"What Are Your Salary Expectations?" INTERVIEW QUESTION & Best Example ANSWER! - YouTube
Channel: CareerVidz
[0]
WHAT ARE YOUR SALARY EXPECTATIONS? Before I
came along to the interview, I carried out
[5]
some research to assess the average salary range
for this position within this industry, and the
[11]
average salary range was between 30 and 37,000
dollars. Although I feel I am worth the higher
[19]
salary range of 37,000 dollars, I understand that
you don't know me, and I have a responsibility to
[26]
prove to you my worth. So, on that basis, I
would be comfortable with a salary of $35,000.
[33]
I feel at that range you will be more than
impressed with my work output and my ability to
[39]
help you achieve your objectives. Thank you. So,
I am sure you will agree that that was a really
[44]
good answer to that question: What are your salary
expectations? Now, in a second, I am going to give
[51]
you the EXACT SCRIPT to use when answering the
question, what are your salary expectations? But,
[58]
before I do give you the script, here’s 3 really
important tips for answering it with confidence,
[65]
and in the correct manner. TIP NUMBER 1 - Make
sure you research the average salary range for
[73]
the role you are being interviewed for, before
you attend the interview. Where do you find
[79]
the average salary range for your particular job?
Well, there are two websites. The first one you
[84]
can use is PayScale.com, and the second one is
Glassdoor.com. Now, I have placed the links to
[91]
these websites in the description below the video
for you. Once you finish watching this tutorial,
[98]
make sure you check those out. TIP NUMBER 2 - Make
sure you ask for a salary that is slightly below
[106]
the highest range of the average. So, for example,
if the average salary range for your particular
[113]
job is $18,000 and $30000, make sure you choose
a salary that is just below the highest range.
[122]
And in that particular range, I would be going for
$27,000. TIP NUMBER 3 - You then need to JUSTIFY
[131]
WHY you are worth this particular salary. So,
here's the EXACT SCRIPT of what you need to say
[138]
when you are answering this difficult interview
question: What are your salary expectations? Here
[143]
we go. “Before attending the interview today, I
carried out some research to establish the average
[150]
salary range for this job within this industry.
The average salary is between $25,000 and $34,000.
[159]
Whilst I feel I am worth the higher salary
range, I understand that you do not know me,
[165]
and I have a responsibility to prove to you my
worth. On that basis, I would be comfortable
[171]
with a salary of $31,000 and I believe, based on
my hard-working nature, my ability to get up and
[178]
running quickly in the role, and my commitment to
your company brand, you will soon see a positive
[184]
return on your investment, if you choose to hire
me.” So, all you need to do is use that script,
[190]
but change the YELLOW HIGHLIGHTED NUMBERS to the
average salary range that you have established
[196]
once you have visited those two websites.
