This is Aunt Frenita and I have a wonderful story for you

Called "The Woman at the Well"

Today's memory verse is from Luke 8:39

It says "Tell how much God has done for you"

The message for today's story is "We help others when we tell them about Jesus"

Have you ever been thirsty?
[31]
So thirsty you couldn't wait to get a drink?
[35]
One day when He was traveling
[37]
Jesus became very thirsty
[40]
Would someone get Him a drink?
[43]
Jesus sat beside the well in the middle of the day
[46]
He was very thirsty
[49]
He was hungry too
[50]
His disciple friends had gone into the town to buy food
[54]
But Jesus had decided to sit by the well to rest
[58]
Jesus did not have a bucket with a rope tied on it
[62]
So He did not have any way to reach any of that nice cool water in the well
[68]
Maybe someone would come to get water from the well and offer Him a drink
[73]
Around lunch time a woman came to the well
[76]
And she had a water jug
[79]
She was going to get some water
[81]
Jesus looked at her
[83]
And He knew that she was a Samaritan
[86]
Jesus knew that the people of Samaria did not like Jews
[90]
And Jews did not like Samaritans
[93]
Jesus was a Jew
[95]
But He liked Samaritans
[97]
In fact
[98]
He liked people of every country
[102]
Jesus knew that the woman would not speak to Him
[104]
She would not speak to a Jew
[107]
So Jesus spoke to her instead
[110]
"May I please have a drink of water?"
[113]
The woman was very surprised
[116]
"You are a Jew," she said
[119]
"And you are talking to me?"
[121]
"You know that I am a Samaritan"
[124]
"That's right," Jesus said with a smile
[127]
Then he began to talk to the woman
[129]
She was so interested in what Jesus was saying
[133]
That she forgot to get Him a drink
[136]
Jesus knew that the woman had troubles
[139]
He knew that people did not like her very much
[141]
But that did not matter to Jesus
[144]
He loved everybody
[146]
Although He was tired and thirsty
[149]
Jesus could see that the woman needed to know about God's love
[153]
He wanted to help her even more than He wanted a drink of water
[158]
As they talked
[159]
The woman told Jesus that she knew God had promised them a Saviour would come and help people understand about Him
[167]
Then Jesus surprised her
[169]
He said, "I am that Saviour"
[173]
The woman was so happy
[176]
Jesus was the Saviour and He was her friend
[180]
Quickly she left her water jug and ran back into the town
[184]
She wanted to tell other people about Jesus
[187]
It did not take long for people to gather at the well
[190]
They listened to His stories and invited Him to stay with them
[194]
For two days
[196]
Jesus stayed and told the people about God's love
[201]
Jesus loves and helps all people
[204]
It doesn't matter to Him where they come from
[206]
or what they look like
[208]
Everyone needs to know about Jesus
[212]
You can help by telling others about God's love
[215]
You can be loving just like Jesus
