If you want to send money to someone online
[3]
So you have 3 ways to do this
[5]
The first is NEFT, the second RTGS, and the third is IMPS
[9]
Now how do these methods work
[12]
When to use these methods
[14]
We will discuss the same in this video
[17]

So if you want to send money to someone online
[38]
Then you have 3 options
[40]
NEFT, RTGS, or IMPS
[42]
For example, your bank account is in SBI, Karol Bagh branch of Delhi
[47]
And you want to send money to someone whose bank account
[52]
is in Axis Bank, Ramapuram, Chennai
[55]
So firstly you should know the IFSC code of that bank
[58]
I have written the IFSC code of the Ramapuram branch of Axis Bank
[63]
So you should know this
[65]
And now how can you send money to someone online ?
[67]
The first way you have is net banking
[69]
On your laptop, go to the respective website
[72]
Whatever your bank is, if your account is in SBI
[74]
So you will go on the website of SBI, and log in
[77]
And then you have to register the beneficiary
[81]
The second option is you can use mobile banking
[84]
The third option is you can go to any branch of the bank
[87]
and initiate an online fund transfer
[89]
So what are the requirements for that?
[92]
The first is you need the name of the beneficiary
[95]
You need the exact name of the person to whom you want to send the money
[97]
which is in their account
[100]
The second thing you need is their account number
[102]
So if you are transferring money in the Axis Bank
[104]
Whoever's account is this, you need the exact account number of Axis Bank
[109]
Third is you need IFS Code
[110]
For example, I have written this IFS code here
[113]
You will need this
[114]
And you have to remember one thing
[116]
Whenever you transfer the money, then firstly you need to register the beneficiary
[121]
For example, if you go on the website of SBI,
[124]
then to whoever you want to send the money
[126]
You have to register him as a beneficiary in your account
[130]
Now it depends that how much time it will take for registration
[134]
In some banks, for example, in City Bank, there is instant registration
[138]
So there is no time limit, you can instantly register on that
[142]
and send money
[144]
In Axis Bank and ICICI Bank, it takes time up to 30 minutes
[148]
In some banks, it can take the time up to 1 day
[151]
So it depends on the bank, how much time it will take
[154]
Let's go, now we will understand the individual features of NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS
[158]
And when to use which one
[161]
So the full form of NEFT is National Electronic Fund Transfer
[165]
This technology was launched in 2005
[168]
All the banks which accepted this technology became its member
[172]
And the banks which have this technology
[175]
NEFT fund transfer can happen between those banks
[178]
So on today's date, all popular banks provide NEFT facility
[183]
We get all the facilities of NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS
[186]
So nowadays you don't have to think that much
[188]
wheather this facility is available in your bank or not
[192]
There is timing in NEFT, you can send money the same day
[196]
But you have to do the transactions during office hours
[199]
This means you can do the transactions between 8:00 am to 6:30 pm
[204]
And what are the limits in this?
[206]
There is no limit of minimum amount
[208]
If you want to send a rupee or two, you can surely send it
[212]
What is the limit for the maximum amount
[214]
In some banks, the maximum limit is 10 lakhs
[218]
Some banks give the limit of 25 lakhs
[221]
When you do the registration of the beneficiary,
[224]
the limit for initial 24 hours can be less
[228]
In some banks, it is 30000 Rs
[230]
And in some banks, it is up to 50000 Rs
[233]
How much are the charges?
[235]
It depends.
[236]
The charges can differ from bank to bank
[238]
So if I talk about Axis Bank and ICICI bank
[242]
The charges can be from 2.5 Rs to 25 Rs excluding GST
[247]
This is charged per transaction
[249]
There are different slabs for different amounts in every bank
[253]
These are charged according to that
[255]
So these are nominal charges, they are not much
[257]
After that, how are funds are transferred
[259]
I have told you already
[260]
that the funds can be transferred on the same day
[262]
These are done in hourly batches from 9 am to 7 pm
[266]
The number of transactions accumulated per hour is dispatched
[271]
For example, the transactions occurred between 8 am to 9 am
[275]
Let's say 10 transactions occurred between 8 am to 9 am in SBI
[281]
So all these 10 transactions will be released at 9 am
[286]
Then let's say between 9 am to 10 am, 15 transactions occurred
[291]
Then they all will become a batch,
[294]
and these transactions will be released at 10 am
[297]
So the money is not transferred instantly
[299]
The batches are made and then transferred within the batches
[303]
If you want to transfer the money instantly, you can opt for RTGS
[307]
The full form of RTGS is Real Time Gross Settlement
[310]
You can understand the meaning by the real-time
[312]
The money is transferred instantly in this
[315]
The timing of RTGS is 8 am to 4 pm
[317]
You can do transactions between 8 a to 4 pm
[320]
The second most important thing that you have to remember is that
[324]
The minimum transaction amount in this is 2 lac Rs
[327]
You can do RTGS of the amount below 2 lac Rs
[330]
If you want to transfer the amount below 2 lac Rs
[333]
Then you have to opt for IMPS for that
[335]
So maximum how much amount is allowed in this
[338]
You can do a transaction of a maximum of 25 lacs Rs
[341]
In some banks, the limit is 10 lacs Rs
[343]
And in some banks, it is up to 25 lac Rs
[345]
What are the charges?
[347]
It depends on the banks.
[349]
If I talk to you about Axis Bank, ICICI, or HDFC, then the charges
[354]
are 25 Rs to 50 Rs per transaction plus GST
[358]
After that, fund transfer, we already talked about it
[361]
that funds are transferred instantly in this
[363]
Now see what's in IMPS?
[365]
In RTGS the minimum amount limit was 2 lacs Rs
[369]
In IMPS, there is no limit like that
[371]
So let's understand IMPS well
[374]
The full form of IMPS is Immediate Payment Service
[377]
So as soon as you perform the transaction,
[379]
the fund will be transferred immediately
[381]
To whoever you are sending
[383]
Timing is 24脳7
[385]
I will mark this as a star, this too is a very important feature of IMPS
[389]
You can transfer money from your home at midnight or 1 am or 2 am
[394]
That's why IMPS is very good
[397]
Then if we talk about the limits, there is no minimum limit in this
[401]
You can send 2 Rs, 5 Rs, or 10000 Rs, 20000 Rs
[405]
But there is exist a maximum amount limit
[407]
You can use IMPS for up to 2 lac Rs
[410]
So if you want to send instantly 0 to 2 lac Rs, use IMPS
[415]
As I have told you earlier that when you register for a new beneficiary
[420]
Then some banks place a limit for initial 24 hours,
that for 24 hours you can send less money
[425]
So in some banks, this limit is 30 thousand Rs
[427]
While in some this limit is 50 thousand Rs
[429]
Now what are the charges for IMPS
[432]
This too differs from bank to bank
[434]
So in this, minimum amount can be zero
[437]
For example, if I talk about Axis Bank, so if you do a transaction up to 1000 Rs
[441]
Then there is no charge for that
[443]
After that, there are different slabs
[445]
There are slabs like 5 Rs, 15 Rs, 25 Rs
[448]
It depends on the transaction amount
[450]
So there can be a charge of 0 to 25 Rs per transaction
[454]
Plus you have to pay GST also
[457]
We have already talked about fund transfer, it is done instantly
[461]
There are three methods of fund transfer in IMPS
[465]
There is only one method of fund transfer in NEFT and RTGS
[469]
That you have to register the beneficiary, after that you need an IFS code
[475]
But in the case of IMPS, you can transfer the funds with a mobile number only.
[480]
If your mobile number is linked to any account
[482]
Then you can send money to that mobile number also
[485]
Whoever you want to send money to, you will need their MMID
[489]
What is MMID?
[491]
This is a seven-digit code that is generated by a bank for every account
[496]
If you want to generate it for your account,
[499]
then every bank provides a number
[501]
Which you can find online
[502]
You can send an SMS to that number and generate an MMID
[507]
The full form of MMID is Mobile Money Identifier
[510]
This is a unique code of every account
[513]
The second way you have is by using IFS code and account number
[518]
We have talked about it already
[519]
That you go to your online account
[521]
You put your beneficiary's name and account number in that
[526]
And you put their branch's IFS code
[527]
Then you will finish the transaction
[530]
The third way is the new one
[532]
If someone's account is linked to Aadhar Card,
[535]
then with the use of an Aadhar Number, you can transfer the money
[538]
So this was all about concept
[541]
I have discussed NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS with you in detail
[545]
I hope these concepts are clear to you
[547]
Now I will show you an online real-time demonstration
[551]
We will do one transaction of IMPS and let's see how the money is transferred
[555]
So see here, I have logged in to my Axis Bank account
[559]
After going to the payments here, and then going to the transfer funds
[562]
I will get an option of online transfer
[564]
All the banks have a similar process
[567]
Either you will find the main menu at the top or you will find it on the left
[571]
After that, firstly you have to register the beneficiary
[575]
If you are transferring the funds to a new beneficiary
[578]
I have already added a beneficiary, I have registered
[582]
I am going to transfer the funds to my other account
[586]
See here, Mukul Malik, I have an account in HDFC in Chennai
[589]
I will transfer the funds to that account
[591]
Let's go down for once
[592]
So see, what options do we have here
[595]
I can do it at one time or I can do it repetitive
[600]
If I want to make a payment every month
[602]
I can also do that here
[603]
We can put any amount here
[604]
Let's put the arbitrary amount here
[606]
I will put 140 amount here
[608]
So I am putting the amount 140 here, and it is less than 2 lac Rs
[612]
So there is no option for RTGS
[613]
So either I can do NEFT or IMPS
[616]
Right now the time is 7:30 pm on 14th August
[619]
So I cannot do NEFT also
[622]
That means I can do IMPS
[624]
We will do IMPS
[625]
We will press next here
[627]
See here, it is asking for the confirmation of the payment
[629]
We will come down now
[631]
So here are all the details
[633]
And 5 Rs are being charged for 140 Rs
[636]
I will click on "I have read the disclaimer and accept all the terms and conditions"
[640]
And I will enter the net secure code from my mobile
[642]
So I have added the net secure code
[646]
And we will confirm here
[647]
So see, IMPS fund transfer request accepted
[650]
After this, you can email the receipt or print it
[653]
Or you download it for the future reference
