First I'm going to start with the real life聽
story, I used to work in PWC and I had a friend,聽聽

I have a friend named Sharan. He was my age, he聽
was a qualified CA and his goal is to get it into聽聽

the the biggest and the best investment banks,聽
so he was one of those guys who planned a few聽聽

steps ahead, what did he do he cleared CA, by聽
the way he was a genius okay so it doesn't mean,聽聽

it doesn't take away anything from his hard work聽
but he finished that. He joined PWC with me,聽聽

he was working there for a couple of years in his,聽
uh during his time of his work at PWC he started聽聽
[42]
studying for CFA okay. He knew that CFA studying聽
with work made a lot of sense because that time聽聽
[49]
CFA exams were held every six-six聽
months. So he knew that okay fine,聽聽

level one I have six months to study uh along with聽
my work I'll start studying on the weekends and聽聽

post work he started doing that. He cleared level聽
one, cleared level two, cleared level three, then聽聽

he applied for an MBA overseas, based on the fact聽
that he's a chartered accountant, he has a CFA聽聽
[68]
which is a US-based qualification in the field of聽
investment and finance and he had PWC experience.聽聽

He got into an MBA, uh uh called the college that聽
he wanted overseas in the States and now he's聽聽

gonna come back, this is by the way so he's right聽
over there, right now and he's gonna come back聽聽

and he has offers in these kind of companies that聽
he had envisioned back when he was a kid in PWC.聽聽

So uh planning in this manner step by step聽
strategically is of huge benefit and this video is聽聽

going to be on whether you should pursue CFA after聽

and accounting related courses. CFA is slightly聽
different, CFA is a specialization in the field聽聽

of finance. It is the number one qualification in聽
the world in the field of investment management so聽聽

if you if you like uh learning about these kind聽
of things like you like the markets, when I say聽聽

markets I mean equity markets, bond markets, forex聽
derivatives, you like these complex instruments,聽聽

you like economics, you like uh basically stuff聽
such as Banking you know Corporate Banking and聽聽

complete finance and things like that, CFA covers聽
all of that in much more depth. So the first first聽聽

question, Is your reasoning of doing CFA valid?聽
Is it because either you like the subjects of CFA聽聽

after studying CA, because when you study CA and聽
then you see the subject of CFA you'll understand聽聽

much more right. You know, did you love the聽
financial management and those kind of subjects聽聽

of CA then CFA academically is it makes sense to聽
you. Second is your dream to work in a particular聽聽

profile, in a particular company, in a particular聽
field, which requires you to study CFA? That makes聽聽

the most sense logically whether to pursue聽
CFA after CA or not. But it has to be one of聽聽

these guys, if you're just doing CFA to add a聽
qualification to your CV after you're a CA uh,聽聽

I mean do it but but the value will then be聽
more of a fluke you know, you will have to聽聽

hope that you then come across a company which聽
is requiring both of these qualifications but聽聽

it's better to set your sights on some kind聽
of qualification, for example I had given聽聽

in the beginning investment banking is the聽
most, one of the most sought after profiles聽聽

in this, in basically, in the world of聽
finance. So for investment banking in India,聽聽

a CA plus CFA and you add an MBA to it, it's聽
a gold mine right. You you you definitely will聽聽

get there but you need to have an understanding聽
and an affinity towards investment banking,聽聽

that's an example right like I said if you聽
really love the market right, you really love聽聽

uh handling other people's money uh and聽
deciding where to invest for example like聽聽

investing in equity, investing in mutual funds,聽
investing in bitcoin, investing in real estate,聽聽

like you like that, right you like taking people's聽
money investing it across the market and then聽聽

giving them a higher return than what others can聽
give, if that somehow resonates with you, CFA is a聽聽

is probably the only qualification you should聽
aim for post CA. But do aim for CFA because of聽聽

some logical and rational reason rather than聽
just increasing the weight of your resume.聽聽

So with that being said, I feel yeah if you聽
completed your final CA, uh level one would聽聽

be really easy for you. For CFA level two and聽
three, will require hard work but always ensure聽聽

that you're pursuing CFA along with work, do not聽
take a break from work because it makes no sense聽聽

that you've completed CA and now you're just聽
studying CFA by yourself at all. Continue start聽聽

start working heading towards the goal which you聽
want and study CFA simultaneously, you will be in聽聽

a position to study CFA along with work it's not聽
it's not especially not if you've cleared CA and聽聽

for those who are in the middle of CA, thinking of聽
jumping to CFA I would suggest please hold unless聽聽
[340]
you're right in the middle of your article ship聽
and you know you have enough time to study, that's聽聽
[344]
the only time you can take up CFA otherwise wait聽
finish CA and then shift otherwise you're going to聽聽

be all over the place and it might be a huge huge聽
mess. So uh just to summarize guys please aim for聽聽

CFA based on some logic and if it's post CA the聽
kind of outcome, the kind of value you will have聽聽

because of this CA plus CFA on your title is going聽
to be it's going to open all doors for you in the聽聽
