end聽聽

game now they finally take the planet back from聽
moff gideon and get rid of him permanently and聽聽

because ahsoka had a cameo scene during the rise聽
of skywalker and that voices of the jedi scene聽聽
[683]
dave filoni explained that she was not dead聽
when that was happening so there is a really聽聽
[688]
old version of ahsoka somewhere 30 years in the聽
future she'd be in her 70s during this period聽聽
[693]
so that just implies that ahsoka will not die聽
during the events of the mandalorian series聽聽

just keep that in mind regardless of what kind of聽
twists they try to throw at us during the episodes聽聽
