Hi! In this video, we're going to talk about聽
how this can work really well for you and聽聽
[6]
your business and kind of what's possible here in聽
the Philippines. So in order to tell you this, I'm聽聽
[10]
gonna tell you a quick story. Years and years ago聽
I was not doing super well. I was trying to run my聽聽
[15]
own business. I didn't have a lot. You can see this聽
picture here of the Toyota Tercel we were driving聽聽
[19]
and the antenna on the top of my house. We didn't have聽
a lot. I didn't really know what I was doing in my聽聽
[23]
business. I just knew that I needed help. And聽
one day I was talking with a guy who runs a聽聽
[28]
really big online business. And he said to me, "You know John, when you're ready to聽聽
[33]
start outsourcing some of this stuff make sure聽
you go to the Philippines with it." And I thought,聽聽
[36]
that's really interesting. I had never thought of聽
that. I just assumed outsourcing was outsourcing.聽聽
[41]
And he says, "Yeah. Because in India, when you tell聽
them something and they say yes that means yes聽聽
[48]
I heard something come out of your mouth. It does聽
not mean, yes I understood what you said. And you聽聽
[53]
know hearing that, it was it was very different聽
for me. I had never considered that it might be聽聽
[58]
different outsourcing somewhere else than
what everybody experiences already. And so he gave聽聽
[65]
me a reference to where I could hire someone. And聽
I kind of debated. I went back and forth for a聽聽
[69]
couple months on whether I could keep them busy聽
full-time. Whether I had enough work for them聽聽
[72]
to do. Whether I could afford it. And he gave me a聽
reference where I could hire this person that was聽聽
[76]
going to cost me seven hundred dollars a month and聽
they would work full-time for me. And I went back聽聽
[82]
and forth and I finally took the leap but I hired聽
someone. And it was the single most liberating聽聽
[87]
experience of my life, where all of a sudden I had聽
this guy whose full-time job was to do anything I聽聽
[93]
asked him to do. And he was very loyal and very聽
honest. And I could work on my business instead聽聽
[99]
of working in my business because he was doing the聽
things that I had previously been doing. Absolutely聽聽
[103]
amazing experience and I had replaced myself for聽
numerous things in my business for the first time聽聽
[110]
ever and I solved all kinds of problems. So聽
when I talk about this typically I find that聽聽
[115]
people have three problems. Number two, the second聽
problem, is knowing how to do this. Like knowing聽聽
[119]
where do you find people and knowing how to聽
hire them. The third problem is knowing how to keep聽聽
[124]
them busy. How do I get these people to do what I聽
wanted to do? The first problem is a problem that聽聽
[129]
most people don't know that they have, which is聽
knowing what's possible with outsourcing. Because聽聽
[133]
for most people, like it was for me, outsourcing聽
is a problem. It's a headache. It's communication聽聽
[138]
problems, because all we know is India. And what聽
I discovered was something totally different. So聽聽
[142]
let me tell you another quick story about this.聽
Years ago my wife is seven months pregnant with聽聽
[146]
our third child. And we had two other kids at聽
the time and she went into the doctor's office聽聽
[152]
for an appointment and I went with her and he聽
had run some tests. And the doctor says to my聽聽
[156]
wife, "You have preeclampsia. And if you don't go聽
in strict bed rest for the next three to five聽聽
[161]
weeks, you're gonna have a seizure and you're聽
gonna die. And you're gonna lose this baby." And
[166]
obviously it was it was a shock to me; to hear that.聽
So on the way home from this I'm thinking, I'm聽聽
[176]
not about to lose a baby over money. I'm trying聽
to run a business myself but I have two of the聽聽
[180]
kids. I gotta take care of these kids and 聽
that's my number one priority. My wife has to聽聽
[184]
stay on strict bed rest for the next three or聽
five weeks. So when I got home I sent an email to聽聽
[188]
two of my guys in the Philippines. I love these聽
guys today. I had them working for me for a聽聽
[193]
little while and I told them my situation. Here's聽
what what's going on: I can't work. I need聽聽
[198]
you guys to do everything that I'm currently doing聽
in my business. And so they did for the next three聽聽
[202]
weeks I literally worked one hour while they took聽
over everything in my business: our AdWords聽聽
[206]
account, our marketing, my blog, the comments, forums聽
were participating in, SEO, and customer support, and聽聽
[212]
bugs, and features, and updates, and everything that聽
we were dealing with, they started doing for me. And聽聽
[218]
I literally worked one hour for the next three聽
weeks. My wife had the baby three weeks later聽,聽
[222]
the beautiful little girl in this picture. For the next two months after that I continued to聽聽
[229]
work very little. I worked about an hour a week聽
for the next two months because I had replaced聽聽
[234]
to myself again with these guys. As you聽
would imagine if you if you spend a whole bunch聽聽
[240]
of time doing nothing you learn a lot of things聽
number one I learned just how good these guys聽聽
[244]
are because before this had no idea I had only had聽
them doing menial tasks and I didn't realize that聽聽
[251]
they could follow instructions and think and and聽
and come up with their own ways of doing things聽聽
[256]
and improve things I had no idea but they did聽
so the second thing I learned was there's always聽聽
[263]
work to be done even in an internet business in聽
a coaching business in a real estate business and聽聽
[267]
in an Amazon business whatever it is there's聽
always work to be done it's just a matter of聽聽
[273]
who's doing the work is it you or is this someone聽
else doing the work because up to this point it聽聽
[276]
had always been me doing the work and now it was聽
these other guys doing the work the third thing聽聽
[280]
I learned was this is how you live the lifestyle聽
that you've always heard about because I always聽聽
[285]
heard about this lifestyle of cars and houses and聽
golfing and and all of a sudden I was living this聽聽
[292]
lifestyle where I was taking my kids to the golf聽
course twice a day and it got to the point where聽聽
[298]
there's only so much kind of nothing you can聽
do before you have to start working again and聽聽
[303]
I know that sounds a little bit off because not聽
many people get to that point in their life but聽聽
[308]
I had I had gotten to that point and I realized聽
like this isn't that hard to get here you just聽聽
[313]
need help you need the right kind of help and聽
you need it at an affordable rate and so just聽聽
[317]
so you know these guys that I was paying we're聽
not Harvard MBAs they're making about two hundred聽聽
[321]
and fifty dollars a month for full-time work and聽
they're doing they're running my business they're聽聽
[326]
running a six to seven figure a year business and聽
just so you know at $200 a month it's a totally聽聽
[333]
tax deductible expense there are no I don't pay聽
insurance I don't pay utilities I don't have an聽聽
[339]
office in the Philippines I don't have there's all聽
I don't have to make government taxes there's all聽聽
[345]
kinds of stuff that I don't have that people聽
hiring locally do have and so it's even easier聽聽
[351]
than what it was before so I'm just so you know聽
else our thing to me is not about big business聽聽
[355]
not about oh my gosh Walmart sending thousands of聽
job properties this is about me replacing myself聽聽
[360]
and you hiring someone to replace yourself this聽
is also not about India just like I talked about聽聽
[365]
and this is very different and it's not about聽
oDesk or Elance where you're going to hire a聽聽
[368]
freelancer what I do is very different where I聽
hire a full-time worker and they work for me and聽聽
[374]
only for me and they work for me long term and聽
that's a very different situation so let me tell聽聽
[380]
you kind of what happened here I know I spent the聽
three weeks before while I've had the baby in the聽聽
[385]
two months after my I've had the baby working聽
almost none and it got to the point where I was聽聽
[389]
born I felt like I needed to work more and so I聽
was going to kind of take what I learned during聽聽
[393]
this time of these Filipinos and how far could I聽
ask take this outsourcing thing because I learned聽聽
[399]
they're way better than I thought before so I'm聽
going to see if they can actually run a business聽聽
[403]
for me from start to finish so here's what I did聽
I came up with a business plan that I thought was聽聽
[408]
was pretty reasonable I understood the business聽
plan really well that's something you have to聽聽
[412]
understand as you do this these guys are not going聽
to take a business and build a business for you聽聽
[416]
without you being there and so I'm the I'm the CEO聽
of this business so what we were going to do is聽聽
[422]
write product reviews about products and it's in a聽
specific niche and we're going to post them on our聽聽
[429]
website we're going to do the marketing for them聽
and and bring traffic to our site and then we're聽聽
[434]
going to have affiliate links on we're a pretty聽
simple business so here's what happened I bought聽聽
[438]
a domain and I send it to I sent it to one of聽
my guys in the Philippines and I recorded myself聽聽
[442]
talking for 45 minutes explaining the business聽
I explained everything I could think of for this聽聽
[447]
so I explained what the business was to look like聽
how we were writing the reviews of what they would聽聽
[452]
look like and why we're writing him and what the聽
goal is with him and and what steps we needed to聽聽
[456]
take to reach those goals and and how we're going聽
to make money from it and and why it was going to聽聽
[460]
work I explained everything I could think of聽
and I said it to this guy in the Philippines聽聽
[464]
and he takes the domain and sets up on my hosting聽
account and sets up wordpress on the domain and聽聽
[468]
starts changing it according as I had said in聽
this in this audio that I sent him and he sends聽聽
[474]
it back to me a couple days later and frankly it聽
was terrible it was not what I had envisioned and聽聽
[479]
so I sent him some feedback and and the feedback聽
said you know this is good and this is good but we聽聽
[484]
need to move this over here and I don't want lists聽
I want this like this and so I sent him a whole聽聽
[489]
bunch of feedback and he starts changing it and聽
two days later I get another email back for him it聽聽
[493]
says here look at the website now and and it was聽
getting closer but it wasn't quite right and so聽聽
[496]
I had to go in and and send us some more feedback聽
and he gets it right and so in this I want you to聽聽
[502]
understand a couple things number one this is not聽
going to work out perfectly the first time they're聽聽
[506]
not going to do everything right the first time聽
that's not how this works however the point of聽聽
[511]
this is I didn't do the work he did the work and聽
after that when we built another website he got it聽聽
[517]
right the second time instead of the fourth time聽
and the next time we get he did it correctly the聽聽
[522]
first time I didn't have to do anything so the聽
point is I spent some time training him here and聽聽
[526]
working with him so that in the future life got聽
way easier a I'm not the one doing the work now聽聽
[531]
so after this he I sent him the next test which聽
was to write the reviews Lee writes the first聽聽
[537]
review and it was terrible and I had to go through聽
the same process with him again where we we went聽聽
[542]
through the review and I tweaked it and I gave him聽
a system where he could he could find the right聽聽
[547]
information and write the reviews and he writes聽
him really really well and people that find them聽聽
[552]
online love the reviews they are super thrilled聽
about them then after that I give him some more聽聽
[558]
I give him more systems to implement for me and聽
so he starts doing the marketing of the website聽聽
[562]
the SEO and articles and videos and YouTube and聽
Facebook and Twitter and and RSS feeds and and all聽聽
[569]
the things that you hear about that you should be聽
doing in your business but that there's not enough聽聽
[573]
time in the day to do I was doing these things聽
in this business except I wasn't doing them I聽聽
[579]
had this other guy doing them for me I was just聽
telling him what to do and he would go do it and聽聽
[584]
I had to teach him how to do it and it took us a聽
long time to get this done however the first month聽聽
[589]
that business made me $200 within three months of聽
businesses making me about $1,000 a month within聽聽
[594]
six months it was making me three to five thousand聽
dollars a month within a year it was making me ten聽聽
[599]
to fifteen thousand dollars a month and I was聽
the CEO of this business and I had implemented聽聽
[604]
everything that I knew I just didn't do the work聽
so when I talked about the Philippines it's a聽聽
[611]
different situation than elsewhere and I want you聽
to understand what's possible here because until聽聽
[616]
you understand what's possible you can't do this聽
as well as you should so now you know a little bit聽聽
[622]
about what's possible and and and you're getting聽
excited about this next I'm going to talk to you聽聽
[628]
about why the Philippines is different what makes聽
this work so you'll understand how to do it better
